KAGGA KAMMA
NEWSLETTER
JUNE 2016
Dear Shareholder
We cannot believe how quickly this year is going
by and what an amazing year it has already been
for Kagga Kamma. We have been focussing on
dreaming the impossible, seeking the unknown
and achieving greatness. With that in mind, we are
excited to share the latest news, accomplishments
and happenings with you.
MID-YEAR CATCH UP…
We are happy to announce that Kagga Kamma achieved Hospitality Resort status at this
year’s prestigious, RCI OSCAS Awards Ceremony.
We look forward to what the future
holds and will keep pushing, keep
imagining with all our minds, believing
with all our hearts and achieving with
all our might.
At the 2015 VRS Year-End Awards
Ceremony, our very own Carmen
Kinnear won the overall Resort
Food and Beverage Manager of
the Year. We are very proud of her
and believe this is only the beginning
of something great.
Various activities to choose from
Entertainment
and Fun
“Collect moments not things.”
We understand that the best legacy you can
leave your loved ones are happy memories and
with that in mind, we always try to make “special
days, special occasions” for our guests. Whether
it is getting a donkey cart, also known as a “love
limousine” for Valentine’s Day, giving beauty tips
on Mother’s Day (with yummy treats) or whatever
else that’s interesting and fun – we do it all for you;
we do it all for your loved ones!
Celebrating Special Days with our guests
There are also reptile presentations for guests that
like our slivering counterparts, as well as planned
fun and entertainment programmes for the whole
family to enjoy – just enquire at Reception.
Fresh and inviting
REFURBS AND UPGRADES
“To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often.”
We try improving as much as possible every year; all to ensure that you only have the best
stay possible at your gem in the Cederberg area. We use the Meet-and-Greets on
Tuesdays, to gain valuable information on what you love about Kagga Kamma, as well
as areas you want us to concentrate on – all over a cup of delicious soup and scrumptious
homemade bread; or fruit juice and yum just-out-of-the oven scones.
Some changes you should look out for:
There is nothing like a newly painted area; it looks so fresh and inviting. Now most of the
Chalets have been painted, inside and out and are really looking fresh, inviting
and great. Progressively, the rest of the Chalets will be painted as well.
Chalets have been painted
We aim to give our guests maximum comfort. For this reason, the cupboards and the
tables in the Six-sleeper Chalets have been made smaller to provide more
space for guests to enjoy the rooms. To make sure that our Chalet guests have an easy
reading experience, all main bedrooms have been fitted with LED lamps – now
guests will not miss a word of their favourite read.
Kagga Kamma is the ultimate place to quietly sit, reflect and soak in the absolutely magnificent views that it is famous for and to enable you to do exactly this, all the Chalets
have received new outside chairs. This is the perfect spot to enjoy the view of the
untouched landscapes, beautiful rock formations and the unique flora of the area.
New outside chairs
As an ongoing improvement of the general amenities at the Reserve, the bathrooms at
the chalet swimming pool have received new basins. It’s through these consistent steps that we aim to achieve greatness.
Also, don’t miss:
Kagga Kamma’s Reception area and Spa have both received some interesting changes. A new Reception desk and wine-barrel tables, now
greet guests as they walk into the Lodge. There are also new lights and
mounted clocks displaying different world time zones. At our Spa, the
reception desk has been replaced; outside, more plants have
been added, as well as a path –to lead you to your super relaxing treatments.
New development in the Restaurant
UNIQUELY
KAGGA KAMMA
“Your reason to smile.”
The Restaurant has also seen some development; it has been repainted, new furniture has been added and the very popular Boma area
is sporting new chairs. If our cherished Chalet guests feel like a treat,
or a break from cooking, then the upgraded Kagga Kamma Restaurant is a
great option.
And finally... for an experience that is out of this world –don’t miss, Kagga
Kamma’s Solar System that is now complete. Guests can now
walk or drive through this amazing installation, with informative plaques
guiding them along the way.
There are so many reasons why Kagga Kamma is unique and special. The spectacular views of mountain ranges, matchless
sunsets, fynbos-strewn landscapes, rock formations that tease your imagination and little critters that can be seen on the plains; the
sounds of the wind blowing through the grass and whistling through the sandstone formations.
Then there are the various activities to choose from. Whether you find the rich cultural
history of the San people fascinating or want to have access to exclusive routes
on the Quad Bike Safaris, or gaze at a 100 billion stars in the Milky Way – you can
enjoy these excursions and more at Kagga Kamma. There is the magnificent display of
wild flowers across the plains during the winter and spring months, up until October –
the most beautiful, colourful array.
Maybe you prefer to relax and unwind at the Kagga Kamma Spa and now you can
do so with a view. Our Spa offers open air massages (weather permitting) – just
think: the sounds of nature, a warm breeze lightly blowing over you, while you have an
invigorating back massage.
Chalet guests are also most welcome at the Kagga Kamma Restaurant. Book and
enjoy dinner under the stars in the boma area, a yummy lunch or treat for the younger
guests, or a mega, hot breakfast to start your day right.
Making Dreams Come True:
There is no doubt that we rise by lifting others up and Kagga Kamma loves to
help out communities as much as possible. As a VRS Managed Resort, our particular focus is the Driving Dreams Campaign run by African Blessings, a
non-profit company and public benefit organisation. African Blessings aims
to uplift South African communities and spread hope in this beautiful country of ours. They are running a campaign to raise funds
for a 34-seater bus. The bus will help to transport those involved in Foundations Farming Training initiatives, assist people in the community that need transport; deliver donated items to the community and its surroundings and transport
Early Learning Centre children to and from excursions.
You can help dreams come true! How:
“Kindness is a
language that
the deaf can
hear and the
blind can see.”
Mark Twain

BIG THINKING PRECEDES
GREAT ACHIEVEMENT
The Resort and Management wish to give our cherished shareholders only the best
experience. To achieve greatness we must dream, as well as act. With this in mind,
we believe in a three part act to ensure we continue to achieve in the future:
AIM TO PLEASE
Big goals get big results and we make this our aim when it comes to pleasing our
guests with our commitment to service excellence, great facilities and
the unique excursions available. We are excited about what the future holds.
REFINE AND CONQUER!
We consistently ensure that all Chalets and facilities are refined, maintained
and upgraded.
HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS!
All plans and projects undertaken are to ensure that Kagga Kamma remains your
prized holiday destination and your gem in the Cederberg region.

In Closing
Although the days are getting colder… with a warm Kagga Kamma heart,
we wish you all things cosy, toasty and warm – until we speak again. We
leave you with one final thought: “You are here for a purpose. There are no
duplicates of you in the whole world. There has never been, there never will be.
You were brought here now to fill a certain need. Think of how special you are for a
moment”.
Warm regards
