Scandinavian Library Furniture
S c a n d i n a v i a n Library Furniture BCI/EUROBIB Like a Good Book. Scandinavian library furniture has won worldwide renown. And for good reason. The Nordic countries have a lengthy and extensive library tradition. From this history, considerable know-how has evolved within system and function as well as handcraft and design. Scandinavian library furniture is designed and built to work both now and in the future – using proven materials and methods, giving priority to timeless design. Of course the Nordic light leaves its mark on the design. The elegant unembellished design and the blonde wood species speak their own clear language. Clearly, well formulated, and beautifully. Just like a good book. 4 BCI/EUROBIB Eurobib BCI GÄRSNÄS LAMMHULTS 5 BCI/EUROBIB Eurobib Libraries in Development. Swedish Eurobib has developed and designed furniture for libraries for over 60 years and is today the world’s biggest independent company in its field. Eurobib works with architects, designers, and draftsmen to develop furniture and furniture systems that stand up to the test of time. Some of Scandinavia’s leading designers belong to the network. We give high priority to new media and other technical innovations. Eurobib’s objective is to be on the absolute cutting edge to meet the needs and embrace the developments of libraries, whether furnishing the local school library or designing custom furniture for a new international research center. 6 BCI/EUROBIB BCI The Library Experience. Danish BCI has a clearly stated strategy for its library furniture. By listening, learning, and processing information and impressions from various interested parties, BCI creates furniture collections for tomorrow’s libraries. And there are many new influences to consider. The library is no longer just a place for books and studies, but a hub for multicultural exchange, communication, and social events. At the same time the library is a space for contemplation, with room for individual study and reflection. That’s how the library for which BCI creates furniture looks. And no two libraries are alike; in BCI´s world each library is unique where customized solutions are always a possibility. 7 INDEX - STEEL SHELVING SYSTEM 8 INDEX - STEEL SHELVING SYSTEM Index Design: Björn Dahlström 9 INDEX - STEEL SHELVING SYSTEM 10 INDEX - STEEL SHELVING SYSTEM 11 INDEX - STEEL SHELVING SYSTEM Index vertical lightning 12 INDEX - STEEL SHELVING SYSTEM 13 METIS - SHELVING SYSTEM Metis Design: Jérôme Cachod 14 METIS - SHELVING SYSTEM 15 GOTHIA - SHELVING SYSTEM 16 GOTHIA - SHELVING SYSTEM 17 OPAL - STEEL SHELVING SYSTEM Opal Design: Bernt 18 OPAL - STEEL SHELVING SYSTEM 19 OPAL - STEEL SHELVING SYSTEM 20 OPAL - STEEL SHELVING SYSTEM 21 OPAL - STEEL SHELVING SYSTEM 22 OPAL - STEEL SHELVING SYSTEM 23 OPAL - STEEL SHELVING SYSTEM 24 OPAL - STEEL SHELVING SYSTEM 25 OPAL - STEEL SHELVING SYSTEM 26 OPAL - STEEL SHELVING SYSTEM 27 OPAL - STEEL SHELVING SYSTEM 28 OPAL - STEEL SHELVING SYSTEM 29 60/30 - STEEL SHELVING SYSTEM 60/30 Design: BCI 30 60/30 - STEEL SHELVING SYSTEM 31 60/30 - STEEL SHELVING SYSTEM 32 60/30 - STEEL SHELVING SYSTEM 33 60/30 - STEEL SHELVING SYSTEM 34 60/30 - STEEL SHELVING SYSTEM 60/30 Colours 35 DISPLAY String Magazine Shelf Design: Nisse Strinning 36 EXPOSÉ Exposé Design: Bengt Weberg 37 OSLO - SHELVING SYSTEM Oslo Design: BCI 38 OSLO - SHELVING SYSTEM 39 LECTURE SOFTLINE Lecture Softline Design: Eurobib Singles 40 LECTURE SOFTLINE Rickard Steffen High School Library, Sweden 41 GOTHIA - STEEL SHELVING SYSTEM Gothia Design: Eurobib Design Group 42 GOTHIA - STEEL SHELVING SYSTEM 43 NORDIC - SHELVING SYSTEM Nordic Design: Krister Sjögren 44 COUNTER - LECTURE SOFTLINE Softline Counter Design: Eurobib 45 COUNTER - CLASSIC COUNTER SYSTEM Classic Counter System Design: BCI 46 COUNTER - CONCERTINA Concertina Design: Bernt 47 BOOK TROLLEY BCI Front Book trolley Beech/white Ergoline Beech/white Halland Beech/red 48 BOOK TROLLEY Viggo Selma White Oak veneer/black Grey acrylic/black Ven Beech/red Gotland Beech/red Öland Beech/white 49 DISPLAY Post Design: Lillian Öberg 50 DISPLAY Newspaper Stand Atlas Desk Browser Browser 51 DISPLAY CD Selector Browser 52 DISPLAY Book Browser Book browser with Bottom shelf Store Claus 53 STUDY CARRELS Read Study Table Design: cava design, Eva Nyberg & Catarina von Matérn 54 STUDY CARRELS Index Study Table Design: Björn Dahlström 55 STUDY CARRELS Opal Reading Table Design: Bernt 56 STUDY CARRELS 57 STUDY CARRELS Artica Design: Peke Hallenheim Artica Multitable SIT Artica Multitable Stand 58 STUDY CARRELS Study Carrel Design: BCI 59 MIX IT Mix IT Design: Strand & Hvass 60 MIX IT 61 MIX IT 62 MIX IT 63 MIX IT 64 CHAIRS Bib chair Design: Peke Hallenheim 65 CHILDREN'S FURNITURE 66 CHILDREN'S FURNITURE Little Furniture Licenceholder © Moomin characters ™ © Gregor Adlercreutz 67 CHILDREN'S FURNITURE Puzzle Design: Birgitte Borup & Carsten Becker 68 CHILDREN'S FURNITURE 69 CHILDREN'S FURNITURE Tricolore Design: Camilla Wessman 70 CHILDREN'S FURNITURE 71 CHILDREN'S FURNITURE Tricolore Colours 72 CHILDREN'S FURNITURE BCI Rap rap Design: Strand & Hvass Basics children's shelf Design: Eurobib 73 REFERENCE Roskilde University, Denmark 74 REFERENCE 75 REFERENCE 76 REFERENCE Roskilde University, Denmark 77 REFERENCE Hinnerup Library & Culture Center, Denmark 78 REFERENCE 79 REFERENCE 80 REFERENCE Hinnerup Library & Culture Center, Denmark 81 REFERENCE Biblioteca Sala Borsa, Italy 82 REFERENCE The Royal Library, Copenhagen, Denmark 83 REFERENCE Ringe Public Library, Denmark 84 REFERENCE Farmington Public Library, United States 85 BCI A/S Dalbækvej 1, DK-6670 Holsted Phone: +45 76 78 26 11 · Fax: +45 76 78 26 22 E-mail: bci@bci.dk · www.bci.dk Eurobib AB Box 150, SE-221 00 Lund, Sweden Visiting address: Åkergränden 7 Phone: +46 (0)46 31 18 00 · Fax: +46 (0)46 32 05 29 E-mail: info@eurobib.se · www.eurobib.com
