Competition
At the time of writing, the Victorian Dressage Festival has just finished
and the Auction of the Stars stallions featured prominently. Regardez
Moi, with Heath Ryan, was second in the Grand Prix beating all
the Australian elite listed horses but was pipped to the post by the
internationally experienced Greenoaks Dundee. Regardez Moi very
clearly has much improvement still to come and we feel that he
is a legend in the making. The 4yo young horse class was won by
Reverence F and Rendezvous placed in both official novice classes
- just two of the Regardez Moi youngsters competing there.
Novice champion and elementary champion were both won by
Dirk Dijkstra riding his sensational young stallion AEA Metallic. It
is our boast that Metallic is the best-moving young horse in Australia
and youngsters from both of these stallions feature in this June
auction. Jive Magic, ridden by Rozzie Ryan, is about to campaign at
Sydney CDI-W and Qld CDI-W. Just back to competition, he scored
a mammoth 72% in the Inter I at Alexander Park on March 18. His
very first foal, Jeff the Chef, has had offers for purchase of six figures,
which thankfully so far Silva Martin has turned down. Jeff the Chef is
now in the US, creating enormous comment. Java (Jade Hamilton),
despite his very young years, is already winning at medium. The Jive
Magics are coming! The auction features two stunning broodmares
in foal to Jive.
Rituel, also ridden by Dirk Dijkstra, has been enjoying great success
at PSG and Inter I and again placed at the Victorian Dressage Festival.
Rituel is on the brink of Grand Prix and all of these new moves will
be demonstrated by Dirk at the traditional masterclass that starts at
11.30 on June 3 before the auction begins.
The two Byalee stallions represent the babies of the six Auction of the
Stars stallions.
Competition
Byalee Romance may have had his first competition start by the time
of the auction and in the masterclass you can be sure you’ll have a
blow-by-blow account from rider Ann-Maree Lourey. Romance is
very young, just four, but is showing breathtaking talent in terms of
his ability to comprehend training and embrace rather sophisticated
concepts. The mental positioning of this youngster makes for a
fascinating study in the masterclass and is highly desirable in horses
designed to take Australia to the top.
Last but not least is the very tall 3yo palomino Briar stallion called
Byalee Briar. This is a collection of performing genetics not previously
available to the Australian breeder. Byalee Briar has a sensational
temperament, really beautiful conformation and quite a remarkable
colour especially considering he’s an out-and-out warmblood.
Just one service to each stallion will be offered in the auction.
This is new territory as until now no services have been offered at
our Auctions of the Future Stars. Services are usually offered at the
Stallions on Tour masterclasses and Auction of the Stars’ performance
horse auctions.
We wish all of you who attend a great day, one that is both educational
and enjoyable. To those of you who come with intent to buy, or better
still return home having bought, we wish you a future with the stars.
Certainly it is our ambition to make sure that as many of these
partnerships as possible reach their potential and we are sure
some of them will represent Australia or other home countries at
the Olympics.
Heath and Ann-Maree

Grand Prix Stallion
16.3hh
1996
At Sydney CDI in May 2006 there were 28 entries in the Grand Prix – the biggest
collection of Grand Prix horses in Australian history! Amoucheur (Kelly Layne) did
his best test ever to win, reigning Australian Grand Prix champion Greenoaks Dundee
(Heath Ryan) was foot perfect for second, both were named on the Australian squad
for WEG. Regardez Moi? This mind-blowing young stallion performed his 4th Grand
Prix ever and let rip with a blinder to place third. April 2007 - and it’s the Victorian
Dressage Festival and the first Australian CDI-W for the year. Two weeks prior to this
international competition, both Regardez Moi and Greenoaks Dundee do a pipe-opener
at Alexander Park Dressage. Dundee does his signature foot-perfect Grand Prix with
the added quality of schooling and calibrations developed whilst with Ulla Salzgeber
in the lead-up to Aachen WEG. It was probably Dundee’s best test ever. Regardez Moi
beat him to win the Grand Prix and also returned what we think is Australian history,
scoring a 10 for one of his piaffes. So to Victoria - Regardez Moi in the big arena still
isn’t quite relaxed enough to do what he did at Alex Park, and although he beat every
other Australian combination including our elite listed horses, Dundee charged in footperfect yet again to win - Regardez Moi second. Regardez Moi is a legend in the making
and we feel he won’t just be an Australian legend, but one that is honoured the world
over. Look out for him! Available live cover only as he is painfully particular! (LFG)

