Our People, Our Land, Our Images will be on view at the Sordoni Art Gallery April 9 through May 19. This photographic exhibition features the work of indigenous artists from North America, Peru, Iraq and New Zealand. The exhibition is distinctive in its historical reach, including newly discovered 19th century trailblazers, members of the next generation of emerging photographers, and well-established contemporary artists. Admission is free. The Sordoni Art Gallery is open to the public and is located at 150 S. River St. in the Stark Learning Center. The gallery is open Tuesday through Sunday, noon to 4:30 p.m. and is closed for University holidays and breaks. For more information, call (570) 408-4325. Congratulations Naomi Hatsfelt Baker was honored by the KCACTF Respondent with a Certificate of Merit for her direction of Godspell. The cast earned a Certificate of Merit for "Ensemble Acting." May 31 to June 2: Ballet Northeast Cinderella on May 31 and June 1 at 7:30 p.m. and June 2 at 2 p.m. at the Dorothy Dickson Darte Center. April 30: Jazz Orchestra Spring Concert directed by Nicholas Driscoll, 8 p.m., Dorothy Dickson Darte Center. Free and open to the public. DANCE: April 20: Emerging Choreographers’ concert at 3 p.m. will highlight students’ original works. Second concert at 8 p.m. will include students enrolled in all dance genres performing instructorchoreographed pieces. Both concerts held in the Dorothy Dickson Darte Center. THEATRE/MUSICAL THEATRE NEWS Wilkes University Theatre’s production of The Race Play by Israel Horovitz was one of nine regional university productions invited to the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival at Towson University in Baltimore. The production was performed Tuesday, Jan. 15, in The Ruth Mader Theatre, Towson University. Art Department Announcement: The visual art department has moved to the newly renovated Bedford Hall next to the Henry Student Center.
