Sky High Ranch Location: Woodland Park, off Hwy 67 Resident/Overnight Camp: June through the first week of August Good for: all ages, outside groups too Specialties: rustic beauty, archery, boating nearby, zip line, small animal farm! Sawmill Cooking Shelter Inside the Lodge Shower House Sky High Ranch: Summer Season Dates: May 16-31, August 8-September 30 Accommodations: • Troop House: 24 mattresses • Cabins: bunk beds, heat only in Greenwood and Lucky Circle • Tent Sites Indoor Space: • Craft House: Reserve for day use Staff programming available : yes Food: Catered food service is required Bathrooms & Showers: shower house with ten showers, latrines Sky High Ranch: Year-Round Dates: August – Oct. 7; April 1 – May 15 Accommodations: • Lodge: electricity and 40 mattresses, kitchen • Cabin units: Lucky Circle and Greenwood with bunk beds, heat, water available Indoor Areas: • Craft House: reserve for day use • Lodge: if renting it for overnight use, kitchen is included; can be reserved for day/kitchen use if another group has not reserved it for overnight use Staff programming available : no Food: Cook in unit shelters; kitchen in Lodge is available if reserved Bathrooms & Showers: showers closed (use baby wipes), latrines Sky High Ranch: Homestead Season Dates: Oct 8-March 31 Accommodations: • Lodge: electricity and 40 mattresses, kitchen • Cabin units: Lucky Circle and Greenwood are available with bunk beds, heat, water available • Homestead House: bunk beds, heat, restrooms and shower, kitchen, sleeping upstairs only Indoor Areas: • • Craft House: reserve for day use Lodge & Homestead House: overnight rental groups have day use if reserved; if not reserved by an overnight group, can be reserved for day use Staff programming available: no Food: Cook in unit shelters; kitchen in Lodge is available if reserved; kitchen in Homestead House is available if reserved Bathrooms & Showers: shower house closed (use baby wipes), latrines for Lodge and Cabins; one shower and indoor bathrooms are available in the Homestead House if reserved Homestead House is a home for the Resident Camp Director April 1-Oct. 7 Sky High Ranch Prices • Pricing is listed per building, multiply by number of buildings for entire unit price. • Property Manager and Camp Director reserve the right to close a property due to weather conditions and unsafe travel to camp. • Lodge is only available for overnight use during the Year-Round & Homestead seasons. Meadow Mountain Ranch Location: Allenspark, off Hwy 7 Good for: volunteer-led programs (Troop and Family Camps); all ages, outside groups Programming available: volunteer and GECCCO-led (a Fort Collins troop) Specialties: rustic beauty, borders RMNP, girl and volunteerled programming, zero waste program, historic Homestead House Inside the Lodge Kitchen inside the Lodge Tabin Units Meadow Mountain Ranch: Summer Season Dates: May 16-Sept. 30 Summer Accommodations: • Tabins (tent cabins): bunk beds, latrines, no electricity • Tent Sites: latrines • Lodge: electricity, 40 mattresses, has a kitchen, flush toilets, no showers Indoor Areas: • Homestead House: reserve for day use • Lodge: not available if reserved for overnight use Food: cook outdoors, or reserve the lodge for cooking; outdoor cooking gear available Meadow Mountain Ranch: Year-Round Dates: Oct. 1 – May 15 Year-Round Accommodations: Lodge: electricity, 40 mattresses, kitchen, flush toilets, no showers Indoor Areas: Lodge Food: groups use the Lodge kitchen to cook their meals Meadow Mountain Ranch Prices • Pricing is listed per building, multiply by number of buildings for entire unit price. • Property Manager reserves the right to close the property due to weather conditions and unsafe travel to camp. Magic Sky Ranch Location: Red Feather Lakes, off Hwy 74E Good for: trainings, Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, and older troops Specialties: Hiking /mountain access, beautiful scenery, wildlife Viewing Programming: volunteer-led PROPERTY SALE: This property on the market for sale, all users must sign a disclaimer, reservations may be refunded or transferred