Instant shifting with SmeshGear®
SmeshGear® is an high speedshift gearbox that shifts gear under full load,
without loss of energy
SmeshGear® is a basic transmission that is compact, fast, and shiftable under full-load.
Changing gears takes less than 0.001157 seconds with continuous output power! SmeshGear®
operates practically shock-free.
A PERMANENT MECHANICAL CONNECTION
AND YET, GEAR CHANGES UNDER FULL LOAD
SmeshGear® provides a selectable, additional (higher or lower) speed-ratio on a rotating shaft.
The original performance remains what it was, virtually 100%. The additional speed-ratio has yields
greater than 98%.
It makes no difference whether the direction of rotation is left, right, or variable.
No matter where the power comes from, where it goes, or even if it varies: SmeshGear ®
processes it flawlessly.
SmeshGear® is patented worldwide. A gearbox that combines the many benefits of existing
transmissions, without the disadvantages! Fail-safe and well proven.
With the same (electric) motor: SmeshGear® provides these advantages:
• A much wider range of speeds
• Less energy is used, enhancing the range and/or top speed. Mechanical translation keeps
the motor operating in the optimal speed range.
• An up to seven times higher starting torque possible.
• The rpm range is much larger. The motor remains in its ideal rpm range.
• An up to seven times higher breakout force is possible.
• It can provide rapid movement in some applications (e.g. it can quickly raise and lower a
crane, when it is not loaded, saving time!)
• SmeshGear® can function as a gear coupling, i.e. start/run without load.
With the same total performance SmeshGear® permits:
• An up to 40% smaller electric motor
• An up to 40% greater range, due to higher electrical efficiency
• A much smaller electrical and electronic infrastructure
• Smaller change, start-up and operational currents, as well as higher machine efficiency,
especially for operations with many starts and stops
• An electric motor to maintain its power band at high speed. Yield increases of 25% and more
are easily possible for SmeshGear® .
ELECTRIC MOTOR USED AS A GENERATOR:
EXTRA EFFECTIVE DUE TO RAPID DOWN SHIFTING

With the same (electric) motor and the same performance the characteristics are:
 Wider deployment as a result of significantly increasing torque
 Wider availability as a result of higher rpm range
 Energy recovery by using the electric motor to brake
 Extra energy regeneration during braking by shifting down gears
 Less wear on the brakes, due to the additional downshifting
 A very compact, simple, rugged construction
 SmeshGear® can't have error conditions! There is virtually no need for software protection.
 SmeshGear® is applicable to any power and torque! From very small to very large, from
model car to wind turbine.
 Maintenance intervals are selectable during engineering design.
 SmeshGear® always works in either direction: the motor determines the direction of rotation.
In almost all cases SmeshGear® reduces the fixed and variable costs. Great savings can be
made in materials (batteries, electronics), space and weight.
Finally: SmeshGear® makes it easy to save and recover energy.
How environmentally friendly is that!
Product demonstrations on request for companies, such as a ride on our electric
motorcycle that changes gear mechanically under full load, without slowing down, without
decoupling, whilst still applying motor braking. You have to experience it to believe it!
Faster acceleration, greater range, higher top speed!
In short, SmeshGear® is a breakthrough in transmission
technology, especially applicable for today's electric
transportation; energy, material, weight and space saving!

SmeshGear® in practice
In 2012 SmeshGear® was incorporated into an electric
motorcycle. The first test rides revealed large
differences in performance compared to a standard
electric motorcycle.
To make these differences more transparent, power
measurements were carried out on a roller rig.
The results clearly show the differences in acceleration and top speed.
Blue : Motorcycle with SmeshGear®
– low gear only
Red : Motorcycle with SmeshGear®
– top speed 117 km/h
Green : Motorcycle without SmeshGear® – top speed 80 km/h
It is remarkable that during gear changing (between 33 and 42 km/h) the red line does not fall
below the electric motor power output and certainly does not drop to 0 HP. This means that
SmeshGear® continues to deliver power to the rear wheel, even during gear changing.
Acceleration is also continuous.
