Grits Fullerton Dinner Party for Six with Wine and Beer Enjoy a dinner party for up to six guests paired with wine and beer specially prepared for you by Chef Cody Storts of Grits in downtown Fullerton. Reservations are required and subject to a mutually agreeable date. Dinner parties are to be arranged on nights that Grits is not doing a dinner service unless other accommodations can be made with Chef. If you’ve not heard the name Cody Storts being whispered in certain epicurean circles, it’s only because he’s been keeping stealth, building his empire slowly from the ground up. After employment as a bartender at Stubrik’s and various restaurant management positions around town, this long-time Fullerton resident came to the realization that front of the house just wasn’t his mission in life. Polishing his acumen and techniques at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu in Los Angeles, Chef Cody has since been making great strides and flourishes as somewhat of a kitchen Ninja. Mounting a campaign to push the boundaries, he scoffs at the challenge of utilizing exotic ingredients or executing unorthodox pairings. His high-kicking conventions, limitless energy and passionate drive enabled him to concurrently head the culinary teams at The Lime Truck, Lamron Catering, Bourbon Street, Nieuport 17 and Hopscotch. With a personal mantra that “there are no rules” when it comes to inventiveness and creativity, Cody has finally achieved his dream of owning a spot of his own. Grits Fullerton is brought to life off the beaten Downtown Fullerton path and offers a home-style southern inspired brunch. Here he stays true to the “no rules” attitude that has made him a game changer in the OC culinary scene. Donated by Chef Cody Storts, Grits Fullerton 6. Donated by Oheka Castle Hotel and Estate Estimated Value: $395 Wine, Wine and MORE WINE (and Spirits, Beer, VIP Tastings...) 2000 2000 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Merlot - 1.5L Magnum 90 Pts Stephen Tanzer Super ripe aromas of chocolate syrup, mocha, tobacco and smoke, with a meaty nuance. Fat, thick and rich, with roasted currant and truffle flavors. Extremely lush and full in the mouth. Quite long, with smooth tannins. Pahlmeyer, in St. Helena, was founded in the mid-1980s when Jayson Pahlmeyer, a Bay Area lawyer, found he preferred thinking about wine to reading legal briefs. Pahlmeyer produced its debut vintage in 1986, and Robert M. Parker Jr. gave it 94 pts. Today the winery owns 88 acres near Atlas Peak and 30 acres on the north Sonoma Coast and grows Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Randy Dunn was in charge of winemaking for the first few vintages and in 1993 Helen Turley became Pahlmeyer’s winemaker. Today the winemakers are Kale Anderson at the Napa Valley vineyards and Bibiana Gonzalez Rave is the consulting winemaker for the Sonoma Coast vineyards. Pahlmeyer is known for its Bordeaux-style blends as well as Chardonnay, Merlot and Pinot Noir. The wines earn consistently complimentary reviews. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $300 2001 2009 Brewer-Clifton Gnesa Vineyard Chardonnay 93 Pts Stephen Tanzer Aromas of lime leaf, spearmint and nectarine followed by flavors of lemon curd, apricot and cardamom. Very taut and drying in the mouth which has come to be a very singular marking of this very particular site. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $60 2002 2009 Sanford La Rinconada Vineyard Pinot Noir 95 Pts Wine Enthusiast There's a grace and purity to this Pinot Noir that make it particularly recommendable. It's so light and silky, it just glides like a butterfly across the palate. But it's extraordinarily rich in wild raspberry and cherry fruit, and the white pepper and baking spices make it savory. Delicious now, but it should prosper over the next eight years, at least. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $75 2003 1997 Merryvale Profile Napa Valley Red 92 Pts Wine Enthusiast Here’s a rich, solid Cab from a good winery with a proven track record. Made in the Bordeaux style, with 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc, it’s got ripe black-currant and plum aromas and flavors and a solid dose of toasty new French oak. Very balanced and complex. The tannins are soft enough to drink it tonight, but it can also age, if you want. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $130 2004 1995 Cakebread Cellars Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 90 Pts Wine Spectator Cakebreads Napa Valley Cabernet shows elegant black cherry and dark berry fragrance, typical of the varietal, offset by notes of cassis, chocolate, herbs and cedar. On the palate the wine is characteristically soft and supple, with ripe fruit and oak notes set in a structure of balanced fruit and tannin. These flavors are confirmed on the finish, which is marked by ripe fruit and discreet impressions of spice. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $100 2005 1997 Chateau St. Jean Cinq Cépages 96 Pts Wine Spectator Ultrarich and chocolatey, with layers of cedar, plum, currant and black cherry, revealing uncommon depth and tiers of flavor as it picks up coffee, toffee and anise. Finishes with firm tannins. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $150 2006 2004 Philip Togni Vineyard Estate Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 95+ Pts Robert Parker Aromas of black olives, tapenade, crème de cassis, licorice and truffles emerge from this opaque ruby/purplecolored, youthful 2004. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $170 2007 1995 Lokoya Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon 92 Pts Wine Spectator A big, ripe and firmly tannic style, dense, chunky and chewy, but wade past the tannins and you'll get a glimpse of a complex, concentrated wine. Founded in 1995, Lokoya is another relatively new Napa Valley winery dedicated to the idea of making highlylimited production, prestigious Cabernet Sauvignons. Lokoya owns several vineyards in Napa Valley and also purchases grapes to make single vineyard or single appellation wines. The Cabernet Sauvignons produced by Lokoya are generally admired by reviewers and are usually available only by mailing list. The winery’s vineyards are in Howell Mountain, Mount Veeder, Diamond Mountain and Spring Mountain. Most of the acreage is planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, though small amounts of Chardonnay and Merlot also are grown. Annual production is about 2,200 cases. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $230 2008 2007 Snowden Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 97+ Pts Robert M. Parker Jr. The dazzling 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve (86% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Cabernet Franc) requires 25 more years of bottle age, but should evolve for three decades. Its dense purple color is accompanied by a thrilling bouquet of espresso roast, smoked herbs, licorice, crème de cassis, blackberries, and ink. The wine hits the palate with a blast of fruit, a full-bodied mouthfeel, and tremendous purity, definition, and length. The sensational purity and exquisite balance between all its elements are impressive as well as noteworthy. Snowden is east of the Silverado Trail in Napa Valley. The 24-acre estate has been the site of vineyards since the late 19th century and in 1955 it was purchased by Wayne and Virginia Snowden, who grew grapes for local wine producers. In 1981 the couple’s sons, Scott and Randy Snowden, took over the estate and replanted many vineyards. During the 1980s all the grapes went to Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars. In 1993 the brothers started producing their own wine under the family name while continuing to sell some of their grapes to local wineries. Today Snowden makes limited amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Petit Verdot. