The line “MUTE” is normal. FDNY EMS -‐ MN Central • Primary Device: Onboard radio (receive only) • Backup Device: None • Login Method: None • Contact Phrase: None • Purposes: Monitoring for addi4onal informa4on about EMS calls in our Primary Area of Response • Best Prac<ces: -‐ If an FDNY EMS unit arrives on scene of a call that we are handling, they will need our iden4fier. Provide “91-‐Adam” so they can mark the call as being handled by us. -‐ Channel is marked as “EMS Central” -‐ During major standby and MCI events, you will olen switch to a Citywide frequency, and/or be issued an EMS radio by FDNY FDNY RCC • Primary Device: Phone • Backup Device: None • Login Method: 718-‐999-‐7913 • Contact Phrase: “91-‐Adam logging in” • Purposes: Login/logout, Diversion Info • Best Prac<ces: -‐ Login and logout for each tour -‐ Indicate to the dispatcher the number of ambulances and the expected tour dura4on -‐ RCC also has diversion info if unable to get it from MARS. Note that the dispatcher may provide the list by FDNY hospital ID. A copy of FDNY hospital IDs is available on the driver’s sun visor NYC Parks Department • Primary Device: NYC Parks Portable Radio • Backup Device: NYC Parks Onboard Radio (Bus 6 and 8) • Login Method: Radio • Contact Phrase: “Central Park Medical 6 to Central” • Purposes: Receiving direct requests for EMS in Central Park, generally reported by NYC Parks Enforcement Staff and Conservancy Staff • Best Prac<ces: -‐ Keep radio on your person at all 4mes -‐ Monitor Channel 1 “Z1 UPS” for “CP Medical” or “54 condi4ons” -‐ The frequency covers every park in NYC, so try to iden4fy traffic specific to Central Park -‐ “Trunking” radio system requires you to push the talk buson, and approximately 1 second before transmiMng; system will not let you transmit unless the frequency is clear NYC Parks Department • Example transmission if a Parks Enforcement officer requests EMS -‐ PEP Unit: “Manhasan 25 to Central” -‐ Parks Dispatch: “I have a 54 condi4on at the Band Shell in Central Park on 72nd street.
