It’s no secret. 2013 was a delicate
vintage, even for the most southern
winegrowing regions. After a late and rainy
spring that required careful cultivation,
summer also kept winegrowers waiting,
calling for even more technique, precision
and attention. Thanks to a rigorous
selection of the best grape clusters
and an occasional leaf removal, the
harvest turned out to be smaller but of
excellent quality. In the end, this rare
vintage lives up to the “Léoube style”.

WHAT CHOICE DO WE MAKE?
Léoube goes organic…why?
Organic,
not organic,
traditional,
2013 ROSÉ DE LÉOUBE,
CHARM AT ITS FINEST
2013 SECRET DE LÉOUBE,
THE CLASSIC LÉOUBE STYLE
Mainly made from Grenache and Cinsault,
completed with a touch of Syrah and
Mourvèdre, this cuvée is clear with light
pink hues. Its inviting nose is fresh and
delicious with hints of red berries and citrus fruit. Its palate is very expressive and
reveals a beautiful round structure. It is
well balanced and has a long and fruity
finish.
The prominent grapes, Grenache and
Cinsault, create a subtle and elegant
blend with a delicate touch of CabernetSauvignon, which makes this cuvee a
true gourmet rose wine thanks to its
depth and precision. Its nose reveals
beautiful complex aromas of plump red
berries and citrus fruit. It has a strong
first impression on the palate and then
allows for the full body of the wine to
come through. The finish is pleasantly
tart, rich and fruity.
Served
between 10 and 12°C,
this wine can be enjoyed as an aperitif with
antipasti or throughout an entire meal
paired with grilled fish, vegetable tian or
goat cheese.
Served
between 10 and 12°C,
this wine is ideally paired with grilled lobster
with a lime mousse, grilled tuna with a
sauce vierge, or veal saltimbocca with sage.
It also goes well with creamy sheep’s milk
cheese and desserts made with red berries.
2013 BLANC DE LÉOUBE,

FOR WHITES
biodynamic…?
Made from Sémillon, Ugni blanc and
Rolle, this wine enjoys a remarkable
environment for producing fine white
wine: proximity to the sea, sea breeze
and cool nights. This cuvée has a great
minerality and reveals complex, floral
and mineral aromas with hints of
white-fleshed fruit. This round wine has
beautiful clear-cut flavours and a fresh
finish.
Served
between 10 and 12°C,
as an aperitif or with marinated anchovy
fillets or refined goat cheese.
In 2000, the true beginning of the vineyard’s return, we opted for the most traditional method possible,
simply because it was our way of doing things. The rule was simple: respect the balance of the plant to
encourage getting the most balanced fruit possible, which we used as the basis for our wine.
Therefore, we are not following a trend but simply following our beliefs and taking something from each
method to make our own: the most suitable technique for our production and our estate. At the time,
Organic certification was not on the agenda. It was important to re-establish the cycle and working of
the vineyard. We wanted to leave the door open and have the ability to act outside of the organic world
if necessary.
It turns out that we didn’t need to and, therefore, were able to meet the organic standards and
specifications. We opted for a certification that confirms our environmentally friendly work method.
At first, wines were “issus de l’agriculture biologique” (products of organic farming), until specifications
changed in 2012. Since then, our wines are considered “Vin Biologiques” (organic wines) since our
farming and winemaking techniques are more selective than the new specifications.
It’s a first this year!
Over 3 days, we welcome you to come visit our estate