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $220 2009 2007 J. Rochioli South River Vineyard Estate Chardonnay 94 Pts International Wine Cellar Greenish-gold color. Intensely perfumed bouquet of lime, lemongrass, magnolia and orange peel. Fleshier orchard fruit and melon on the palate, with dusty citrus and mineral notes adding urgency. Manages to be both deep and lively, with excellent finishing cut and stony persistence. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $110 2010 2001 Silverado Limited Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 94 Pts Wine Enthusiast Another fabulous Cab from this supernatural vintage. It stuns for the ripeness of the blackcurrant, cherry and chocolate fruit, and the richness of the soft, sweet tannins. So easy to drink, yet never loses its sense of balance, harmony and complexity. Silverado Vineyards is in Yountville, in Napa Valley. It was founded in 1981 when Diane and Ron Miller purchased the property. Their inaugural releases were 1981 Chardonnays, Sauvignon Blancs and Cabernet Sauvignon. Today the estate owns 345 acres and makes a portfolio of wines, including Merlot and Sangiovese. Flagship wines remain the reserve Cabernet Sauvignons and Chardonnays. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $200 2011 2012 Calera Jensen Vineyard Pinot Noir 95+ Pts Antonio Galloni Beautifully integrated eccentric aromas of cherry, raspberry, red licorice, charcuterie and fine saddle leather lead into a soft round mouthful of black raspberry, rhubarb and a hint of steak blood. This wine is a fascinating combination of deep, tart fruit, tension from mineral and a savory, soy accent. This wine will gain even more complexity with time. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $150 2012 1993 Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 90 Pts Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate The color remains a healthy dark ruby/purple, and the nose offers earthy, toasty new oak, and sweet black fruit aromas. Tight, yet powerful and rich, this full-bodied, dense, atypically backward Cabernet Sauvignon does not possess Silver Oak's usual approachability and precociousness. Nevertheless, this wine has plenty of merit. These All-American Cabernet Sauvignons continue to be "can't miss" propositions with the majority of Cabernet lovers. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $165 2013 1998 Quintessa Napa Valley Red 89 Pts Stephen Tanzer Good deep red-ruby. Tarry blackcurrant, lead pencil, coffee, cedar and earth on the nose. Suave and intensely flavored, with firm acids giving shape to the flavors. Not as fat or ripe as the '97, but concentrated for the year. Finishes with firm-edged tannins and very good length. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $150 2014 1999 Far Niente Estate Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon The 1999 Cabernet displays substantial cassis and dark blackberry aromas that are mirrored on the palate with the extra density and depth that come from an excellent vintage and low vineyard production. The lush ripeness marries particularly well with the toasty char of the French oak. This wine has all the layers and structure typical of Far Niente Cabernet Sauvignon. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $200 2015 2006 Caymus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 92 Pts Wine Spectator Full-blown, ripe and rich, with intense and sharply focused dried currant, wild berry and blackberry fruit that’s still fairly tannic at this stage. Ends with a long, persistent finish. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $150 2016 2008 Nickel and Nickel Rock Cairn Cabernet Sauvignon 93 Pts Wine Advocate The 2008 Rock Cairn Cabernet Sauvignon continues to display the black cherry flavors with briary and black tea notes that have always defined the distinctive character of this vineyard. The toasty French oak adds spice, while the firm, yet supple, tannins of the vintage give depth and richness. This wine can be enjoyed now but will continue to evolve with cellaring into a classic Bordeaux-style wine. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $140 2017 1996 Cardinale Napa Valley Red 94 Pts Robert Parker The 1996 Cardinale is a blend of 89% Cabernet Sauvignon and 11% Merlot, of which 62% came from Napa and 38% from Sonoma. Just under 3,000 cases were produced. It is also a top rank wine, and a star of the vintage. A saturated purple color is followed by licorice, cedar, fruit cake, and black currant aromas. Full-bodied, powerful, and concentrated, with low acidity but high tannin, this young, muscular classic should have fabulous aging potential. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $180 2018 2010 Capture Wines Alliance Alexander Valley Red 93 Pts Robert Parker Beautiful bouquet of charcoal, black currants, underbrush, forest floor, flowers, lavender and coffee beans. Possesses elegance as well as authoritative richness, good acidity, abundant complexity, immediate accessibility. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $125 2019 2010 Hudson Vineyards Carneros Napa Valley Chardonnay 92 Pts Wine Advocate The 2010 Chardonnay is gorgeous. Layers of expressive, varietal fruit emerge from a rich, textured Chardonnay long on class and personality. Ripe peaches, orange blossoms, spices and butter all flesh out on the gorgeous, expressive finish. The 2010 was aged in French oak barrels, 80% new, with batonnage twice a month. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $80 2020 2010 Round Pond Estate Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon 92 Pts Wine Advocate The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is full of freshly cut flowers, violets, menthol crushed rocks and dark red cherries. There is a level of freshness and pure vibrancy in the 2010 that previous vintages don't have, most likely the result of the long, cool growing season. The balance of fruit, acidity and tannin is first-class. Nothing is out of place. In short, the 2010 Estate is gorgeous. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $80 2021 2011 Aubert Ritchie Vineyard Chardonnay 96 Pts The Wine Advocate The 2011 Chardonnay Ritchie Vineyard is utterly magnificent. I especially like the way the 2011 is at once unbelievably rich, but not at all heavy. Yellow stone fruit, light floral honey, nectarine and almonds inform the rich, oily finish. The 100% new barrels are imperceptible. All the elements are beautifully in place in this harmonious, voluptuous Chardonnay. This is a great, great showing from Mark Aubert. Aubert Wines produces what many consider California’s first “cult Chardonnay.” Mark Aubert is the owner and operator of the Calistoga-based winery, and his single-vineyard Chardonnays are regularly compared to Grand Cru Burgundies. Aubert, who grew up in Napa Valley and worked as the winemaker for Peter Michael and Colgin, bought seven acres of Chardonnay vineyards in the Sonoma Coast AVA in 2000. Since then he has also planted Pinot Noir in western Sonoma County. Robert M. Parker Jr. has written that “it is hard to find better Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs than those created by Mark Aubert under his Aubert label.” Production is extremely limited and the Aubert wines are generally available only through the winery’s mailing list. