592 – i want to be ready to meet him
#592 – I WANT TO BE READY TO MEET HIM I. First Stanza: A. “You (One) may have your (their) worldly pleasures, your (their) silver and…” – Lk. 8:14; Js. 5:1-3. B. “You (One) may pile up all the riches that this old world can hold” – Lk. 12:15-21. C. “But I’d rather have my Savior, and with Him firmly stand” – 1 Jn. 4:14; 1 Cor. 15:58; Eph. 6:13. D. “For (So) I want (work) to be ready to meet Him in the glory land” – Ps. 73:24; Plp. 2:12. 1. We will meet Jesus before we get to heaven – 1 Th. 4:16-17. 2. “So I work to be ready to live with Him in glory land” works. II. Second Stanza: A. “You (One) may talk about (their) riches, your (their) diamonds and your (their)…” – Prv. 27:2. B. “You (One) may gain the wealth for ages of this and all the worlds” – Mt. 16:26; Prv. 23:4-5. C. “But the Savior is more precious, with Him I’ll take my stand” – 1 Tim. 4:8; 1 Pet. 2:7. D. “For (So) I want (work) to be ready to meet (live with) Him in the glory land” – Dealt with. III. Third Stanza: A. “There is one thing I can boast of, salvation from the fall” 1. For various reasons I do not like this part. 2. Consider, “Here is one thing I rejoice in, salvation from past sin” – Ax. 2:36-38; 22:16. B. “I’m an heir to wealth in glory, my Father owns it all” 1. I think I get what this is saying (Heb. 9:15), but I, for various reasons, do not like it as worded. 2. Consider, “I’m an heir of the grace of life, I work to enter in” – 1 Pet. 3:7; Mt. 25:20-21. C. “That (Here) is why I’m shouting (obeying?) happy and go at His command” – Ps. 144:15; Jn. 14:15. D. “For I want to be ready to meet Him in the glory land” – “Ready to live with Him in glory land” IV. Chorus: A. “I want (work) to be ready to meet Him by and by” – Mt. 13:21. B. “O I want (work) to be more like Him and do His blest command” – 2 Pet. 3:18; 2 Cor. 3:18. V. Conclusion: See above. 592 I Want To Be Ready To Meet Him PI--4-&OLT . .
