HCA HEALTHCARE UK OFFERS FIXED PRICES ON A RANGE OF MEDICAL
PROCEDURES
One of the nation’s leading healthcare
providers, with hospital across London and
Manchester, has launched a new pricing
scheme allowing people to access top quality
healthcare at a fixed price.
HCA Healthcare UK has launched Fixed Price
Treatment on over 40 procedures across all
of its hospitals, giving patients peace of mind
when it comes to exceptional care and clear,
transparent pricing.
The fixed price scheme, a first for HCA, offers
an upfront guaranteed price for treatment, with no hidden costs or additional fees. A fixed
consultation price is also offered, which includes the cost of all pre-treatment tests (with the
exception of MRI and CT scanning).
HCA Fixed Price Treatment is available on a range of procedures including knee replacement, hip
replacement, diagnostic colonoscopy, hysterectomy, varicose vein removal and more. Paediatric
treatment is also available on some procedures including hernia repair. More treatments will be
added.
HCA Healthcare UK is one of the nation’s leading providers of private healthcare with a focus on
providing high quality complex care. With six hospitals in London; The Princess Grace Hospital, The
Harley Street Clinic, The Wellington Hospital, The Portland Hospital, The Lister Hospital, London
Bridge Hospital; GP practices and facilities in Manchester, HCA sees a total of 600,000 patients a
year.
Mike Neeb, CEO of HCA Healthcare UK said;
“Our Fixed Price Treatment will enable people to access the high quality care that HCA
Healthcare UK prides itself on, all with the peace of mind that the price won’t change.
“The self-pay market is growing and it is important that HCA offers patients the flexibility to
access different payment methods.”
The procedures offered through Fixed Price Treatment have been chosen according to demand and
where it is possible to provide a fixed price. For more complex procedures, people will continue to
be able to access the excellent care HCA offers through traditional self-pay and private medical
insurance routes.
The move to offer Fixed Price Treatment is backed by HCA consumer research, which suggests
that while people put a premium on quality when making healthcare decisions, the ability to put a
fixed price on care from the start, can provide the extra confidence and reassurance to go ahead
with private treatment.
A dedicated call centre team has been set up to answer all queries on Fixed Price Treatment. To
book an appointment of find out more contact 020 8108 3371. For more information on the full list

legal community. Our aim is to provide
professional development support to
members through educational events,

Gallacher discussing how employers can attract and retain female talent. Geraldine is Managing
Director of the Executive Coaching Consultancy, which launched in 1994 as one of the first dedicated

gathering of lawyers and the judiciary with over 10,000 participants this year representing more

FAWCO
Each year FAWCO Youth Program takes 8-10 FAWCO
teens between the ages of 13-17 (open to past
participants on a space available basis) to a different
city to learn about and volunteer in the local
community. In past years the youth have ventured to
Dubai, Shanghai and Mumbai.
Last year: Fifteen teens from seven countries travelled
to Mumbai and were hosted by the local club.
The group was treated to a mix of culture and charity.
They visited the Foundation for Mother and Child
Health (FMCH), an NGO providing preventive health and balanced nutrition in underprivileged
communities, VOICE, an organisation that helps street children, the MANN Center for Individuals
with Special Needs, and URJA, a shelter for homeless young girls.
This year we broke the pattern of cities ending in -ai and are in Dublin. Next year who knows?
Many thanks to the AWC Dublin for their generosity and willingness to set up this year's
programme! This year the Programme will introduce the group to some of the sights and sounds of
Dublin, and the teens will be introduced to Ireland’s structure of volunteering and the underlying
needs.
For you or your teen to participate in next year’s FAWCO Youth Program contact your local FAWCO
member club or FAWCO directly to find out more. www.fawco.org
Symposium, STAND UP Against Human Trafficking
FAWCO and The FAWCO Foundation are proud to announce
their first Symposium, STAND UP Against Human Trafficking will
take place Oct 8-9, 2016 in The Hague, Netherlands. Our human
rights research has shown that individuals, the private sector,
and governments are already implementing an impressive slavery eradication tool set. We believe
that raising awareness of these tools will have a dramatic impact on raising the percentage rate of
sustainable rescue human trafficking. We will hear from a variety of speakers who
will demonstrate tools at the individual, community, corporate, national and international
levels to teach participants on how they can become an EVERYDAY HERO to combat Modern Day
Slavery. Registration for members and the general public will open in May via the FAWCO website