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $190 2022 2003 Cain Five Napa Valley The Cain Five is very round, smooth, and full-bodied. It is quite drinkable today, but it will develop in the next couple of years, and it is sure to last 15 or more years. Although the first notes are of mocha and vanilla, a very pure cassis is hiding in the background (which bodes well), and the full, sweet entry fills out to a satisfying midpalate, leading to a long, smooth finish. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $140 2023 2000 Niebaum-Coppola Rubicon Inglenook Estate 93 Pts Wine Spectator Beautifully crafted, rich, vibrant and deftly balanced. Wonderful currant, blackberry, anise, sage, mineral and fresh earth provide layers of complexity and concentration. Finishes with just the right amount of tannin to give it a solid backbone. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $160 2024 2005 Revana Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 92 Pts Robert Parker Deep plum/purple in color with a sweet nose of burning embers, charcoal, black currants, and some subtle smoked herbs, the wine again displays terrific aromatic complexity and a full-bodied, nicely layered palate impression, with integrated acidity, tannin, alcohol, and wood. It is a slightly deeper, richer wine than the 2004, and the tannins seem slightly more elevated, but this wine has great balance, and just needs 1-2 years of bottle age. It should actually eclipse the 2004 in 3-4 years. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $170 2025 2002 Hestan Vineyards Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 95 Pts Robert Parker Hestan’s 2002 is a 275-case cuvee of very impressive Cabernet Sauvignon. This dense, opaque blue/purplecolored offering’s smoky, graphite, black currant, and berry-scented nose is gently infused with notions of toast and spice box. Full-bodied, opulent, pure, and expansive, this layered wine exhibits a seamless integration of wood, acid, and tannin. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $180 2026 1998 Robert Mondavi Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 92 Pts Wine Enthusiast Soft and succulent blackberry and cassis fruit upfront, framed by squeaky clean tannins and solid oak elements. This is most notable for its voluptuous, velvety texture, which coats the palate with sweet flavors. It’s not a big wine but a balanced, harmonious one, and a success for the vintage. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $110 2027 2008 Linked Vineyards Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 93 Pts Wine Enthusiast This is a very expensive Cabernet, but it also tastes dramatic and powerful. The chocolate, blackberry, currant and oak flavors are massive, while the tannin-acid structure is just about perfect. Feels as lush as California Cab gets, but never loses integrity or balance. Should age well for the next 10 years. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $130 2028 2011 Carlisle Hayne Vineyard Zinfandel 94 Pts Wine Advocate Another addition to the lineup, the 2011 Zinfandel Hayne Vineyard is laced with expressive dark fruit, smoke, tar, licorice and cedar. Plush, deep, and beautifully balanced, the 2011 finishes with a gorgeous burst of blue and black fruit, violets, graphite and asphalt buttressed by vibrant minerality. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $100 2029 2003 Behrens & Hitchcock The Heavyweight Napa Valley Red 91 Pts Stephen Tanzer Ruby-red. Fresh aromas of cassis and violet. Lush and sweet, with enticing flavors of black cherry, violet, licorice and bitter chocolate. Finishes broad and round, with fine tannins. Sexy wine, from Thorvilos and Madrona Ranch fruit. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $115 2030 1996 Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 92 Pts Robert Parker The dark ruby-colored 1996 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley exhibits a pronounced smoky, espresso bean, and kirsch-scented nose. Round, dense, rich, full-bodied, and open-knit, its low acid flavors are undeniably appealing. Black olives make an appearance in the wine's aromatics as it sits in the glass. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $125 2031 2010 Joseph Phelps Eisrebe - 375ml Half-bottle 92 Pts International Wine Cellar "Pale gold. Peach, apricot, orange oil and clove on the come-hither nose. Sweet and concentrated but juicy rather than thick, with bracing acidity (11 grams per liter!) and a saline quality leavening the exotic orange, pineapple and tangy apricot fruit flavors. Slightly high-toned but very pure, penetrating and light on its feet-and long on the aftertaste. A lovely sweet wine." Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $70 2032 2007 Modicum Napa Valley Red The Modicum label is the “house wine” for the world famous French Laundry Restaurant located in Napa Valley, California. These bottling are a collaborative project between Chef Thomas Keller and Master Sommelier, Paul Roberts. The meaning of modicum is “a small amount of something unique.” To the winemaker, Modicum represents a small amount of the very best fruit that they can locate. The 2007 Napa Valley Red Wine from St. Helena is a blend of three organic vineyards in the St. Helena AVA, which are planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. The unique terroir of each site is apparent in the complexity of this blend. The backbone of the blend is from a rocky, high elevation parcel east of the city of St. Helena. Two vineyards in the western hills of the appellation complete the blend: one parcel is north of the St. Helena city limits planted in dusty red soil, and the other is nestled against the base of Spring Mountain along an alluvial plain filled with decomposed river rocks. Less than 200 cases of the 2007 St. Helena Red Wine were produced, making it one of the rarest Napa Valley wines of any vintage. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $190 2033 2006 Pax Alder Springs Vineyard Syrah 93 Pts Robert Parker The two cuvees from the Alder Springs Vineyard include the 2006 Syrah Alder Springs Vineyard, which is 100% Syrah with 75% whole clusters utilized. It is a generous style of wine, with loads of fruit that expresses the character of the vintage in its front-end loaded ripeness and headiness. Big, sweet fig, tobacco leaf, blackberry, and cassis notes with some spice and earth are all present in this beautifully rich wine. Exciting wines seem to emerge annually from Pax Mahle, a self-trained winemaker (and all the better for it), and owner Joe Donelan. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $100 2034 2002 Switchback Ridge Peterson Family Vineyard Petite Syrah 96 Pts Robert M. Parker Jr. Gorgeous aromas of black fruits, white chocolate, pepper, minerals, and a hint of espresso. Opulent, with beautifully integrated acidity, tannin, and wood, this remarkably civilized Petite Syrah is crammed with rich fruit. Switchback Ridge is in Calistoga. The 100-acre property near Dutch Henry Canyon has been in the Peterson Family since the early 20th century, though for much of that time it was primarily a farm and plum orchard. That changed in 1990 when the orchards were replanted to vineyards. Today there are nearly 18 acres planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petite Syrah. The estate is owned and operated by John and Joyce Peterson, and the winemaker is Robert Foley, who is well-known in Napa Valley for he has made wine for Pride Mountain Vineyards as well as his own label. Switchback is known for its Cabs and Merlots, and the estate’s wines have earned high compliments from Wine Advocate and Wine Spectator. