The Radio Frequency(RF) module will count the pulse, convert into digital reading and transmit to collector through communication system. Collector transmit to concentrator by Radio Frequency(RF). Concentrator transmit the data into utility management software in the server through communication system. Communication method and components N Components of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI)- water Wide Area Network (WAN) • Transmits data between concentrator and utility head end • Solution specific protocols • Communication : GPRS, fixed line, Wireless Head end • Interfaces Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI ) solution to back office systems • Solution specific system Meter • Measures, collects, transmits and stores end-user consumption • Can be remotely configured Meter Data Management System (MDMS) • Central repository for meter data that can be accessed by a large number of groups and systems Local Area Network (LAN) • Transmits data between meters and the collector • Solution specific protocols. Emerging standards • Communication : PLC, fixed line, GPRS and wireless Billing • Interface with Meter Data Management System (MDMS) and drives control messages for meter. Uses (register) reads for billing process Concentrator • Collects, stores and transmits messages to and from multiple meter points • Solution specific devices
