J Daisy Stripe 3272-55 Blue FUSSY CUT DAISY STRIPE: (4) 6-1/2" x LOF strips. 2-1/4 YDs FUSSY CUT MEDALLION: (4) 2-1/2" x LOF strips; BINDING. BLOCK ASSEMBLY PROJECT USES PRECISE 1/4” SEAMS. TEST YOUR SEAM ALLOWANCE BY CUTTING (2) 2-1/2” X 5” RECTANGLES. STITCH THEM TOGETHER ALONG 5” LENGTH. AT THE MIDPOINT, MEASURE ACROSS THE UNIT. IT SHOULD BE EXACTLY 4-1/2” WIDE. IF NOT, ADJUST YOUR SEAM ALLOWANCE AND REPEAT. 1. AB STRIP: Sew together (1) A and (1) B 2-1/2" x WOF strip via long edge. Make 3 AB strips. Then subcut (40) AB 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" rectangles. B L A AB I I I I 3. ABI BLOCK: Sew (1) I 2" x 4-1/2" strip to each side AB 4-PATCH. Then sew (1) I 2" x 7-1/2" strip to top and to bottom of ABI unit. Square to 7-1/2". Make 20 ABI BLOCKS. 4. CENTER BLOCK: Draw a diagonal line on wrong side of (1) C 3-1/2" square. Place C square at bottom right corner of (1) ABI BLOCK and sew on diagonal line. Press open C fabric and trim excess 1/4". Repeat for remaining corners, as shown in diagram below. Square to 7-1/2". ABI ABI C C TRIM EXCESS 1/4" F ABI F MAKE 20 CENTER BLOCKS C ROW 1 L L L L 5. FINAL BLOCK: Similar to STEP 3. and STEP 4. add I 2" strips and D, E, G, and H 3-1/2" squares to CENTER BLOCK, see diagram below. NOTE PROPER CORNER PLACEMENT OF 3-1/2" SQUARES. Square to 13-1/2". Then sew ROW 1 to ROW 2, refer to QUILT DIAGRAM. ROW 3 L L ROW 5 rectangles and sew into a 4-PATCH. Square to 4-1/2". Make 20 AB blocks. Set aside. L J ROW 4 L A 2. ON “HOW TO” FOR MITERED CORNERS. MEASURE WIDTH AND LENGTH OF QUILT TOP TO ENSURE J BORDER SIZES, BELOW ARE OUR CUTTING SIZES. 7. J BORDER (DAISIES): Center and sew (1) J 6-1/2" x <79"= strip to each side of quilt top. Next center and sew (1) J 6-1/2" x <66"= strip to top and bottom of quilt top. Miter the corners and trim excess overlapping fabric. FINISHING Cut batting and backing 3" larger than top on all sides. Layer backing, batting and top together and baste or pin.
