Welcome to the 2015 LFA World Futurity Show and Sale
The early 2015 llama shows and sales have been strong. This is a good sign that our industry and its
supporters remain excited about their llamas and committed to the industry’s success. The LFA Board
promises this year’s LFA show and sale will be one NOT to miss and an event fondly remembered.
With a few minor tweaks and unique additions to the schedule of events, we feel this year’s LFA will
continue the upward momentum that the entire industry is enjoying!
In keeping with the LFA tradition of Fun and Frivolity, make sure you join us Friday evening.
In addition to the open bar and hot hors d oeuvres, Sally Rucker will take us on a historical journey with a
presentation:” Remembering our Roots.”
As one of our industry’s most knowledgeable historians, Sally will take us back to the beginning, briskly
walking us thorough our industry heritage including the Llama Stars in our industry today.
At the conclusion of the presentation, Sally will offer her expert commentary as the LFA introduces the lineup
of gorgeous males available in the Claims Futurity held on Saturday.
The Saturday LFA auction is offering a stunning line up of quality show girls and prominent pedigrees. There will be a girl in this
auction for EVERYONE. Adding that perfect show girl or just looking to include that one special pedigree to your herd, she’s in
this year’s auction!
Kicking off the Saturday afternoon events will be the Male Claims Futurity Classes. Select a proven male or an up and coming
herdsire for a small investment. The finale, of course, is the auction itself.
Remember to enter your sale purchase immediately into the Sunday LFA Futurity.
The Early Bird Special is over and was successful in getting a solid base for the futurity classes. Now it’s time for the rest of us to
get our entries in. Go to the LFA website for the entry forms and guidelines.
The 2015 LFA will wrap up our events with the Renowned LFA Futurity Classes on Sunday morning. Once again offering the
prestige of placing and taking home the largest premiums paid in the industry. The exhibitors will be pleased to learn that the
announcement of the top 10 winners will take place immediately following the final futurity class on Sunday morning.
In closing I want to thank all the sponsors, consignors and volunteers. Without your generous and ongoing support, this event
could not be brought to the llama community for all to enjoy. It’s not too late to offer your support to ensure the LFA Sale and
Futurity returns for years to come. The sponsorship page on the LFA website outlines several options for you to participate.
See you soon.

Claims Futurity - New Class Added for 2015
Maturity Futurity
The Claims Futurity is designed as an opportunity for LFA members
to market their young intact males 5 months and over of any wool type
or coverage. The entry fee is $100 per llama and NO COMMISSION
will be charged for class C1 & C2. Class C3 entry fee is $50.
Class C1 & C2: Claimants may claim their selected llama for $1000
at any time before the placing of the class. These Males are typically
proven not only in the show ring but have award winning offspring
on the ground.
New in 2015, Class C3: Claimants may claim their selected llama for
$500 at any time before the placing of the Class.
Class C3 was added to allow breeders to offer intact males at a reduced
claim fee. This class is intended to facilitate sales of quality, affordable
males that may or may not have the same industry recognition as
Class C1 & C2. Class C3 will encompass all intact males 5 months and
over and will allow the buyer to purchase a new show boy or herdsire
quality male with a minimal investment.
A review of the Claims Entrants pedigrees and a hands on opportunity
will be offered for each division. The claims futurity sale will be on a
private treaty basis and DNA testing will not be required, however the
LFA is NOT responsible for the genetic parentage of the claims entries.
Judging criteria will be the same as the World Futurity. Payouts will
be 70% for first, 20% for second and 10% for third place, based upon
entry fees (PLEASE NOTE: LFA will be retaining $25 from each entry
Class C1 and C2, and $12.50 from entries in Class C3) and the balance
from each entry will be split between the owner and the claimant.
Ribbons will be awarded to sixth place.
The Maturity Futurity is being offered for those llamas who are over two
years of age. It is open to any fleece type or coverage. There is not age limit
for entries. This is a wonderful opportunity to show off and market your
mature breeding llamas, male and/or female. Ribbons will be awarded to
sixth place. The entry fee is $150 per llama. Judging criteria will be the
same as the World Futurity. Payouts will be the same as those for the World
Futurity. Class winners will be eligible to compete for the World Futurity