Palomino
Stallion
17hh
2004
Byalee Briar is an amazing opportunity to acquire a highly sought-after European
pedigree - Bjorsells Briar 899 was the world’s number one dressage breeding stallion for
five consecutive yeas! Now rider Jan Brink has chosen the Briar son Biggles as his next
international GP horse. Briar 899 has won numerous international medals. He has eight
different breed society approvals, and has sired no less than five approved sons with two
winning Sweden’s national stallion tests scoring 10s for rideability and gaits. He is famous
for a quote from Olympian Kyra Kyrkland, who said: “I would give my soul for this horse.”
On the dam line, Byalee Briar is out of a Bernstein mare. Bernstein is a Swedish warmblood
stallion, sire of many approved stallions, again with a pedigree that has proved itself in
the ranks of Grand Prix in Europe and the US. Bernstein also sired Madonna, the winner
of the national Swedish finals for four-year-olds, and won the Breeders’ Trophy for 5- and
6-year olds. He was himself stallion of the year in dressage in Sweden in 2001. Together
these bloodlines have now produced what we expect to be one of the most exciting young
stallions to be brought into Australia. Byalee Briar has a soft, regular trot, he has inherited
Briar’s incredible uphill canter with strong shoulder and knee action, and shows that everessential correct walk. Byalee is thrilled to be able to offer these wonderful bloodlines live
in the Southern Hemisphere. As a bonus, Byalee Briar is a palomino, with the colour dating
back eight generations of Swedish warmbloods.

Metallic is one of the newest members of the AEA Team and he has it all
- looks, temperament and, most important, movement to die for! Metallic
shows a powerful, elevated and cadenced trot with not only rare knee action
but also an extremely active hind leg. His canter is out of this world, huge
and big off the ground, again with elevated front leg action. His walk has
a big, impressive overtrack. Metallic is genetically performance-bred: Metal
is by the Dutch black pearl Olympic Ferro, winner of three Olympic silver
team medals including Sydney 2000! Metall’s dam is by Ramiro Z, producer
of international dressage and jumping horses. Metallic’s part in Equitana
2005’s Anky van Grunsven masterclass saw jaw-dropping expressions in the
crowd. Metallic has competed in his first competition in Australia, placing
7th at DWTS 2005 - the only horse in the 5yos’ first round to score 8 for walk.

FEI Stallion
16.3hh
1996
Jive Magic is Rozzie Ryan’s elite project heading for the Beijing Olympics. He is
currently a winner at Prix St Georges and Inter I level. Right now, however, he is
being overshadowed by his younger full brother Chatham Park Jac with Olympic
rider Rachel Sanna in the saddle. Jac has been described by international judges as
being of the highest quality you could hope to see, anywhere in the world. He was
in fact one of the youngest competitors at the World Equestrian Games at Aachen,
at just eight years old! Well, patience is a virtue and Jive Magic is worth waiting for!
As a mare owner this stallion must offer one of the most explosive collections ever
in Australia of dressage genetics. He is about to perform on the international stage
and his talent is obviously very inheritable. The first Jive youngsters are winning
young horse and official classes. Java (Jade Hamilton) is already winning at medium
despite his youth. Silva Martin, rider of the very first Jive foal ever, Jeff the Chef, has
turned down offers of six figures for this elementary horse. He is now in the US,
attracting enormous interest, but hopefully Silva will resist the mighty US dollar and
campaign Jeff the Chef to Grand Prix, where all early signs indicate he will be in a
league of his own. Jive Magic is where you need to be! You don’t even need to be
astute to see this coming! Available live cover and chilled semen (LFG).