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $190 2035 2000 Duckhorn Vineyards Napa Valley Merlot 92 Pts Wine & Spirits Magazine Plump black fruit aromas and warm baking spices mingle on this inviting nose. Flavors are full of warm California sun - they're big ripe and juicy, with clove, blackberry, toast and black cherry. Clean and well balanced wine, worthy of Duckhorn's name as a Merlot of quality. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $90 2036 2002 Gemstone Facets Proprietary Red Napa Valley 90 Pts Robert Parker A preliminary blend of the 2002 Facets One was tasted, and it certainly shows the vintage’s power, richness, and exuberant character. It possesses a deep purple color as well as a big, smoky, earthy, full-bodied style displaying notions of black fruits, cappuccino, and wood smoke along with loads of power and richness. Less delineated (of course, it’s one year younger) than the 2001, with sweeter tannin as well as higher alcohol, it unquestionably has outstanding potential. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $130 2037 2009 Grace Family Estate Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 90+ Pts Stephen Tanzer Crushed black cherry, chocolate and violet on the aromatic nose. Juicy and cool in the mouth, with black fruit and licorice flavors currently cut off by slightly dry, edgy tannins. Like other family-founded wineries in Napa Valley, Grace Family Vineyards started small, more a dream than a business. It was 1976 and San Francisco stockbroker Richard Grace and his wife bought an old home in St. Helena to raise their family in the country. The couple planted a one-acre vineyard and two years later harvested their first real crop, which they sold to Caymus Vineyard. The Grace family’s grapes were used by Caymus until 1983, when the Grace Family started making their own wine. These days the Graces cultivate a number of vineyards, though production remains highly limited. Only Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are grown, and Grace Family wines are 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. The wines are prized for their opulence and rich flavors. They are generally available only through a mailing list. Annual production is 200 cases. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $300 2038 2005 Harlan Estate "The Maiden" 97 Pts Wine Enthusiast Massive, decadent. Opens with extraordinary aromas of cedar, black currants, cherries, chocolate, sage, pepper and anise, with hints of roasted game. Feels very round, smooth but powerful. Almost sweet in red and black currants and chocolate. So refined, absolutely delicious. Beautiful, lush, complex, soft. Founded in 1984 in the western hills of Oakville, Napa Valley, Harlan Estate is one of the fabled “Cult Cabs” that came of age in the 1990s. Along with such Cult Cabs as Screaming Eagle, Abreu, Araujo and Colgin, Harlan helped set the bar for extremely rich, complex and hard to acquire California Cabs. Harlan Estate founder William Harlan has said that part of his mission in founding the winery was “to create a first growth of California.” Robert M. Parker Jr. has written that Harlan wines possess “all the elements of greatness – individuality, power combined with elegance, extraordinary complexity, remarkable aging potential and compelling richness without ponderousness.” The estate’s 36 acres of vineyards are planted in Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. About 1,800 to 2,000 cases of Harlan Estate are produced annually. Also produced annually are 10,000 bottles of The Maiden, a Cabernet Sauvignon blend. Estimated Value: $300 2039 2001 Jordan Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon 88 Pts Wine Spectator A rich, elegantly styled Cabernet, with generous ripe plum, black cherry, herb and fresh earth notes that are vibrant and complex. Excellent balance, finishing with a long, clean aftertaste. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $90 2040 1998 Chateau Montelena Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 93 Pts Robert Parker "The 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate (13,000 cases) will disprove all the naysayers about how bad the vintage was in the North Coast. It possesses an opaque ruby/purple color, a gorgeous perfume of loamy soil, new saddle leather, chocolate, and black cherry and black currant fruit, full body, and ripe tannin in the finish. As it sits in the glass, notes of cedar and spice box also emerge. Kudos to the Barretts for producing this impressive 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon, one of the vintage's few stars. " Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $150 2041 2009 Joseph Phelps Backus Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 94+ Pts The Wine Advocate Hints of tobacco, crushed flowers, new leather and spices add complexity to the inky black fruit. Firm, powerful tannins. A wine that begs for cellaring. Phelps is best known for Insignia, its flagship Napa Valley blend of red Bordeaux varieties first produced in 1974. Awarded Wine Spectator’s “Wine of the Year” in 2005, Insignia is widely regarded as a qualitative benchmark for California winemaking. Besides Cabernet Sauvignon and small amounts of Petit Verdot, Merlot and Malbec, Phelps also grows Chardonnay, Syrah, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Scheurebe. The estate produces 50,000 cases annually from Napa Valley and an additional 15,000 cases from the Sonoma Coast. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $280 2042 2011 Occidental Station Cuvee Catherine Pinot Noir 94 Pts Stephen Tanzer A heady, complex bouquet evokes black raspberry and boysenberry preserves, smoky Indian spices and cola. Occidental is a Pinot Noir brand established by the celebrated winemaker Steve Kistler, founder and winemaker at Kistler Vineyards. Occidental plans to make a maximum of 7,500 cases annually of Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. To do that Occidental in 2013 completed a state-of-the-art production facility near Bodega next to the Bodega Headlands Vineyard. Kistler, long admired for his Kistler label Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, has earned extraordinary reviews for his Occidental wines. Robert M. Parker Jr. rated one of the 2012 cuvees at 98 pts and called it “profound….this wine reminded me of my earlier days in Burgundy tasting the Grand Cru Musigny.” The wines are available primarily by mailing list. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $190 2043 2001 Martinelli Jackass Vineyard Zinfandel 94 Pts Robert Parker California’s most expensive as well as famous Zinfandel, Martinelli’s 2001 Zinfandel Jackass Hill Vineyard (15.8% alcohol) is produced from a 3-acre parcel planted on a 45 degree slope. Its dark garnet color is accompanied by gorgeous aromas of melons, black cherry liqueur, raspberries, and plums. Full-bodied, with a seamless integration of acidity, tannin, and alcohol as well as a 45-second finish, this beauty is one of the vintage’s top successes. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $75 2044 2009 Pisoni Estate Vineyards Pinot Noir 91 Pts Wine Advocate The 2009 Pinot Noir Pisoni is a big wine with powerful tannins that frame a core of dark, black fruit. Today it is the structural elements that dominate the wine’s balance, but this could merit a higher score if the fruit begins to emerge. My sense is that the new oak (65%) may be a bit on the high side. The Pisoni was made from four separate blocks and vinified with 20% whole clusters. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $125 2045 2012 Kosta Browne Koplen Vineyard Pinot Noir 93 Pts The Wine Advocate Edgy, vibrant feel with its plum and sweet black cherry fruits, charred spices and licorice giving way to hints of spring flowers and mint. Layered, beautifully pure and defined, with bight, yet integrated acidity. Kosta Browne Winery, in Sebastopol, California, was founded in 1997 when Dan Kosta and Michael Browne pooled their money to buy a half ton of Pinot Noir grapes and a used barrel and grape crusher. The men had been colleagues at a Santa Rosa restaurant, but dreamt of making their own wine. In 2001 they teamed up with Chris Costello, who provided the winemaking pair with a business plan and operational support. Today the three partners still run Kosta Browne, which does not have its own vineyards but sources grapes from the Russian River, Sonoma Coast and Santa Lucia Highlands regions. Kosta Browne makes only Pinot Noir, and has in little more than a decade developed a strong following for its wines, which are generally single vineyard bottling. Most Kosta Browne wines are sold through their mailing list. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $190 2046 2004 Hourglass Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 94 Pts Robert M. Parker Jr. Beautiful aromas of melted licorice, white chocolate, crème de cassis, flowers, and background oak soar from this bewitching, opulent, fleshy, succulent Cabernet. Hourglass is a Napa Valley winery with vineyards in St. Helena and Calistoga. It is owned and operated by Jeff Smith and his wife Carolyn. The Hourglass debut release was in 1997. With additional investors they purchased more property in 2006 and built a state-of-the-art winery. Bob Foley is the winemaker and the estate grows Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec. The estate’s flagship wine is Cabernet Sauvignon. Robert M. Parker Jr. has written that the Hourglass wines are “frequently brilliant.” Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $230 2047 2011 Beringer Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 91 Pts Stephen Tanzer Bright red-ruby. Cassis, licorice, graphite, peppery herbs and tobacco leaf on the nose, plus a whiff of chocolate mint. Classic youthfully medicinal cabernet; densely packed and pliant, with a light touch to the flavors of cassis, blueberry, menthol and graphite. Suave, energetic wine with easygoing tannins and a hint of youthful bitterness that's nicely supported by the wine's texture and sweetness. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $175 2048 2009 Maybach Materium 95+ Pts The Wine Advocate This wine reveals lots of minerality along with sweet red and black currants, licorice, graphite and spring flowers. Deep and full-bodied, it is displaying a lot of tannin in addition to a reserved, backward, brooding style. Maybach Family Vineyards in Oakville is named after the family’s early 20th-century patriarch, Wilhelm Maybach, a German inventor who designed and built the first Mercedes automobiles. Now some of his descendants are making a single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from a hillside vineyard above the Silverado Trail. Called Materium, the 100% Cab has earned praise from Robert M. Parker Jr., among others, who calls it “serious wine.” Fewer than 500 cases are produced annually. Thomas Rivers Brown is the winemaker. Maybach is also making Sonoma Coast Chardonnay with a Burgundian style. About 60 cases are produced each year. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $350 2049 2006 Kongsgaard Napa Valley Syrah 95 Pts Robert Parker The 2006 Syrah Hudson Vineyard jumps out of the glass with its notes of scorched earth, beef blood, blackberries, black olives, spring flowers, coffee, and roasted meats. Incredibly textured, rich, full-bodied, and long, this beauty must be tasted to be believed. It should evolve for 15 or more years, although few purchasers will be able to defer their gratification. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $170 2050 2002 Martinelli Moonshine Ranch Pinot Noir 93 Pts Wine Spectator Delicious from the first sip, this is a bold, ripe, richly flavored wine, with a flash of toasty oak preceding a fleshy core of ripe plum, blackberry and raspberry flavors. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $175 2053 2011 Aubert Ritchie Vineyard Pinot Noir 95 Pts The Wine Advocate Dark cherries, cloves, new leather, licorice and asphalt are all woven together beautifully. It possesses stunning detail, nuance and freshness. Rose petals, violets and plums all grace a finish that stands out for its total elegance. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $180 2059 2012 Saxum Terry Hoage Vineyard 97 Pts The Wine Advocate Up front, approachable and sexy feel in its cherry blossom and black raspberry fruit, crushed flowers and spice aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, concentrated and with sweet tannin. Saxum Vineyards is located in the Paso Robles AVA of Central California. Founded in the early 2000s by Justin Smith, a young winemaker who had previously been part-owner of Linne Calodo, Saxum leapt into the limelight in late 2010 when its 2007 James Berry Vineyards wine was named the #1 Wine of 2010 by Wine Spectator. The wine is a Rhone style blend of Grenache, Mourvedre and Syrah. Like most of the so-called Central California Coast “Rhone Rangers,” Saxum specializes in Rhone Valley style blends. The intense sunshine and relatively steep and rocky terrain of the Paso Robles AVA, which was officially recognized in 1983, is similar to the terrain of the Rhone Valley. Smith owns the winery with his wife Heather, and produces up to 2,800 cases of wine a year. There are currently five cuvees. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $190 2060 2006 Kistler Vineyard Pinot Noir 92 Pts Robert Parker The seductive, soft 2006 Pinot Noir Kistler Vineyard does not reveal the complexity of the two previous 2005s. Martini Monte Rosso Vineyard Selection Cabernet Sauvignon 94 Pts Wine Enthusiast Blended with 6 percent Merlot. Aged 26 months in French, other European and American barrels to soften tannins, add vanilla subtlety, better expose the fruit. In the nose and on the palate discover layered flavors of anise, spice, plum, berries, cherries with nuances of leather and soft oak. A well-knit big wine with a firm balance. World-class craftsmanship; big time wine. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $90 2062 1998 Dalla Valle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 94 Pts Robert Parker The spectacular, full-bodied 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon (2,000 cases from a blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon and 12% Cabernet Franc) possesses great character, richness, and black currant fruit intermixed with licorice, tobacco, and smoke. While not as opulent as some vintages, it is exceptionally concentrated, long, and reminiscent of a ripe Bordeaux from a top vintage. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $160 2063 1991 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 93 Pts Robert M. Parker Jr. It is a huge, rich, powerful wine with great depth, as well as a boat-load of tannin. Randy Dunn began making wine while studying oenology at the University of California at Davis, and he never stopped. Dunn worked for years at Caymus and in 1978 he and his wife purchased a vineyard on Howell Mountain in Napa Valley. In 1979 the couple started their winery and released their first Cabernet Sauvignon in 1981. Dunn Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain is recognized as one of the most consistent, massive and well-made wines in Napa Valley. The vineyards are in the Howell Mountain district which, at 2,000 feet above sea level, gets more sun and less fog than vineyards on the valley floor. Rich volcanic soil is part of the terroir. Dunn’s vineyards are planted entirely to Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and the oldest vineyard was planted in 1972. