Boriken BOPS
Powered by HOYOS Labs INTRODUCING Boriken BOPS The global standard in secure authentication and digital property management solutions ONE LOOK IS ALL IT TAKES to easily access and protect your company and customers’ digital life. The Hoyos-invented Biometric Open Protocol Standard (BOPS) is an end-toend specification describing the standards necessary to perform serverbased enhanced biometric security on a client device. It comprises a set of rules that govern secure communications and the management of biometric data among a variety of client devices, including mobile phones, desktop computers, and ATMs (to name a few). BORIKEN BOPS & BIOMETRICS Boriken BOPS is biometric-agnostic and utilizes the HoyosID® Identity Assertion Platform to capture and HOW IT WORKS 1 The user’s request for access is sent to the BOPS server, where they’re matched with a specific identification “key.” 2 BOPS requests authentication from the user in the form of a biometric scan, after which their private key is verified and their data is unlocked. recognize unique biometrics (face, fingerprint, iris, voice and 4-finger vector, among others). Boriken BOPS creates a uniform standard for the proper use and secure application of biometrics in an Identity Assertion environment. It provides authentication instead of authorization, where the server does not retain the user’s information, as it remains on the user’s device, but rather recognizes one client from another. 3 Just seconds after their initial request, users are enabled to securely access their digital life. THE GLOBAL STANDARD IN SECURITY Boriken BOPS conforms to the U.S. Government Department of Defense’s standards, which set the requirements for assessing the effectiveness of computer security controls within a computer system, and has been adopted by the International Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) as the global standard for biometrics security. With BOPS specifications, a specific “key” to a user’s information is created on the backend behind a firewall, but all “matching” happens on the user’s device – meaning user privacy is completely secure since no biometrics ever leave the phone. If a hacker were to try and hack a BOPScompliant server, they’d have to hack device-by-device, then break into our secure server, then match each key to its corresponding device to unlock user data – all while finding a way to fake users’ biometrics and beat our Liveness security. The BOPS communication architecture enables a 2-way Secure Socket Layer (SSL) connection over the encryption mechanism to the server, which employs the Intrusion Detection System (IDS). BOPS operates on the fundamental principles of identity authentication: Identity Assertion, Role Gathering, Access Control, Auditing, and Assertion. EASY INSTALLATION Boriken BOPS allows our easy-install, pluggable components to replace or integrate with your existing system components’ functionality in a short period of time. Boriken BOPS meets security needs using the API (Application Programming Interface) and adheres to the principle of continuous protection, adjudicating access to resources. It can be compatible with both, a Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) or a Search Engine, and the BOPS functionality adds the appropriate security to both the production systems and the systems in development. THE HOYOS LABS ADVANTAGE THE FIDO ALLIANCE ABOUT HOYOS LABS HOYOS Labs is a proud member of the FIDO Alliance. The FIDO (Fast IDentity Online) Alliance was formed in July 2012 to address the lack of interoperability among strong Hoyos Labs is raising the bar on security and digital privacy. We have one overriding goal – to build disruptive technology for consumers and businesses that safeguard authentication technologies, and remedy the problems users face with creating and remembering multiple identity, giving you near-effortless access to your digital life. Hoyos Labs solutions address identity authentication using usernames and passwords. The FIDO Alliance is changing the nature of authentication with standards for simpler, an individual’s unique identity – face, voice, fingerprints – and smartphones. We have offices in New York, Boston, stronger authentication that define an open, scalable, interoperable set of mechanisms that reduce reliance on San Juan (Puerto Rico), Bucharest (Romania), Beijing (China), and Oxford (United Kingdom) and permanent passwords. FIDO authentication is stronger, more private, and easier to use when authenticating to online services. research centers at MIT and Oxford.
