confident with themselves, the outdoors, and life in general.

Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains operates seven unique facilities. Living
spaces range from primitive sites to Adirondack shelters to winterized lodges to indoor
facilities.







“Application for Site Use” with 50% deposit of total fee.

Applicants will be notified by phone or email confirming reservation, and a packet of
necessary information will be sent.
Zero tolerance policy for graffiti! The group/troop will be charged $55 per hour for
removal.
Advance planning and flexibility in dates are recommended, as many sites fill quickly.
All sites are available for day use. Application for Site Use must be submitted. Fees
for day use are as follows:

All non-GSGWM groups must pay a cleaning deposit of $100. This fee must be included
with application and fee deposit. Cleaning deposits will be refunded only if site is left clean.
Please note: All groups will be billed for any damages or necessary clean-up at a rate of
$55 per hour.
For cancellations up to four weeks prior to camp date, deposit will be refunded in full. For
camp cancellations within four weeks of the camp date, fee will be refunded except for
one night’s lodging. No refunds will be given for cancellations within two weeks of rental
date.

Secure person with appropriate level of training; provide proof of training
(copy of certification cards) with application.

The Bedford NH corporate lobby has resources in the Lending Library to
view area attractions for the properties.

If site is left unclean, groups will be charged $55 per hour for cleaning.

All groups will be billed for any damages.
Camporees


When a Community, or other large group, is hosting a camporee, each
troop attending must have someone who is certified in CPR and First Aid
and has completed, at minimum, the Basic Outdoor Living Skills training.
One person should take the lead Camporee Organizer role and be
responsible for submitting the required certifications for all troops to the
Bedford NH office.
Thetford, VT
Camp Farnsworth, a 200-acre facility accommodating up to 325 people, features large
playing fields, a forest setting, and private 50-acre lake which can be used for swimming,
canoeing, kayaking, and ice skating.
Camp facilities include small cabins, platform tents, and Adirondack shelters. All have
beds with mattresses. Each unit has 7-8 cabins/tents and can sleep up to 32 people. All
have unit shelters, drinking water and toilets, which may be flush, composting, or latrine.
There is a central shower house. Drinking water is available May 15 - October 1st.
Additional buildings include an arts building, a dining hall with kitchen that seats up to
350. The recreation building features a stage and can hold 210 people, has flush toilets,
shower, and kitchenette area (small refrigerator and microwave/convection oven). Each
building may be rented separately.
Water Front is included when renting the whole camp.
Fire pit unless renting a site there will be a fee for use of the fire pit. Please see below.

Certificate of insurance is required to be submitted with Application for
Site Use.
Insurance requirements: Certificate of Comprehensive General
Liability Insurance, including contractual liability for bodily injury and
property damage in amounts not less than $500,000 combined single
limit, or $250/$500,000 Bodily Injury and $100,000 Property Damage.

SITE USE AGREEMENT must be read, understood and signed, and
submitted with Application for Site Use.

Cleaning deposit of $100 must be included with fee deposit and
Application for Site Use.
 Due 4 weeks before scheduled trip.
 Will be refunded if site is left clean upon inspection .
 Necessary cleaning will be billed at a rate of $55 per hour.

All groups will be billed for any damages.

Bedford, NH
Camp Kettleford is located on 30 forested acres by the shores of Sebbins Pond, close to
Manchester, New Hampshire’s largest city.
Camping facilities include 12 units, each with a large screened Adirondack shelter that
sleeps up to 10-12 Brownies or 5-10 older girls. Each unit has a fire pit and picnic tables.
Uncanoonuc, Kancamagus, and the Lodge are barrier-free and wheelchair accessible.
There are two centrally located CTS (composting toilet system) buildings. Drinking water
is available May 1 - October 31. An open pavilion is also available. There is space near
each shelter to pitch tents.
A seasonal lodge with kitchen, tables, and mattresses, accommodates up to 16.
Water Front is included when renting the whole camp.

