Pre-­‐seDled effluent from a collecGon is discharged to the underground chamber from which it infiltrates into the surrounding soil. ADVANTAGES OF USING MAGIC PITS •  Drainage free villages. •  Mosquito free villages. •  Can be built and repaired with locally available materials. •  Technique simple to apply for all users. •  Small land area is required. •  Low capital costs; low operaGng costs. •  Recharging groundwater bodies. ABOUT IBRAHIMPUR VILLAGE Ø  In this village all representaGves were elected unanimously in Local body electons. Ø  This village achieved NIRMAL PURASKAR Award in 2013 for 100% construcGon of IHL Ø  This village achieved 96% polling during general elecGons 2013 and got rewards for its parGcipaGon Ø  In this village,100% house taxes were collected in 2014. MAGIC PITS ARE INSTALLED AT IBRAHIMPUR VILLAGE,SIDDIPET MANDAL Before the construcJon of these pits in this village no drains existed here, whenever there was a small drizzle all the roads were pooled and there was stagnaJon of water everywhere. CONSTRUCTION OF A MAGIC PIT BROAD ACHIEVEMENTS Ø  On an average 2 crore liters of water is recharged in the subsoil every year. Ø  No mortality for plants Ø  Every year 36,000 labor charges are saved for gram panchayat. Ø  For the construcJon of drains for the whole village, the project saved 2crore rupees for the government.