Bay
Stallion
16.3hh
2002
Romance is an exciting new prospect by Regardez Moi, who is set to burst onto the
international dressage scene with with Heath Ryan. Mixed with his outstanding Rubenstein
and Donnerhall pedigree is Lanthan (dec), a black 16.2hh stallion (German, imp). Lanthan
sires beautiful, elegant, modern warmbloods renowned for their temperaments and
talent in both dressage and showjumping. Romance marks the dawning of a new age in
dressage. He has an even, regular walk with a clear rhythm that is never hustled under
pressure. The trot has Grand Prix written all over it. It has a wonderful regularity and a
soft and strong swing through the back that makes him a delight to ride – indicating that,
like his dad, he is going to have international standard piaffe and passage. The canter
right from the day he was born had magical talent – what would be collected for any
other horse is something Romance can do on a loose rein, with great expression. He has a
natural suppleness and flexibility particularly through the poll. Mentally, Romance is very
stable, very aware and a great thinker, able to receive sophisticated information and react
without stress. Extremely intelligent, our biggest problem is keeping him amused without
training him too quickly since he never says no! Romance is a beautiful and obviously
upstanding individual - closer analysis makes him incredibly exciting from a technical
point of view and we feel that he is part of a dawning age of dressage in Australia. Available

Rogue Trader

ON ACCOUNT OF RYANS
Pic by Peter Stoop
Chestnut colt 28/12/06
Rogue Trader is an absolutely stunning individual with spectacular
upstanding conformation. He has a quiet confident personality and a really
soft dynamic presence to all of his paces. Walk has great overtrack, trot
is powerful, round and groundcovering, canter is uphill, charismatic and
impressive. He is a dark chestnut, with a beautiful even white blaze splashed
delicately down a magnificent face. Rogue Trader comes from some of the
best dressage bloodlines in existence in Australia. Indeed, these bloodlines
would stand up anywhere in the world. He represents first and foremost
a grand opportunity to partner someone to Grand Prix at the highest
level, secondly his potential as a stallion both commercially and from a
point of view of producing state-of-the-art performance horses is obvious
and exciting.

Brown filly 1/11/04
This beautiful filly has all the options open for her in the future in dressage,
eventing or showing with progeny by Richmeed Medallion enjoying success
at all three. In dressage her sire speaks for himself with performances up to
Grand Prix level, and progeny such as Byalee Magic now also competing
at Grand Prix level. In the showing world, the likes of Mayhem and Mayfly
have consistently won at national level while in eventing, Mystery Whisper
and Magnum, plus many others, are beginning to make their mark. With
her trainability and level-headed attitude this filly is set to be highly
competitive. She has inherited her sire’s renowned hock action in the trot
plus has a lovely “jump” in the canter. She is a full sister to Opal Park Monet,
currently competing in QLD, and Opal Park Matisse, exported as a weanling
in 2006 to New Zealand. She is a pleasure to handle, having been rugged,
floated, trimmed regularly and mouthed. Plus with the renowned ability of
Medallion broodmares to throw stunning foals – see Jack in the Box and
many others like him! – Melba would be an invaluable addition to any

marionette- type action that will be sensational in the Grand Prix arena. His
temperament is quiet and inquisitive. He has large intelligent expressive eyes.
There are three full brothers to Jack, the first, Justin Thyme, was bought by

Chestnut filly 24/11/06
Weltschale displays an extremely expressive and elevated trot with strong
hindquarter activity. She is also very confident, very well conformed and is very
much a people-lover with a great personality! She has the genetics to do dressage
at the highest level. Her sire, Wyndemere, is a son of Wolkenstein II who is in
turn by Weltmeyer, who needs no introduction to dressage enthusiasts. He is
the most famous Hannoverian stallion of all time and arguably the most famous
dressage stallion of all time. Weltmeyer passes the strong movement of his father
World Cup I, who, it has been said, was the founder of a modern dynasty of
dressage sires in Germany as well as throughout the world. Weltschale’s dam,
Mary Poppins, is a lovely big chestnut mare who has dressage star written all
over her as she moves around the paddock showing off her babies. She is by Walt
Disney, a leading Hannoverian sire and half-brother to Weltmeyer. In turn he is
also by World Cup I giving Weltschale a double cross of this important sire. In
the first three generations of Weltschale’s pedigree there are four Hannoverian
stallions who each won their Hannoverian stallion performance tests, World
Cup I, Walt Disney, Weltmeyer and Wolkenstein II. Does anyone really question

