Dear friends,
I am happy that my term has begun on an auspicious note. Our
first project of this year was the Varkari Seva- providing
medical aid to the pious devotes of the Lord Pandharinath who
walk miles and miles barefoot to meet the Lord on the
Ashadhee Ekadashee day.
This project which was started by our Inner Wheel Club many
years ago, had been stopped by that Club thanks to limitations
faced by them in organizing logistics of such big project.
PP Ravindra Patil alongwith PP Jyoti Bhise of Inner Wheel Club
revived this project in his presidential year 2014-15, when our
Club took lead in arranging the logistics with active
participation of our Club members. This project has no doubt
strengthened our relationship with Inner Wheel as
Partners-in-Service.
The rains this year seem to be satisfactory at this stage.
Let us hope people are saved from the severe water shortages
as it happened over the past few years.
We have been contributing our bit to the cause of water
conservation by building check dams. Our Club has built 3
check dams so far.
As I have said earlier, we are planning to build 15 more check
dams during this year. It's a pleasure watching the rain waters
accumulated at our various check dams.
Some time in the month of August I plan to organize a visit to
the check dam sites.

Today's Meeting
At today's meeting we have the celebrity
Pooja Bedi as the Chief Guest.
She will speak on 'Personal Transformation'- a need most of
us feel from time to time. We could expect some good tips
from today's guest speaker, who is an accomplished individual
having successfully tackled varied challenges in her life.

Dear fellow members,
Once again I have been selected editor of the
ROTATOR by Pres. Nitin. While I am thankful to Nitin,
I hope I will be able to justify the confidence he has
reposed in myself.
As you must have already realized, here is a young
president who is bustling with ideas and ideals.
I am pretty well aware it is going to be a challenge to cope up with
the responsibilities of editorship during this year, which is expected
to bring about paradigm changes for better.
My best wishes to Pres. Nitin and to all of you for a great year at
our Club.
Varkari Seva Project
The Varkari Seva project was successfully completed for the third year
in succession.
Our Club team along with the members of our Inner Wheel Club left for
Phaltan early morning on Thursday July 7. Medical aid was provided
on July 7 and 8 to over 1,500 Varkari pilgrims to Pandharpur. Pres.
Nitin Jadhav, First Lady Swati Jadhav, PPs Dr. Anil Tambe,
Vilas Bhandarkar, Ravindra Patil, Rtns. Sham Ghate, Kishor Soparkar,
Dr. Manish Doshi, Dr. Vijay Patil and R-Ann Seema Ramakrishnan
had joined for the project.
The Inner Wheel team led by Pres. Sandhya Karnik included
Urmila Gavand, Dr. Rekha Pradhan, Medha Ambikar, Pushpa Dahake,
Smita Bhandarkar and Seema Deshmukh .
Our Members Our Pride
PP Dr. Anil Tambe has been awarded the
Vyasa Ratna Puraskar, 2016 by the Vyas Creations.
This award has been declared in appreciation of the
long exemplary services rendered by Dr. Anil in the
field of medical services as a cardiologist, medical
education, conducting medical camps in remote
tribal areas and other social services over the past
45 long years. This is the 33rd award of recognition received by
Dr. Anil. He has also received 124 'Honors' from various institutions
and Governments.
We adore you Dr. Anil.
PP Rajeev Karnik was the Chairman of Jury panel
at the Regional Excellence Practice Competition
conducted by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)
at Pune on July 7 and 8. It was a prestigious
competition wherein the contestants included the
likes of L&T, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Housing etc.
