The Southwest Louisiana Association of REALTORS® installed 13 new members at the July General Membership Meeting. The new realtors pledged: To
protect the individual right of real estate ownership and to widen the opportunity to enjoy it; To be honorable and honest in all dealings; To seek better to represent their clients by building their knowledge and competence; To act fairly towards all in the spirit of the Golden Rule; To serve well their
community, and through it their country; To observe the REALTORS® Code of Ethics and to conform their conduct to its lofty ideals. Congratulations

Lisa Verrette, CEO, Tony Cornner, Vice-President, Tim Castle, Treasurer, and Richman Reinauer, Board Director and
Louisiana Realtors Regional Vice-President recently attended a two-day retreat to learn more about the National
Association of REALTORS® mandatory core standards for
local and state realtor associations. The event was hosted
by the Louisiana Realtors Association. By June 30, 2015,
every local and state REALTOR® association is obligated
to prove its compliance with the six new minimum service
and organizational components consisting of: 1) Code of
Ethics; 2) Advocacy; 3) Consumer Outreach; 4) Unification;
5) Technology; and 6) Financial Solvency. “By setting a set
of core standards for every one of our 1,400 local and state
associations, we take a giant step forward in ensuring that
we reach our goals together,” says National Association of
REALTORS® President Steven Brown. “The Southwest Louisiana Association of REALTORS® is committed to the goal
of the new core standards, ensuring that every member is
provided with the services they deserve on the local, state
and national levels,” says Lisa Verrette, CEO.
