Highlights of the tour:
Taubate (Sao Paulo state): Taubate (Sao Paulo state): Taubate, one of the
most significant cities along the main highway that connects the two megacities
of Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, is the ideal base for the tour given its central
location and proximity to all of the tour's destinations. Taubate is nestled in
a valley with a stunning mountain range to the west, and the many
beaches bordering the Atlantic Ocean to the east. Rio de Janeiro is just a
few hours to the north, and Sao Paulo is a short drive to the south. The city
itself boasts a rich offering of interesting parks,
bustling markets, shopping, restaurants, and even a mini replica of the Christ the
Redeemer statue.
Ilhabela (Beautiful Island): This archipelago and city is situated four miles
from the coast of Sao Paulo state, and is accessible by ferry. As its name in
Portuguese attests, it is a "beautiful island" that is a popular spot for tourists
from all over the world. Ilhabela is a popular destination for water sports like
sailing and scuba diving. And its quaint markets, historical architecture, 41
paradisiac beaches, hiking trails, waterfalls, and restaurants with the
freshest seafood you'll ever taste make it the ideal spot to get away.
Campos do Jordao (Sao Paulo state): This tour will bring you to the highest
city in Brazil, known as Brazil’s Switzerland for its beautiful European architecture.
The city is nestled in a picturesque mountain range with stunning views and offers
a wide range of shopping, restaurants, music events, historical sites, cultural
attractions, and more. We will visit Horto Florestal State Park, take a cable
car ride up the mountain, explore the famous downtown area called Capivari,
ride a vintage train across the city, and experience the unique local cuisine.
Sao Paulo: This city is considered the cultural capital of Latin America with
thousands of attractions. We will have a tour driving in the most famous
downtown area, and then we will visit Ibirapuera Park, Sao Paulo’s equivalent of
New York City’s Central Park. We will visit famous sites downtown, including the
Municipal Market of Sao Paulo, a vibrant, must-see historical market for
tourists and Brazilians alike. We will then visit the famous Cathedral of Se’, one
of the five largest neo-gothic churches in the world and a popular place of worship
in downtown Sao Paulo.
