City of Walnut Community Services Fall 2016 All buses will depart from Parking Lot A, 20983 La Puente Road, Walnut Palm Springs Air Tram & Lunch Sat, Oct 15 9:00am to 8:00pm $35 Take a thrilling cable car ride from the bottom of the desert floor to the heights of Mt. San Jacinto State Park. Each cable car provides a spectacular 360 degree view of the valley floor and surrounding area. Once on top of the mountain station at 8,516 feet elevation we’ll have an included lunch at the Pines Café. After lunch you’ll have 2 hours on your own to enjoy the mountain top views and visit the gift shop. Please bring a hat and sunscreen this time of year can still be very warm. The atmosphere is always charged with hospitality, laughter and camaraderie. Cost includes roundtrip motor coach transportation from Walnut, a driving lake tour, entrance fee for the festival, a full German meal including dessert and beverage of choice. No one under the age of 21 will be allowed to drink alcoholic beverages. Please make any vegetarian meal request at time of registration. Leonis Adobe Museum & Lunch Sat, Nov 5 8:30am to 4:15pm $35 The Leonis Adobe Museum in Calabasas became the first Los Angeles historic monument on August 6, 1962. The Leonis Adobe built in 1844 was the home of Miguel Leonis, known as the King of Calabasas, who owned over 10,000 acres of land. The museum features his authentically furnished two-story Monterey-style adobe with original buildings, period livestock, gardens and a vineyard. After our tour enjoy an included lunch at the Sagebrush Cantina. Please make any vegetarian meal request at time of registration. The Magic Castle is a sight in itself - built in 1908, this storied Victorian mansion has watched Hollywood grow and change for almost 100 years while never losing its original charm. Santa Barbara Christmas Lights & Dinner Sat, Dec 17 10:00am to 9:15pm $55 Enjoy a fun and spectacular 90 minute trolley tour that will take you around Santa Barbara to see all the amazing Christmas lights and decorations. This is a great way to celebrate the season with the whole family. Hot chocolate and candy canes are also included on Holiday Lights Trolley Tour. Prior to our trolley enjoy a self-guided tour of the Santa Barbara Historical Museum followed by an early dinner at Casa Blanca Cantina in downtown Santa Barbara. Registration for Walnut residents is available beginning Monday, August 15 online at www.cityofwalnut.org or by calling the Walnut Community Services Office at (909) 598-5605 to register with your credit card. Non-residents can register beginning Monday, August 22. Refund Policy: Refunds for day excursions may be obtained after all reservations have been sold and then only if Community Services is able to resell your reservation. On excursions that include overnight accommodations, a refund request must be made no later than 30 days before the excursion, due to hotel policies. Photo Policy: On occasion, staff or independent photographers of the Community Services Department may take photographs or videos of participants in our programs, parks, and special events. Please be aware that these are for the department's use in future brochures, pamphlets or for local public access. If you object to having photos of you or your family used for future publication, you should notify the photographer at the time the photo is taken.