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $230 2064 2007 Sine Qua Non “To The Rescue” Grenache Vin de Paille - 375ml Half-bottle 96 Pts Robert M. Parker Jr. The 2007 "To the Rescue" Grenache Vin de Paille appears to be a much improved version of the 2005 Grenache Vin de Paille I tasted last year. It possesses 295 grams of residual sugar per liter as well as remarkable acidity, sweetness, and richness, an inky/purple color, and classic aromas of cassis. In spite of its weight, intensity, and unctuosity, the wine is surprisingly delicate and nuanced on the palate. Founded in 1994 by Manfred and Elaine Krankl in Ventura, on California's Central Coast, the winery is the epitome of an artisanal, cult winery. The husband-and-wife team makes mostly Rhone-style reds and whites in very limited quantities using such grapes as Syrah, Grenache, Pinot Noir, Roussane, and Viognier. The couple pays meticulous attention to their winemaking and uses little or no fining or filtration. Robert M. Parker Jr. has called Sine Qua Non "one of the world's most creative wineries" and one that "is turning out world-class wines of extraordinary complexity and individuality. The Krankl husband-and-wife team remains wholly dedicated to the pursuit of perfection." Sine Qua Non is also unusual in that the Krankls like to give wild, sometimes outlandish names to their wines, and they often change wine names with each vintage. They have christened their wines with such names as "The Hussy" and "In Flagrante," and the labels generally are as distinctive as the wines. Donated by A Friend of FTF Estimated Value: $250 2065 2006 Sine Qua Non “To The Rescue” Roussanne Vin de Paille - 375ml Half-bottle 98 Pts Robert M. Parker Jr. The 2006 "To the Rescue" Roussanne Vin de Paille has 290 grams of residual sugar per liter. Despite its aging in 100% new oak, there is not a hint of wood to be found in the aromas or flavors. This remarkable sweet white exhibits abundant aromas of orange marmalade, rose petals, honeysuckle, brown sugar, and spice. It looks like 10W40 motor oil, but its ample acidity provides uplift and vibrancy to its enormously endowed, sweet personality. Donated by Bourbon Street Bar & Grill and Fullerton Cares Autism Foundation Estimated Value: $185 3003 2008 Beaulieu Vineyard Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 93 Pts The Wine Advocate Another brilliant offering is the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Georges de Latour Private Reserve. It possesses a dense ruby/purple color along with terrific structure, lots of crème de cassis, minerality, beautiful purity of black currants and cherries, a judicious touch of oak, and a full-bodied, structural profile that is almost Bordeaux-like. Handcrafted with cutting-edge winemaking worthy of our highest quality grapes, the 2008 Beaulieu Vineyard Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon displays exceptionally complex, harmonious flavors. The deep aromas and expansive flavors are filled with blackberry, cassis, dark plum, mocha, black licorice and sweet, toasted oak spices. Barrel fermentation of a portion of the must (crushed grapes) in French oak barrels resulted in early integration of the opulent dark-fruit and new-oak character. This technique also enhanced the dense, rich texture and gave suppleness to the muscular tannins, while retaining long aging potential. This is our flagship wine to enjoy with life's most important celebrations. Donated by Bourbon Street Bar & Grill and Fullerton Cares Autism Foundation Estimated Value: $570 3004 12 Year Old Scotches Two Bottles Aberfeldy Single Malt Scotch - After we blend our DEWAR'S Blended Scotch Whisky, we return it to the vintage oak casks so it can mature a little more. Highland Park Single Malt Scotch Whiskey - The expression that started it all for Highland Park. First introduced I n1979, the 12 year old is at the very heart of our core range and demonstrates rich, well balanced malty tones, with the subtle floral smoke which makes Highland Park such a distinctive single malt whiskey. Donated by Bourbon Street Bar & Grill and Fullerton Cares Autism Foundation Estimated Value: $55 3010 Roca Patron Two Bottles Roca Patron Silver - While a 5% increase in ABV over the traditional Patron Silver might not seem like a lot, in the spirits world it's considerable. From the nose on the Roca Silver, you'd never guess that it's a high proof tequila as it's actually considerably less "in your face" than the traditional Patron Silver. One of the things that makes the traditional Patron Silver so distinct is its nose, which showcases rich cooked agave, distinct citrus, and strong white pepper. Roca Patron Silver is absent of many of these signature aromas. Roca Patron Silver is primarily a showcase for agave, with both fresh and cooked agave with a slight earthy undertone. There's a light pepper but it's a lot softer and lighter than traditional silver. Patron's signature citrus isn't there on the nose, which is overall lighter and more delicate. Roca Patron Anejo - Of all the Roca releases, the Anejo is perhaps the closest cousin to Patron's Gran Piedra release, although Roca Anejo was aged for only 14 months (versus 3 years for Piedra) and only in ex-bourbon barrels (Piedra added French oak to the mix). With Roca Anejo the time in barrel is clear with oak spice as one of the leading top notes in the nose. Other barrel notes including caramel, vanilla, and a touch of cinnamon are here on the nose and they are well integrated with the fresh and roasted agave notes which are a signature part of the Roca line. There's a touch of pepper spice in the mix, but it's the oak that's much more dominant. Donated by Bourbon Street Bar & Grill and Fullerton Cares Autism Foundation Estimated Value: $160 3011 Deleon Tequila Two Bottles Deleon Platinum Tequila - Exquisite highland agave is slowly roasted in traditional clay ovens for a subtle taste profile with a whisper of sweet agave, citrus, warm spice and smooth vanilla on the finish. Deleon Reposado Tequila - The finest highland Tequila is gently aged in bold American Oak and then finished in delicate French Oak wine casks creating a balanced profile, with vanilla, dried fruit, and a hint of spice on the finish. A combination of French wine casks and American white oak casks are used to achieve the ideal flavor complexity and rich aromatics. As George himself would have said, it's "Mellow as Moonlight." Michter's Small Batch American Whiskey - Michter's US1 Bourbon is made from a carefully selected mashbill that features the highest quality American corn. It is then matured to the peak of perfection, with barrels often aging in excess of eight years. Truly "small batch," each batch of our US1 Bourbon is typically composed of no more than two dozen barrels, leaving no margin for "blending out" imperfection and thus necessitating excellence from every barrel. Reflecting the spirit of the Bluegrass State, Michter's US1 Kentucky Straight Bourbon is nuanced, mellow, and earthy. High West American Prairie Reserve Whisky - A subtle, albeit pleasant, nose on the first pour. Opens up into a floraled butter corn, cotton candy, and fruit nose. Candy sweetness is the first thing which explodes on your tongue. Super sweet, but it has a relatively dry mouthful throughout, meaning the sweetness does not overtake the senses in a more syrupy bourbon. The short rye spice and pecan pie finish is a good thing in this