We will arrive this evening in time for an included dinner at Miller’s Smorgasbord. Founded over 86 years ago, Miller’s gets their produce and other supplies from local Amish farmers. After enjoying their world famous Smorgasbord, we check into our hotel, the Wingate by Wyndham, home for the next two nights. Day 2 Breakfast is included this morning before departing for the Amish Experience where we will view the film, “Jacob’s Choice,” and tour an authentic Amish Homestead and Farmlands surrounding this area. Shopping and lunch is on our own this afternoon at the Rockvale Outlets in Lancaster before departing for the Sight and Sound Millenium Theater to see the production of Samson. One of the most captivating stories in the Bible, Samson is filled with colorful characters, extraordinary feats of strength, and amazing special effects everyone will love. Dinner will be included following the show at the Hershey Farm Restaurant. Set on a 23-acre farm, we will enjoy an Amish family style meal before returning to our hotel for the remainder of the evening. The Amish Experience Theater Day 3 Another breakfast is included this morning before departing for Gettysburg. Upon arrival, we visit the Visitor’s Center for a short film and to view the Cyclorama. The Gettysburg Cyclorama painting was state of the art entertainment in the 19th century. This colossal oil painting in the round depicts the charge of the Confederate infantry led by General George Pickett. A step on guide will then board our coach and take us on a narrated guided tour of the Battlefield. We will step off the bus several times to experience this hallowed ground. Following our tour, we check into our hotel, the Country Inn and Suites of Gettysburg. Dinner is included this evening at the Historic Farnsworth House Inn. The house sheltered Confederate sharpshooters during the three day conflict, one of whom it is believed to have accidentally shot 20 year old Mary Virginia “Jennie” Wade, the only civilian who died during the battle. The inn is named after Elon Farnsworth who has ties to Michigan and died a hero at Gettysburg.
