4 EVENTS CALENDAR MAY MIAMI FASHION WEEK MAY 15, 2014 - MAY 18, 2014 Miami Museum Month May 1 - 31 Celebrating the city’s rich cultural history, participate in Miami Museum Month and experience your own “museum hop.” Participating museums like HistoryMiami, Miami Children’s Museum, Pérez Art Museum Miami and many more, are offering special deals throughout the month. Miami Fashion Week takes place in mid-May on Miami Beach at the Miami Beach Convention Center. It’s the only fashion week that’s dedicated to resort and pre-spring collections. About twenty jewelry and accessory designers and more than thirty clothing designers from around the world took to the runway at the Convention Center. 15 Orange Bowl Paddle Championship: May 7 1-31 7 All Kids Included Family Arts Festival: May 7 The Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center is hosting the 10th edition of the All Kids Included Family Arts Festival including art programing and activities for children with and without disabilities. 5 Calling all SUP enthusiasts! The Windhaven Insurance Orange Bowl Paddle Championship will showcase more than 300 elite competitors in stand-up paddle boarding as well as amateur participants and thousands of spectators. Registration begins at Miami Marine Stadium at 7:30 a.m. and the races kicks off at 9 a.m. Registration starts from $65 per person and all proceeds benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami. Aqua Girl: May 11 - 15 11 A fun-filled event designed especially for the ladies, Aqua Girl is a week-long celebration of women, wellness and equality. Enjoy dance parties, live music, comedy shows, dining events and a VIP reception. Proceeds benefit the Aqua Foundation and go towards scholarships and grants promoting the LGBT community. The Redland International Orchid Show is a three-day event open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and featuring more than 50 booths of orchid vendors. Tickets are $10 per person. 4-8 13 Head to Bayfront Park in Downtown Miami for the largest gathering of Haitian music fans in the country. Enjoy performances at the 18th annual Haitian Compas Festival by Djakout #1, Tvice, Carimi and more. Tickets start at $40 for general admission and $80 for VIP. iHeartRadio Summer Pool Party: May 21 21 Part of the Fontainebleau BleauLive concert series, iHeartRadio’s Summer Pool Party is back on Saturday, May 21, 2016. Expect high-energy performances poolside by Jason Derulo, DNCE, Flo Rida, Lukas Graham, Kygo and more. Tickets are available through two or three-night hotel packages at the Fontainebleau starting at $499 per night.