case, never overwhelming. The aging process is meticulously followed by our Master Distiller to achieve perfection in each type of Campeon Tequila. Campeon Tequila insists on using exclusively "Blue Agave de superior" from the uppermost regions in The Highlands of Jalisco. When you look closely at our Tequilas, our aged products are lighter color than what you may be used to in other Anejo and Reposado tequila. We don't believe in using overly charred barrels which impart their own flavor, easily masking a high quality, or flawed product. You'll see our light straw color which comes not from the barrel but from caramelizing the Blue Agave. Our barrel aging softens and adds depth and layers, but you'll never see our product's exceptional flavor masked by woody barrel overtones. You will taste the thick, aged agave juice, aged to perfection. Donated by Bourbon Street Bar & Grill and Fullerton Cares Autism Foundation Estimated Value: $570 3029 Wild Turkey Whisky Package Two Bottles Wild Turkey Kentucky Straight Rye Whisky - Wild Turkey starting making rye about 25 years or so ago and it was a boutique product compared to the Bourbon side of things. A few years back rye saw a big spike in popularity and as a result Wild Turkey 101 Rye fell into short supply. In 2012 Wild Turkey introduced a younger lower proof rye with its Wild Turkey 81 Rye. The problem was simply supply had run short and Wild Turkey needed time to age more barrels. Wild Turkey 101 Rye is about 6-7 years old, but lacks an official age statement. Supply finally started to catch up late 2013 and Wild Turkey introduced a new 1-liter bottle of Wild Turkey 101 Rye. Wild Turkey Forgiven - This small-batch, limited-edition whiskey was made from a unique, hand-selected blend of 6-year-old bourbon and rare, high-proof rye whiskies. The bourbon and rye flavors complement the best of each other to create a bold, creamy vanilla and oak opening, and a long, smooth finish with hints of pepper, clove and cinnamon. Donated by Bourbon Street Bar & Grill and Fullerton Cares Autism Foundation Estimated Value: $85 3033 Beaulieu Vineyard Georges de Latour Private Reserve 2008 93 Pts The Wine Advocate Another brilliant offering is the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Georges de Latour Private Reserve. Donated by Bourbon Street Bar & Grill and Fullerton Cares Autism Foundation Estimated Value: $120 3038 Jack Daniels Sinatra Bottled at 90 proof, and made with unique "Sinatra Barrels," Jack Daniel's Sinatra Select pays tribute to Jack's biggest fan: Mr. Frank Sinatra. These Sinatra barrels have deep grooves on the inside of the staves - which exposes the whiskey to extra layers of oak. This imparts a rich amber color, bold character and a pleasant smokiness, followed by an incredibly smooth vanilla finish. Much like Frank himself, this whiskey is one of a kind. Donated by Bourbon Street Bar & Grill and Fullerton Cares Autism Foundation Estimated Value: $200 3039 Bourbon Package Calumet Farm Bourbon - Bottled from hand selected barrels, Calumet has a customary mash bill of corn, rye and malted barley that offers a sweet, flawless finish. Glowing with butterscotch and soft oak, Calumet's harmonious perfection of wood and caramel is admirably balanced with complex flavors of light brown sugar and soft white pepper. Woodford Reserve Master's Collection Sonoma-Cutrer Finish - The Woodford Reserve Master's Collection Sonoma-Cutrer Pinot Noir Finish is the latest in product innovation from Woodford Reserve, and marks the ninth release in the series. The Sonoma-Cutrer Pinot Noir Finish was produced by taking a batch of mature Woodford Reserve and finishing the spirit in Pinot Noir barrels freshly emptied and shipped from California's famed Sonoma-Cutrer Winery. Booker's Bourbon - Booker's Bourbon is a rare barrel strength bourbon, bottled uncut and unfiltered. But you obviously know a good bit about bourbon, because you don't end up here by mistake. We don't advertise or do social media. We just do bourbon. We focus on the sweet spot. The center of the rack house where the temperature and humidity stars align to create the deepest and most intense flavors. Once it's aged to perfection, which always varies, the liquid is bottled uncut and unfiltered. We don't add, we don't water drown, and we don't apologize for it. For some people, it may be way you much. But for the true bourbon fans, it's probably the best savoring on the rocks with a twist of lime. Donated by Bourbon Street Bar & Grill and Fullerton Cares Autism Foundation Estimated Value: $240 3040 Coldcock American Herbal Whiskey American Herbal Whiskey is Kentucky bourbon blended with a variety of meaningful herbs including green tea, hibiscus, ginger and eucalyptus. With half the sugar of other flavored whiskies. Donated by Bourbon Street Bar & Grill and Fullerton Cares Autism Foundation Estimated Value: $84 3041 Apple Flavored Whisky Bonnie Rose Spiced Apple White Tennessee Whisky (One Bottle) - Our bold Spiced Apple flavor has real, plucked-from-the-orchard taste, extracted from a barrelful of the juiciest apples, and mixed with real spices from exotic locales. That ripe apple essence gives BONNIE ROSE a hint of sweetness and a whole lot of attitude. And you know what gives Spiced Apple a real kick? It's our Tennessee white corn whisky, distilled the old-fashioned way: in copper pot stills, just like nature intended. Our special mash uses 80% white corn so Spiced Apple is smooth to drink, with character and flavor by the barrel. Serpent's Bite Apple Cider Flavored Whisky (Two Bottles) - The new apple cider-flavored whisky is a balance of sweet, crisp apple cider flavors with smooth whisky, the company says. It has notes of Red Delicious apples and undertones of ripe pear and spices with a kick of whisky character. Donated by Bourbon Street Bar & Grill and Fullerton Cares Autism Foundation Estimated Value: $70 3042 Patron XO Café Pack Patron XO Cafe - A dark, delicious blend of Patrón Silver Tequila and the essence of fine coffee. Dry, not sweet as with most low-proof coffee liqueurs. Excellent for sipping, in cocktails or as a dessert ingredient. Color: Dark, rich brown Aroma: Fresh coffee, chocolate & vanilla Taste: Fresh roasted coffee with notes of chocolate & light tequila Finish: Smooth, yet dry Patron XO Cafe Dark Cocoa - A dark, delicious blend of Patrón Silver Tequila with the essence of fine coffee and Criollo chocolate. Dry, not sweet as with most low-proof coffee liqueurs. Excellent for sipping, in cocktails or as a dessert ingredient. Color: Rich, dark brown Aroma: Fresh coffee & cocoa Taste: Coffee with notes of rich chocolate & light tequila Finish: Smooth, yet dry Donated by Bourbon Street Bar & Grill and Fullerton Cares Autism Foundation Estimated Value: $60 3043 The Glenrothes Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky Pack Two Bottles Sherry Cask Reserve - The Glenrothes Sherry Cask Reserve is the first release from this distillery to be matured entirely in first-fill sherry casks – predominantly European oak. Unlike most of the others, it doesn’t have a vintage indication, nor an age statement. Nose: raisins and plenty of all-spice / gingerbread notes. Oranges with cloves. Cinnamon. Some nutty notes too (hazelnut, almond). Honey in the background. Mouth: woody in the sense that it revolves around ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon and other spices. Toasted oak, roasted nuts and a big sugary side, mainly caramelized sugar. Lacks a bit of a sparkle maybe. Finish: not too long with very similar flavours. Alba Reserve - The Glenrothes normal wood policy uses a combination of Spanish and American oak, seasoned with