Tips
1.
To apply a Swiffer cloth, lay the cloth (pillow side down) on the track, place the
cleaning module on top, then push down lightly. To help keep the cleaning module
slotted, only the front of the track guide should be covered with Swiffer cloth. The
rear part of the track guide should be free of cloth. See Figure 5 below.
2.
There is a pin at the front of the cleaning module that can be used to pierce the
Swiffer cloth to help hold it. Its use is optional and normally not required.

3.
Cut your own Swiffer cloths using the yellow template to trace an outline, then use
scissors to cut new cloths. A lifetime supply of Swiffer Sweeper X-Large Sweeping
Cloth Refills (Unscented) can be purchased from Amazon for $6 to $10.
4.
To enhance tire cleaning, the Swiffer cloth can be lightly dampened with something
like Windex®. You may need to help the slot car along until some of the moisture is
drawn from the cloth so that traction is regained.
5.
Both sides of the Swiffer cloth can be used however the side with the pillow texture
(when placed downward) is more effective at cleaning.
6.
Most newer slot cars are able to push the cleaning module around however some
vintage slot cars such as Strombecker® or Eldon® cannot, due to a lack of traction
or power. Avoid using an underpowered slot car and/or controller as either could
overheat.
7.
Periodically check that the contour blocks under the cleaning module move up and
down freely. Make sure the Velcro and its adhesive are not interfering with the
contour blocks.

Using the TrackPro - Contour Slot Car Track Cleaning System
Congratulations on your purchase of the TrackPro - Contour slot car track
cleaning system. TrackPro - Contour provides an innovative and effective solution
to slot car track cleaning. Assembly and demonstration videos can be viewed
online at:
The TrackPro - Contour slot car track cleaning system is designed for smooth or
moderately textured track with a minimum track width of 6” or 3” per lane. The
system will not work on Ninco® and Scalextric® classic track due to their
abrasive surface texture which prevents the cleaning module from being pushed
around the track.

How it works
Figure 1
With a Swiffer cloth attached to the bottom of the cleaning module, the module is
placed “slotted” on the track in front of a slot car. The slot car is then driven,
pushing the cleaning module around the track. Effective cleaning is achieved
because the cleaning module is equipped with floating blocks that concentrate
downward pressure and contour to the surface of the track. In addition, side
wings help maximize cleaning width by automatically adjusting to varying track
widths when tracks narrow due to fences and other objects.
Important: If using SCX® Sport track, the track slot is too narrow for the
cleaning module’s track guide and the Swiffer® cloth combined. This is
resolved by cutting a small slot near the front of the cloth toward the back
so that the slot guide protrudes through the Swiffer® cloth.
2.
Next, push the cleaning module around the track with a slot car, driving at
moderate speeds. After a few laps, you will likely see that the cleaning
module has picked up significant amounts of dust and surface film.
3.
Frequently check the slot car being used to push the cleaning module around
to ensure the motor is not overheating. This is normally not a problem.
4.
Switch to other slot cars to condition their tires. You’ll see improvements in
the performance of your track and cars immediately after cleaning. Additional
tips are included on the next page.
Assembly
Apply Velcro Material - Before a Swiffer cloth can be attached to the bottom of
the track cleaning module, the Velcro material must be applied. The material has
been 95% pre-cut by a laser. Use scissors to cut and separate the material.
Important: Using the diagram below, affix the Velcro to the bottom of the
cleaning module within the areas shown.by the red lines, Ensure the
material and its adhesive do not interfere with the module’s contour blocks.
Lay a cut Swiffer cloth centered on a track lane, then place the cleaning
module onto the Swiffer cloth. Push down lightly so that the Velcro adheres
to the Swiffer cloth. To help keep the cleaning module slotted, the rear part
of the cleaning module’s track guide should be free of Swiffer cloth. For
details including a diagram, see Tips 1 and 2 on following page.
Did you know? During track cleaning, the slot car used to push the
cleaning module will benefit from improved rear tires. This occurs because
the added forces from pushing the cleaning module, help release debris and
dry rubber from the tires onto the track. These particulates are then
then picked up by the cleaning module on the following lap.
Once separated and with the
backing removed, affix the six
Velcro pieces onto the
bottom of the cleaning
module. The bottom of the
cleaning module has Laser
etched lines to help guide the
positioning of the Velcro so
as to not interfere with the
contour blocks.
