An Invitation to Faith Temple Church of God in Christ
60th Year Church Anniversary March 22, 2015
Dear Faith Temple C.O.G.I.C. Friends and Family,
On Sunday morning, March 22, 2015, during 11:00 a.m. service, Pastor William H. Allen and The
Church Anniversary Committee invite you to join us as we honor the legacy of God’s gift of birthing into
the world, Faith Temple Church of God in Christ. Join us as we celebrate and give thanks for sixty years of
prayer, faith, fellowship, miracles and love—a church with a mission, enlightened by the Word of God to live
Psalms 46:10, “Be still and know that I am God…” We continue to grow in faith as reach souls for Christ.
Our Church Anniversary Service will highlight the sixty year journey of a people guided by the hand of a
steadfast loving God—a church called to faithfully live for God while serving others. We will all be touched
as we reflect on the many ways in which our personal lives were and are being transformed by faith—faith
that has no boundaries because we simply believe in the power of God and His Word.
Our call to action as a church is to have faith in God and to look up to Jesus Christ and live. We enter the
sanctuary and are humbled by words that face us, above the cross in the choir stand: Acts 17:28, “Jesus the
center of attraction, for in him we live, move and have our being.” Without him, we are nothing. With
him, we have everything. We are alive!
Mark your calendar for March 22, 2015. We will celebrate the foundation of our faith, our roots, and blessings while praying for the moments we will face and the journey that is to come.
As we plan our 60th church anniversary, we want you to play an important role in preserving the spiritual
heritage you have grown to know and love. The Committee is requesting your reflections, testimony, and
pictures for placement in our 60th anniversary legacy book.
Our church history in Chicago and throughout many parts of the world is a spiritual and historical treasure that will continue to grow as we document and share in print and in audio/visual formats the amazing
heritage of our Christian faith.
Monetary contributions will be greatly appreciated also. Checks should be made payable to: Faith Temple
