Pastor Moises Arauz from Nicaragua will bring the message in
our worship time on October 30th. To prepare for worship,
meditate on Psalm 22:1-11 with a specific focus on verse 11.
Psalm 22:1-11 (NIV)
1 My
God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
Why are you so far from saving me,
so far from my cries of anguish?
2 My God, I cry out by day, but you do not
answer,
by night, but I find no rest.
3 Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One;
you are the one Israel praises.
4 In you our ancestors put their trust;
they trusted and you delivered them.
5 To you they cried out and were saved;
in you they trusted and were not put to
shame.
6 But I am a worm and not a man,
scorned by everyone, despised by the people.
7 All who see me mock me;
they hurl insults, shaking their heads.
8 “He trusts in the Lord,” they say,
“let the Lord rescue him.
Let him deliver him,
since he delights in him.”
9 Yet you brought me out of the womb;
you made me trust in you, even at my
mother’s breast.
10 From birth I was cast on you;
from my mother’s womb you have been my
God.
11 Do not be far from me,
for trouble is near
and there is no one to help.

accordance to Maple Grove’s policy on Physical & Sexual Abuse of Children. If you

Collection for
Lake Township FISH
FISH is organizing a community food drive for Thanksgiving to provide complete
dinners for families in need in the community. Area churches will each collect one
item for the food drive. Maple Grove has been asked to donate 200 boxes/bags of
stuffing mix. We will be collecting up through November 20th. We have also been
asked for donations toward purchasing the turkeys for the families. If you would like
to contribute, please mark your offering envelope “Turkeys for FISH.”
The Small Service Projects Committee thanks you in advance for your help with this project.
 Children’s Activity Center: There is an activity bin at the back of the
sanctuary by the sound booth with clipboards, pencils, coloring pages, activity
sheets, etc., for the kids to use during the service. Please return the items to
the bins after the service each week. Thanks! Ministry of Education
 Agape Bread Ministries provides Maple Grove (and lots of other churches
and organizations) with free bread each week. Please help yourself to the
bread on the table in the Fellowship Hall.
 In order to receive a year-end giving statement, you must have an offering
number. If you currently do not have an offering number, please contact
Ryan Miller at (330)323-3451. The offering envelopes are designed so you can
designate your offering to specific funds. If funds are not designated on the
envelope, they are included in the General offering except for the 3rd Sunday
of each month which is Education Sunday and non-designated funds go to the
Education fund. For accurate recording, please mark the front of your
envelope with your offering number as well as designation of funds. If you
have any questions, please contact Wendy Mann, Maple Grove’s Treasurer.
Thank you!
 For the comfort and safety of our senior adults and those that require
handicap parking, we ask that you observe the following: Parking spaces
from the light post to the handicap parking spaces will be reserved for senior
adults only. In order to park in a handicap parking space, you need to make
sure that your handicap sign is visible.
Any questions please see a member of the Ministry of Administration
Recycle Program – Old Cell Phones & Inkjet Cartridges
Recycle your empty inkjet and toner cartridges and old cell phones to help the Penny
Power project. Dollars from the recycling efforts will be gifted to MCC to be used to
help provide clean drinking water and new wells for communities around the world.
A collection box is in the foyer by the steps leading down to the basement.
Recycling Aluminum Cans
Your conscious effort to recycle aluminum cans will help others. There are two collection
containers - one at each entrance of the building. Please bring the cans you collect each
week and drop them in the containers.
Thank you for supporting these recycling projects!
MCC Responds to Hurricane Matthew
Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) welcomes donations of money for its disaster
response in Haiti, where people are suffering the effects of Hurricane Matthew,
which crossed the country October 4. Matthew's high winds and extensive flooding
caused significant damage and increased already heightened cholera concerns in the
Artibonite Valley, where MCC's long-term reforestation program operates. To
donate, visit mcc.org/hurricane-matthew; call 1-888-563-4676 or send a check to
MCC, 21 S. 12th St., PO Box 500, Akron PA 17501.
Acme Community Cash Back Program to benefit FISH.
Acme will give a percentage of the cash back amount printed on the bottom of each
Acme receipt to FISH. The program started August 11 and will run through
December 31, 2016. A collection box is available under the mailboxes for your Acme
receipts. A flyer on the bulletin board lists the product brands that benefit FISH.
Thanks for your support of this project!
Mennonite Church USA Convention 2017 is coming up July 4-8 in Orlando,

Ohio Conference Fall Mission Event – November 3 @ Berlin Mennonite
This fall, members of all Ohio Conference congregations are invited to gather
together to share stories of how their churches are engaging in God’s mission in their
local communities. Everyone is invited to attend the Fall Mission Event on Thursday,
November 3rd, at Berlin Mennonite Church beginning at 6:30 p.m. and lasting about
an hour and a half. The meeting will include time for brief presentations and group
discussion. The first part of the meeting will focus on what has happened so far in the
Ohio Conference Year of Mission. Participants will be encouraged to talk about how
they see God at work in their congregations. The second part of the meeting will
have a “looking forward” focus, getting people ready for the March 2017 missional
training event with Alan and Debra Hirsch. For more information, visit the Ohio
Conference website: www.ohiomennoniteconference.org.
Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi
Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.
O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled as to console,
To be understood as to understand,
To be loved as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
It is in dying to self that we are born to eternal life.