Dark brown colt 14/8/06
Jindabyne Rock is quiet in the temperament department but a miracle of elasticity
and power in the athletic department. He has paces that seem to all have in-built
metronomes, so even and relentless are they. He has wonderful hock action and
a graceful defiance of gravity. He is so bred to be a star. His father Jive Magic is
scoring over 72% in his most recent FEI starts with his uncle Chatham Park Jac
already having represented Australia at the World Equestrian Games in 2006.
Jindabyne Rock’s mother is by Regardez Moi, who is one of the rising Grand Pix
superstars in Australia and has just scored a 10 for piaffe in competition - we think
this is a first for any Australian horse. Samphire is Jindabyne Rock’s grandmother
and is amazingly well bred in her own right. Samphire is actually offered for sale

ON ACCOUNT OF AURUM
Brown colt 3/1/07
A colt with a big future. His dam, not surprisingly, is an amazing mover, but his sire is
no slouch either, so this fellow is pretty flash. We expect him to be a great jumper as
well, since the Macartney/Souvenir line is renowned for jumping and the Aachen line
has also produced a number of notable jumpers. Aurigan is by Aurum Alloy, a son of
A-grade showjumper Macartney out of a super-moving thoroughbred mare Begum
Belle (dec) who was one of Aurum’s foundation thoroughbred mares. Alloy has real
power and elevation with a great willingness to work under saddle. His foals show a
beautiful elastic movement that is readily apparent at the walk as well as in trot and
canter. Aurigan’s dam Whanita has a very interesting pedigree. By Wonderful who is a
son of Weltmeyer out of the well-known mare Frauenberg (dam of Gumboot amongst
others), Whanita also has Aachen as her maternal grandfather (Aachen being the sire
of Belcam Aalto). This line has produced a number of top international dressage and
jumping horses including Aava (Stuart Tinney) and Belcam Aberdeen (4* with Jessica
Irvine-Brown). Aurigan has really beautiful movement with seriously good elevation
and elasticity, not surprising given his heritage, and would make a wonderful
dressage horse. However there is little doubt that he would make a top showjumping
or eventing competitor as well. This horse could excel in any discipline.

Jagger
Lot 16
ON ACCOUNT OF RYANS
Pic by Peter Stoop
Bay colt 22/10/06
Jagger is one awesome piece of equipment. He has stately lines with a really
majestic stand-up front. His temperament is steady and aware. Jagger moves with
great power and poise. His trot shows elevation and bend, his canter roundness and
balance, and his walk a great, deliberate overtrack. He is bound for stardom. Jagger’s
mother is full sister to stallions Shylock (standing at stud with Bryce Hocking),
Shakespeare (brilliant young stallion sold at auction for $27, 000), and Stirling Sonnet
(GP dressage horse now in the USA). Of course Jagger’s mother Shirley is by Salute
who is also responsible for Stirling Stilton – highest placed Australian GP horse at
the WEG Jerez 2002; DP Christopher, 2005 NSW GP champion; Victory Salute, 2006
NSW GP champion; GV Sioux , 4* eventer; Staccato, world No 1 eventing stallion;
Rhythmic, NSW Prix St George champion currently training with Hubertus Schmidt
in Germany. And the list goes on and on. Shirley is out of Labella who is the dam
of TL Ramedon a really outstanding FEI horse with Glenda Rooke, later sold to and
campaigned by Olympian Rachel Sanna. Labella is also the dam of Rendezvous (by
Regardez Moi) , a chestnut colt competing on the Victorian dressage scene in young
horse and novice classes. Jagger is a truly awesome individual waiting for a soul
partner who wants to make an international statement.

