“First of all I want to thank you for sending me such
a great group of production assistants. They were
phenomenal on our production for HP, they were an
hour early and worked their behinds off. If I didn’t
know I would have thought they had a few years
experience under their belts. You guys do a great job
at Streetlights preparing these fine young men and
women. I have been a long time supporter and will
be for many years to come.”

“The Streetlights PA’s were AWESOME! Only the
best reviews from the team they were assisting.
Once again, all Streetlights PA’s I have ever had on
set have been so wonderful. I cannot say enough how

Dreams honestly do come true. Streetlights gave me
the training and resources to follow my dreams and
now I’m on a career path that I couldn’t have imagined
in this wonderful business.

Streetlights Graduate (2001)
Since 1992, STREETLIGHTS has been
bringing ethnic diversity to the
behind-the-camera world of Feature Film,
Television and Commercial production.
Our mission is to enable talented and
motivated young ethnic minorities, many
economically or socially disadvantaged, to
achieve long-term economic stability and
career success.
PRODUCTION ASSISTANT TRAINING
COMMERCIAL DIVERSITY INITIATIVE
Taught by Industry professionals, our
Production Assistant curriculum is the only
one of its kind. Each graduate is required to
complete 240 hours of training, 120 of which
are paid and spent working on actual
productions. Given the freelance nature of
production, job placement is assured until a
network of contacts is established.
Our focus is building careers, not just
finding jobs. In the year 2000 we began a
new step in career advancement with the
Commercial Diversity Initiative (CDI).
P.A. TRAINING INCLUDES:
Petty Cash Resolution
Walkie-Talkie Use and Language
Vendors and Equipment
Office Training
Map Reading in case of GPS Failure
Who’s Who on the Set
Production Paperwork
Production Practices, Protocol and Politics
Through CDI, our veteran Production
Assistants are able to make that difficult
first move up the career ladder by earning
Union eligibility days towards Union
Membership. They have access to:
Scholarships to gain specialized
knowledge in their chosen field
(Camera, Wardrobe, Sound, etc.)
Work opportunities to meet Union
eligibility requirements
To accomplish true diversity in the
Entertainment Industry, we believe that a
minority talent pool must be created to
provide companies with ethnically diverse
crew members from a range of job
categories – Gaffer to Grip, Producer to
Production Assistant.
To that end, STREETLIGHTS provides an
opportunity to break into this creative and
well-paying business through entry-level
Production Assistant Training, while at the
same time helping highly experienced and
motivated graduates advance through the
ground-breaking Commercial Diversity
Initiative.
This pioneer endeavor is an innovative
collaboration between STREETLIGHTS and
major Advertisers and Ad Agencies. CDI is
the only diversity program in the country
that leads to Union membership.
Union membership
Union health and pension benefits and
increased employment stability
INDUSTRY BOOKING ROSTER
Graduates are placed onto the Industry Booking
Roster—our list of skilled workers for all areas
of Film, TV and Commercial production. This
roster gives companies access to a trained
workforce and allows us to match the right
person to the right job.
Together, Streetlights’ Production
Assistant Training and the Commercial
Diversity Initiative are creating an
experienced minority talent pool that
helps the Entertainment Industry fulfill
its commitment to diversity.