Performing for the Camera – Until 12 JUNE
Serious performance art, portraiture, or just simply posing for the
camera? What does is it mean to perform for the camera? Photography
has been used to capture performances since its invention – from the
stars of the Victorian stage to the art happenings of the 1960s, and
today’s trend for selfies. With over 50 seminal photographers on display,
the exhibition explores the relationship between photography and
performance, engaging with serious, provocative and sensational topics,
as well as humour, improvisation and irony. It shows how photographs
have captured performances by important artists including Yves
Klein and Yayoi Kusama, and ground-breaking collaborations between photographers, performers
and dancers.
Venue: Tate Modern
Ornament by Design - until 12 June 2016
This display explores the ways in which ornament transforms
buildings, objects, and other surfaces into something beautiful:
objects of desire. Ornament by Design presents a range of
seventeenth- and eighteenth-century French drawings:
elevations and sections of buildings, ornamental motifs, gardens
ornaments, ceiling decorations, designs for frames and
architectural capriccios. They illustrate the variety of forms
ornament assumed and functions it performed in the built
environment of the ancien régime. Venue: Courtauld Gallery
Vogue 100: A Century of Style - UNTIL 12 JUNE 2016
Vogue 100: A Century of Style will showcase the remarkable range of
photography that has been commissioned by British Vogue since it was founded
in 1916, with over 280 prints from the Condé Nast archive and international
collections being shown together for the first time to tell the story of one of the
most influential fashion magazines in the world.
Venue: National Portrait Gallery
Delacroix and the Rise of Modern Art – Until 3 July
‘Delacroix and the Rise of Modern Art’ is a long-overdue homage to
France’s leading exponent of Romanticism – a true original who, at the
time of his death in 1863, was the most revered artist among the avantgarde in Paris. Drawing inspiration from British art and literature, his real
and imagined travels to North Africa, and biblical scenes; every chord of
human passion can be found in Delacroix’s paintings – stories of love,
murder, violence, and war. “The first merit of a painting is to be a feast
for the eye,” he emphasised towards the end of his life.
Venue: National Gallery

Dutch Flowers – Until 21 AUG
As the first flowers begin to blossom in spring, the opening of a free
exhibition celebrates Dutch flowers in the collection. Coinciding with the
flower shows at Chelsea and Hampton Court, the exhibition explores Dutch
flower painting from its beginnings in the early 17th century to its peak in the
late 18th century, and is the first display of its kind in 20 years. ‘Dutch Flowers’ presents an
overview of the leading artists in the field, such as Ambrosius Bosschaert the Elder, Jan van Huysum,
and Rachel Ruysch, providing a chance to admire their stylistic and technical characteristics, and
the exquisite details of their paintings.
Venue: National Gallery
Mona Hatoum – Until 21 August
The first major survey of Mona Hatoum’s work to take place in London,
this exhibition presents a selection of work, drawing on thirty-five years
of consistent and radical thinking which combines her political and
aesthetic concerns. Born in Beirut to a Palestinian family, she settled in
England in 1975 after war broke out in Lebanon. After graduating from
the Slade School of Art she first became known for a series of
remarkable performance and video pieces in the 1980s. Since the
beginning of the 1990s her practice shifted towards largescale installations and sculptures that subvert the language
of minimalism through traumatic and political themes exposing the contradictions and complexities
of today’s world. Hatoum was nominated for the Turner Prize in 1995.