famous son is of course Krack C who himself is a wonderful dressage “crack”
but above all a sire of some really special young approved stallions who
are competing at international level for young dressage horses. Flemingho’s
dam is by the very exciting bred mare Greetings by Grand Kavalier who is by

Outstanding bloodlines, really big bold movement and with his looks will

Chestnut mare 16.1hh 1995 PPT LFG to Jive Magic
This is a beautiful big mare with a PPT to Jive Magic. She has truly massive
paces and is scopey in every sense of the word. She is by Ilkay who had limited
opportunity but did perform impressively up to PSG. Ilkay himself is really
well bred but has only a limited number of progeny competing. Anky is out of
Annaglanz, bred by Grand Prix judge and FEI rider Vicky Brydon. Anky’s dam is
by Elfenglanz who was an imported Trakehner stallion competing at GP with
West Australian Sally Leigh Woods. Annaglanz is out of Alpha II, dam of Mary
Hanna’s GP dressage horse Londoner. She is also the mother of Don Panache,
campaigning with Olympic gold medallist Stuart Tinney at 2* eventing. Beefeater
Alpha was Kristy Oatley-Nist’s first advanced dressage horse and Benito was an
imported Trakehner stallion campaigned by Chris Chugg for a time at World Cup
level. This mare represents some rare high performance genetics and should
throw the most magnificent Jive foal. Last year’s Jive filly has been retained by
Heath and Rozzie Ryan for stud duties.

Yaramee Magic
ON ACCOUNT OF SHARYN MCCOMBE
Lot 19
Chestnut filly 20/10/05
Yarramee Magic is an absolutely stunning young individual, a feminine replica
of Jeff the Cheff W, Jive Magic’s firstborn foal. His footsteps would be worth
following – he is now competing elementary level in the United States after
winning young horse and novice classes in Australia with German rider Silva
Stigler scoring more than 80%. Yaramee Magic has gorgeous white markings,
super flash movement and an incredible presence. She is out of an Irish
performance mare who was successfully campaigned in dressage and eventing.
The dam, Brannigan’s Pride, has a wonderful temperament and was able to be
competed by juniors. Magic has been hard-fed and rugged and displays a quiet
intelligence with a great aptitude for training. She is well grown and would be
expected to mature 16.2 hh plus. This filly is extremely athletic and could be a
champion in any of the Olympic disciplines. She is a perfect candidate for this
auction as she will indeed be a “star of the future”! Her buyer will be beginning a
partnership with the perfect candidate for success.

Rock Legend
Lot 20
ON ACCOUNT OF RYANS
Pic by Peter Stoop
Black colt 19/12/06
Rock Legend is a black colt with two white hind socks, a compact body, an independent
personality and a real future in front of him. When Rock Legend feels like it, he has
paces that boom up into the atmosphere. He is, however, a pretty laidback character
and is happy cantering and skipping and bucking his foal life away playing with his
many friends in the kindergarten paddock. His mother, Shakira, is a magnificent
broodmare very closely related to Samphire (who is offered as a broodmare in this
catalogue) as both are by Salute and out of full sisters, Samphire from Lilac and
Shakira from Lucilla. These bloodlines are fascinating with Salute being the sire of
Stirling Stilton – highest placed Australian Grand Prix dressage horse at the WEG
Jerez 2002; DP Christopher 2005 NSW Grand Prix dressage champion; Victory Salute
2006 NSW Grand Prix Champion; GV Sioux 4* eventer; and Staccato, World No 1
eventing stallion. Also keep in mind that Shakira’s mother Lucilla is a full sister to
Stirling Liberty (World Cup showjumper with Olympian Gavin Chester and sire of
Grand Prix horse Snowy River Blackwood), Stirling Luther (FEI dressage stallion with
Dirk Dijkstra) and Stirling Luftman (FEI dressage stallion in Thailand). Rock Legend
is by Regardez Moi who has just scored a 10 for piaffe in an official Grand Prix test,
maybe a first for Australia. You would have to think that Rock Legend is going to
have a great future.