to another property (pending space) once it is sold; there will be approximately a three month notice when this happens. Hamp Hut Location: Colorado Springs, inside Garden of the Gods Good for: Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, and older troops! Accommodates 1 to 4 troops. Specialties: Garden of the Gods access; views; easy access to Colorado Springs Hamp Hut Great Room Kitchen Hamp Hut Year-Round Accommodations: 30 mattresses, electricity, kitchen, flush toilet, shower Building Details: Has one main room; dads should be prepared to sleep in the cab of a truck (tents are not allowed outside of the building). Programming: volunteer-led Food: cook on your own in the kitchen; propane stoves allowed outside; absolutely no outside fires or charcoal Twisted Pine Location: Genessee, off Hwy 70; near Buffalo Bill’s Overlook Good for: trainings, Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, and older troops! Accommodates 1 to 4 troops. Specialties: mountains (snow or summer activities!) and Denver access Twisted Pine Great Room Room for sleeping Twisted Pine Year-Round Accommodations: 26 mattresses, electricity, kitchen, flush toilet, shower Building Details: Cabin has 3 sleeping rooms; can accommodate dads in a separate room. Programming: volunteer-led only Food: cook in the kitchen Pawnee Lodge Location: Sterling, off Hwy 14; historic building inside a city park Good for: trainings, Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, and older troops! Accommodates 1 to 4 troops. Specialties: Eastern plains access; close to the Overland Trail Museum Pawnee Lodge Year-Round Accommodations: 20 mattresses, electricity, kitchen, flush toilet Building Details: This cabin has two floors, and can accommodate dads in a separate room. Programming: volunteer-led Food: cook in the kitchen Grand Junction Office Location: Grand Junction, off Hwy 6 & 50 Good for: trainings, Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, and older troops too! Accommodates 1 to 4 troops. Specialties: Western Slope access; close to Grand Mesa, Grand Junction, and Glenwood Springs Outdoor Program Center Hotel Chipeta Grand Junction Office Year-Round Accommodations: see below for details, Hotel Chipeta has electricity and a flush toilet Programming: volunteer-led Food: bring your own camp stoves and food for cooking in the Outdoor Program Center Activities, Food Reservations, Volunteer Instructors & Gear Rental Outdoor Supplies: Groups can rent or reserve gear for activities. www.girlscoutsofcolorado.org/properties/equipment-and- activities Food Reservations: Once your reservation is confirmed, you will receive a form to confirm food details if your reservation is for Tomahawk Ranch or Sky High Ranch. Booking Activities: For Tomahawk Ranch and Sky High Ranch, you’ll receive an activity reservation form to complete. Instructing your Own Activities: • Volunteers can teach archery, canoeing, and activities following the Safety Activity Checkpoints. • Volunteers must have an active Girl Scout membership. • Prior to instruction, all certifications must be current with copies sent to anna.danila@gscolorado.org for review. Training Needed for Overnights/Camping Do all adults on an overnight need to be background checked? Yes! Every adult on an overnight activity with girls needs to be an approved GSCO volunteer and have an active adult membership. www.girlscoutsofcolorado.org/vol unteers/get-started Planning a Service Unit Campout? www.girlscoutsofcolorado.org/trooptravel Find the trainings below in the GSCO Activity Finder Roles for Overnights/Camping Roles are for background checked volunteer adults. Girls may also take the lead in many roles. Volunteer Camp Director/Team – take Cooking and Camping, and Overnight Training Head of logistics for the program. Works with the “Host Troop/Group” to make the camp happen! Host Troop/Group Helps the Volunteer Camp Director/Team make the camp happen! Camp Dad (or Mom!) – take Cooking and Camping, and Overnight Training These are the parents who love the outdoors! Engage them and give them roles to help with your camp!
