Low-Speed Beside-the-Press Granulators Often Copied Never Matched © 1998 Rapid Granulator, Inc. Rapid has virtually perfected the art of producing high quality regrind. Consistently sized regrind with fewer fines that melts more uniformly, resulting in fewer rejected parts. You’ll feel the impact on your bottom line. 1 Introducing... all the Prevents injury new Higher throughput A 7.88" rotor diameter and cutterhouse sizes up to 19" wide makes the Force Series ideal for small-scale granulation operations with throughput requirements up to 350 pounds per hour. Safety is fundamental to Rapid’s business philosophy. Every granulator is equipped with redundant safety switches and an emergency stop button. Rotor configuration can be specified as open or staggered to enhance performance in specific applications. Durable, long lasting Rapid’s Force Series is compact yet powerful. Designed for direct, besidethe-press recycling of plastic waste and rejects from injection molding, blow molding and extrusion processes. Rapid’s modular “VersaGrind” construction provides unparalleled versatility to create the optimum unit for each application. 2 Open vs. Staggered Rotor – Open rotor works best for film and other lightweight items, while staggered rotor is well-suited to heavier-duty applications. (Two, three or four rotating segments will be included, depending on machine size. Either two or three fixed knives can be specified.) Hopper Configurations – Several different hopper configurations accommodate all types of manual or automated processes. Evacuation Systems – Regrind can be returned directly to the machine (with a blower/cyclone unit) for closed-loop recycling, or collected in a bin for manual emptying. The Force Series can easily be integrated with any existing automated system. Easy Cleaning & Maintenance – The Force Series is designed for easy access to all components—no tools required. Both the hopper and screen cradle pivot away from the rotor, providing simple access for routine cleaning and maintenance. 3 SilverSound Soundproofing – For a quieter working environment, choose from three packages: Gold – 80 to 85 decibels (as shown on cover), Silver – 85 to 90 decibels (as shown on this page), or BronzeSound Bronze – 90 to 95 decibels (not shown). The actual operating decibel level may fluctuate with Specify the ideal granulator GoldSound for your type and volume of plastic waste, granule size the material in process. and recycling requirements. No compromises. Mix and Applications – The Force is ideally suited to injection molding, blow molding and extrusion applications. match from Rapid’s array of standardized components to 9.5" 14" create the granulator that Cutterhouse Width – Size The Force to your application by choosing a cutterhouse width of 9.5", 14" or 19". 19" exactly fits your needs. 4 Staggered “wave” rotor design features more cuts per revolution, resulting in higher throughput and smaller bites that reduce jamming and shearing. Combined with low rotation speeds, energy consumption is minimized. Open rotor design works best with lighter weight materials. Scissor cutting action from the slanted cassette rotor knives provides superior quality regrind. Tangential feed reduces “flyback”and increases granulation capacity. Oversized bearings handle heavier shock loads without bearing wear, reducing the chances of bearing failure. Unique cassette knives are economical and may be readily replaced when worn. The elimination of costly and time-consuming knife resharpening saves money and increases granulator up-time. Multiple safety interlocks prevent injury by preventing access to the granulator while operating. Drop-down screen cradle for fast cleanout in response to a change in plastic type and/or color. Provides easy access to the cutting chamber for cleaning and service. Solid rotor pulley adds inertia to the rotor to provide more cutting power while utilizing less horsepower. Heavy duty construction makes this granulator durable and long lasting, even when used with “tough engineered materials”. Compact and mobile, caster-mounted base saves valuable floor space and provides greater versatility. Casters can be locked once granulator is in place. Reversible screen provides even wear to extend the life of the screen. F-19 F-14 F-10 Removable flaps provide convenient cleaning. Hand/Robot Feed Tilt-back hopper provides easy access to the cutting chamber for cleaning and service. Built tough for reliable performance and long life, Rapid’s Force Series is designed for granulation of sprues, runners and reject parts. Available in three sizes for various waste characteristics, the cutterhouse opening dimension determines overall machine size. Combination Robot Feed/Sheet Feed Sheet/Profile Feed Conveyor Roll Feed Side Feed Applications The high-capacity Force can handle large, thick waste associated with injection molding applications as well as tops, tails, reject bottles and hot parison waste common to blow molding processes. Several infeed options accommodate virtually any extrusion setup. 5 Injection Molding Extrusion Blow Molding Operator safety is integral to The Force Series design.