Black/brown colt 4/11/06
With his sensational looks, Grand Prix heritage and flamboyant movement he’s
sure to be a star in the dressage arena, yet he also has the blood to produce serious
jumping ability so there’s every chance he will make a top 4* eventer. Revoir is
by Regardez Moi who needs little introduction. He has proven himself right from
the start and his progeny are being purchased by many astute dressage riders
both here and overseas, including previous Olympic representatives. His first
offspring are now scoring more than 80% in competition. Of course many people
may be surprised to know that dual Olympic Gold medallist in eventing, Matt
Ryan, has two young Regardez Moi horses that he believes to be among the best
eventers he has ever sat on! Revoir’s dam Aurum Belle was bred by Aurum out
of a super-moving Vain line mare. Each of her foals has inherited her wonderful
expressive movement and great presence. Of course, Brilliant Invader was by Vain
as well. Aurum Belle is by Floodway who was by Flooding. Flooding was the sire
of many Grand Prix showjumpers, including two-time Olympic representative
Another Flood, and also 3 & 4* eventers including Tidal Wave and Let it Rain,
who was exported to the US and completed the Rolex 4* three day event. Aurum
even stands a Flooding son. Crossed with Regardez Moi Belle produces seriously
amazing foals.

BB Proof
Lot 22
ON ACCOUNT OF J. GRIFFIN
Black colt 31/12/04
Proof is by Whisper, absolutely the best performed dressage stallion ever imported
into Australia. A licensed and performance-tested Hannoverian, Whisper is just
amazing – black and standing at 17hh, he carries the bloodlines and characteristics
of the most successful dressage horses in the world today – Weltmeyer, Pik Bube
and Feiner Stern. As a 4yo in Germany in 2000, he was reserve bundeschampion. At
Verden in 2002 he was first in his class for licensed stallions with a perfect score of 10
for his extended trot. In 2003 at the Dutch National Dressage Championships he was
advanced champion. In 2004 he was advanced and PSG champion at the Australian
Dressage Championships with Mary Hanna. In 2005 he scored successive FEI wins
at the NSW State, Australian Nationals and Dressage with the Stars. In 2006 in his
first season of Grand Prix he was national champion. Proof’s dam is no slouch either
in the performance stakes. BB Phoenix’s first foal by TB stallion Brilliant Invader sold
to Canada. A 6yo, he is winning and placing at 2* level with dressage scores of 73%.
Second foal BB Congo went to event rider Natalie Davies, stand-out winner at his first
start on his dressage score of 80.56%! Phoenix carries the Century genes – moving
and jumping genes. The Century genes appear in both Jamie Kermond’s 2006 WEG
partner Stylish King and Catherine Davies’ champion Queens Consort.

Black colt 10/10/06
Jive Junior is a very typey black colt with great movement. He is particularly quiet
and people friendly. Jive Junior is obviously by Jive Magic who is Rozzie Ryan’s
special project for the Beijing Olympics. Jive Magic recently scored 72% in an FEI
test and his younger brother Chatham Park Jac has already represented Australia
in 2006 at the World Equestrian Games in Aachen. On the dam’s side, Jive Junior
is out of Ruby Rose who is by Regardez Moi, who is one of the most exciting young
Grand Prix dressage stallions on the scene today. Regardez Moi recently scored
10 for piaffe in an official dressage competition, possibly a first for any horse ever
in Australian history. On the bottom line is Diamond Delight who is by the very
interesting stallion Don Ramiro. Don Ramiro was bought as a foal by Heath Ryan
and was an absolute superstar at five years of age, before being sold. He carried
the great Donnerhall bloodlines along with a double cross of Pik Bube. And right
down on the bottom line is the Salute mare Snowshoes who had a number of
foals before being broken in. She showed enormous talent with Olympian Vicky
Roycroft before being sold to the US. Jive Junior has bloodlines, has paces, has
temperament, all to die for. Now all he needs is a partner with great dreams.