Each group is responsible for all equipment they bring. GSGWM Council is not
responsible for personal property.
Alcohol is prohibited from Council property and Council-sponsored events with the
exception of designated events approved by the CEO (submit letter with
application). Alcohol is prohibited when Girl Scouts are present on the property.
NO exceptions will be made.
Smoking is permitted in the parking lot only and when no children are present.
Illegal drugs are not permitted on the site.
Guns or other weapons are not permitted onsite.
Pets are not permitted on the site. (Service animals, i.e. guide dogs, are allowed.)
Swimming /boating are only available in designated areas under the direction of
certified lifeguards.
For swimming or boating, secure lifeguard (American Red Cross, YMCA or BSA
certified). Professional rescuer must be 18 or older and CPR/First Aid Certified.
*1 lifeguard and 2 watchers required for every 20 swimmers/12 boaters.
Secure a First Aider with current First Aid and CPR certification.
*When camping as a small group on one site you must have 1 of the following:
First Aider, Nurse, Doctor or EMT.
* For an event with 200 participants or more you must have 1 of the following:
Nurse, Doctor, EMT or First Responder in a central location OR 1 First Aider
per group (see Safety Activity Checkpoints).
Read emergency information in your specific site's Facility Guide and complete
Emergency Planning Form.
*You are responsible for all first aid, emergency care and emergency
transportation.
*You must provide your own first aid kit.
You are responsible for the behavior of the people in your party and for enforcing all
Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains’ policies and procedures as outlined
here and in your site's facility guide.
Sleeping numbers listed at camps may not be exceeded. These numbers are to be
enforced for safety reasons.
If you are reserving most (or all of) Farnsworth, please call the Camp Ranger at least
two weeks before your event. Contact information is in your confirmation packet.
Send balance due at least 30 days prior to camping date.

Camp Seawood is located on 38 acres of forests and wetlands on the outskirts of
Portsmouth, approximately five miles from many New Hampshire beaches.
Winterized lodges: Camp Seawood has two Lodges, Thaxter and Ranger’s Roost.
Thaxter Lodge has bunk beds which sleep up to 16, a kitchen with electric stove and
refrigerator, and year-round running water. The building is heated by a propane
furnace. (Fireplace and wood cook-stove are not available for use.) Ranger’s Roost
sleeps up to 16 on bunk beds in the upstairs carpeted sleeping loft. There is a full
kitchen, tables and chairs, TV/VCR, showers and flush toilets. Note: The bathroom in
Ranger’s Roost is also used by those staying in Thaxter Lodge.
Camping facilities include 7 units, each with a large screened Adirondack shelter, picnic
tables, and fire pits. Shelters sleep up to 10-12 Brownies or 5-10 older girls. There are
central pit latrines. Drinking water is available May 1 - October 31. There is space in
each unit area to pitch tents. Sandpiper unit is a barrier-free unit and wheelchair
accessible. A pavilion with electricity may be rented separately.

Planning on having a campfire? A cook fire? Any open outdoor burns?
Twin Hills is located in northwestern Vermont, in a largely wooded setting with a pond
(no swimming), ravines, cliffs, an orchard and hiking trails. A public road intersects the
property dividing the large pond from main camp.
Twin Hills is a primitive site with seven lean-tos. Each lean-to has a fire circle and picnic
tables for group usage. A large pavilion, with an old rock fireplace, is located near the
lean-tos. Ample area is available for tents.
The Pixie Cabin is a year-round option available for troops/groups. This cabin has a
fireplace, wood cook stove, and low sleeping loft that easily holds 16 people.

GSGWM arranges for a seasonal burn permit for each of our camps,
but YOU MUST check in with the local fire department before burning
EVERY DAY that you plan to burn. Fire permits are only good for class
1 and class 2 days (days with little or no fire danger). On Class 3, 4 and
5 days there is a high risk of fire and seasonal fire permits are
considered null and void. If you burn on a Class 3, 4 or 5 day, GSGWM
may lose their seasonal permit and the person lighting the fire may be
fined by the local fire department or State Fire Marshall.
Here is a list of phone numbers for troops/groups to check current fire
conditions at our camps. Please call the number below and ask for the
“fire danger classification” for your area before you light a cook fire,
campfire, or any outdoor flame. The dispatcher will tell you if it is okay
to light a fire.
NOTE: Please do not bring your own firewood. Insects and diseases can be in, on or under the bark of firewood, or even deep
within the wood itself. Transporting firewood can move pests
that ordinarily travel slowly on their own hundreds of miles in a
single day.