sherry, bourbon and malt Scotch. For this expression John Ramsay has used Glenrothes matured exclusively in American oak refill bourbon casks. It therefore delivers coconut and vanilla in abundance, and is soft and mellow with a crème brulée flavour and feel. Quercus Alba is the Latin name for White (or American) oak; and Alba is the Gaelic word for Scotland. After we blend our DEWAR’S 12 Blended Scotch Whisky, we return it to vintage oak casks, allowing the whiskies to age together and harmonize to perfection. This extra step makes DEWAR’S 12 Blended Scotch Whisky an even smoother blend with a long, lingering finish. Dewar's "The Monarch" 15 Year Old Blended Scotch Whisky - Called “The Monarch,” after a famous 1851 painting by Sir Edwin Lancaster called “The Monarch of the Glen,” DEWAR’S 15 Year Old is a blend of rare and exclusive Highland single malt whiskies. The blend is then married in oak casks for a light, velvety finish and notes of honey, fruit and floral. Dewar's "The Vintage" 18 Year Old Blended Scotch Whisky - DEWAR’S 18 Blended Scotch Whisky is a blend of very rare vintage single malt and single grain Scotch whiskies, hence the nickname, “The Vintage.” Each bottle includes whiskies from the five single malt distilleries owned by John Dewar and Sons. Donated by Ledson Winery & Vineyards and VJB Vineyard & Cellars Estimated Value: $220 4028 The Octoberfest Jagermeister Gift Set Donated by Dr. Craig Choi Bertsch and Mrs. Kerrie Torres Estimated Value: $100 4029 Two Excellent Red Wines This package includes one bottle of each of the following red wines: 2011 Silver Oak Alexander Valley (90 Pts Wine Enthusiast) - This wine is a break from the tradition of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, instead it was blended with 7% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Petit Verdot, due to the challenge of the 2011 vintage. Aromatic and open on the nose, baker's chocolate, ripe fruit, raspberry, black cherry fruit, hints of mocha and earth, more of the same on the palate, medium/big body, Merlot evident today on the mid palate, bright forward tasting fruit, delicious, ready to enjoy, long finish with a hint of oak. 2005 Chateau Montelena Estate Cabernet Sauvignon (92 Pts Robert Parker) - Dark and powerful in the glass with great density and saturation, this wine grabs your attention from the first glance. Luscious and rich on the nose with great depth, we find top notes of violets, cassis, and rich dark cherry, all riding over a base of warm leather, cocoa, wet stone and molasses. The palate opens with red raspberry and blackcurrants before building to mouth-filling rip cherry, a beautiful acid balance, and round rich velvety tannins. The incredible intensity of the palate fades slowly leaving a finish of dried fruits and hints of clove with remarkable weight and tremendous persistence. Donated by Rolling Hills School PTA Estimated Value: $232 4030 Five White Wines in a Crate This package includes one bottle of each of the following white wines and presented to you in a crate: 2014 Trader Joe's Petit Reserve Pinot Grigio - The grapes for this wine are estate grown on a single vineyard in the heart of Monterey County. There, the cool/warm/dry/damp climate, with rocky, rich soils, make growing conditions ideal for Pinot Grigio. Trader Joe's Petit Reserve Pinot Grigio Monterey County takes full advantage of this point of Pinot perfection, and showcases all the crisp, peachy, tropical fruit character for which this varietal is known. 2004 Frog's Leap Leapfrogmilch White Table Wine - The 2004 Frog's Leap Merlot was near textbook in every aspect. Normal winter rainfall, perfect bud break, even flowering, predictable showers during set, a June swoon, then slow, even ripening right up to the start of the even-paced harvest. After the more extreme conditions of the three previous vintages, growers and winemakers kept waiting for the 'other shoe to drop.' In the end, the other shoe was a picture perfect, classic Napa Valley vintage. This is a California Wine. 2013 Cupcake Wines Sauvignon Blanc - Sourced from the South Island of New Zealand, this Sauvignon Blanc exhibits complexity and a vibrant zing. Flavors of Meyer lemons and Key limes integrate with hints of grapefruit, gooseberry and citrus, culminating in a long, creamy finish. Middle Sister Sweet and Sassy Moscato - Forward fruit and flora aromas of lychee, lemon zest, tangerine, candied pear, peach. Rich impression entering the mouth with prominent floral notes. Soft mid-palate; good acidity on the finish. The fruit notes of peaches, pears and citrus linger. 2010 Mockingbird Cellars Gewurztraminer Donated by Rolling Hills School PTA Estimated Value: $77 4031 Red Wines and Two StorVino Wine Storage System Crates This package includes one bottle of each of the following red wines: - 2011 Clos Pegase Merlot - 2013 Black Mountain "Fat Cat" Cabernet Sauvignon - 2013 Handsome Devil Malbec - 2013 Layer Cake Malbec - 2013 Belgrano "It's a Head Snapper" Malbec - 2013 Yellow Tail Merlot - 2012 Rosenblum Zinfandel - 2013 Apothic Red Winemaker's Blend AND two (2) StorVino Wine Storage System Crates: The #1 selling modular and transportable wine storage system in the world! Donated by Rolling Hills School PTA Estimated Value: $143 4032 Pair of 2012 Wines This package includes two 2012 vintage wines: 2012 Columbia Crest Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon - Crafted in a classic Bordeaux style and sourced from low yielding vineyards within the best sub-appellations of the Columbia Valley, this wine delivers an enticing bouquet of blueberries and caramel, with balanced flavors, a silky palate and a lingering, seductive finish. 2012 Chateau DuTertre Margaux - Sweet fruit with a toss of earth on the nose. Palate was extremely approachable, with clean flavours of cherries and some flowers in a good, round mouthfeel. Finish was decent with some spice notes. While Mike is king of the hill at work, he's the odd man out in a home that is dominated by women -- namely his wife, Vanessa, and their three daughters, 22- year-old Kristin, 17-year-old Mandy and 14-year-old Eve. After being a stay-at-home mom for years, Vanessa recently returned to the workplace and was quickly promoted (much to the dismay of her primarily male co-workers). Monaco "Oh Say Can You See..." is an original painting by artist, Janice D. Monaco. This painting, made from watercolor pens, acrylic pens and ink on watercolor paper, will have you seeing red, white & blue and revive your patriotic spirit! About the artist: Janice has been drawing as far back as she can remember, creating everything from cartoons to original life drawings - using multiple mediums in the process. Even while working as a visual merchandiser for Buffums department store...followed by a career in the corporate world...she never stopped drawing. In the 80s, Janice had an opportunity to take life-drawing lessons from Artist Don May (personal friend/artist to Conrad Hilton and his hotels); this amazing experience encouraged her to expand into more creative subjects. Since 2011, Janice has participated in Fullerton's monthly art walk...starting at the Magoski Arts Colony, then continuing on through Fullerton cafes and shops - all with great success. Recently, multiple black and white images of Janice's works have been purchased by Haddad's Fine Arts, and sold by retail outlets such as Home Goods. She also donates her work to many silent auctions, raising money for various charities. Janice's works are all originals with unique styling; and, if you look closely, especially in her printed greeting cards...you'll see a delightful 60s influence showing through her art.