Judge for Male Claims Futurity
STEVE AULD
Steve was first introduced to llamas in 1988 on his uncle’s farm in northern Minnesota. Chuck “Buzz”
Kraft owned Chuck Kraft Heartland (CKH) Llamas and was involved in the Minnesota and Wisconsin
llama communities, including designing obstacle courses at the Minnesota State Fair. Steve, and his wife,
Sandy, immediately fell in love with llamas and knew someday they would have their own.
Fast forward 18 years and in 2006 Steve and Sandy finally get their chance to buy a rural property.
Promising to wait one year before they brought home their first llamas, they couldn’t handle it. Three
months later, they brought home their starter herd… four classic females for the total price of $250.
From there the obsession was on. The Aulds have involved both of their children, Talon and Aspen, into
the lifestyle as well. Their herd is now 40+ strong and the Aulds attend between 8 and 13 shows each year
as they just love to show and play with their llamas.
Steve’s first job as a 13 year old was umpiring fast pitch softball games in Sioux Falls, SD. He would
expand into officiating other sports such as hockey, basketball and soccer. At the age of 16, Steve was an
accomplished enough softball umpire that he was asked to work national girls tournaments for players
older than he was. The coaches learned quick there was no intimidating Steve.
Steve decided to take his passion for officiating and his love of llamas and make the natural connection of
becoming a judge. In 2013 Steve attended the ILR-SD judging clinic but it took him another year to get
his apprenticeships done. Steve became a certified ILR-SD judge in October 2014.
Steve, Sandy and Aspen Auld own and manage Aspen Rayne Ranch from their new home in Waverly,
Iowa. Steve is an Information Technology Manager for CUNA Mutual Financial Group, volunteers as the
Information Technology Consultant to the ILR and also judges goat shows.
“It is an honor to be asked to judge an LFA show in just my first year. I look forward to meeting many
new friends as I judge shows in places we have yet to visit.”

RENEE HOBBINS
Michigan born and raised Renee Hobbins is a self-taught artist who fell in love with llamas 30 years ago
while child sitting for Juliet Sprouse. That led to a herd of her own, now 15, and many opportunities to
share her love for llamas with family, 4-H members, fiber artists, and the local fair. Renee works with oil
and chalk pastels, acrylic paint, painting on ceramics, as well as creating llama dolls, felting, and spinning
her own yarn. Her favorite thing about llamas is the peace they bring while just sitting with them and the
feel of their luxurious fiber as she sinks her hands into it.

PVL Charita is the result of four generations of progressive breeding on our farm. I recommend
going through her pedigree on ILR and trying to find many dam lines that compete. Her grand dam,
PVL Jasmine, produced $47,500 in sales for our farm. Her dam, PVL Illusion, has produced several
winners including PVL Illuminations, Best of Show at Great Lakes Regionals, owned by Barb and
Tom Parsons. Charita may be the stretchiest llama in her incredible pedigree with the best head and
ears. She is a show stopper and will be a headline female. We have had three different farms buy at
least two females from this dam line because of the consistency and how much fun they have had
with them. Make sure you check this girl out and look at what this girl can do for your farm.

daughter out the large and impressive CEF Bellasera. We purchased Ballerina at our 2007
Hard Rock’s Gold Rush where we felt she stood out to us for her strong conformation and
powerful genetics. Ballerina has produced 3 cria for us, the first being Hard Rock’s Golden

bred her to Hard Rock’s Absolut Citron for what we feel will be a future show contender! We

Cookie shares his style with her long, beautiful, dark fiber and bangs that frame her lovely llama face.
Her dam, Hard Rock’s Fortune Cookie, is a Peruvian El Gris daughter who has produced a multitude
of fancy females for us. I would highly recommend taking a look at her dam’s production record when
considering this fine female. Cinnamon Cookie has been shown twice in stiff competition and was at
the top of her large, competitive class at March Llama Madness. I think she just keeps getting better

Golden Boy is an extremely correct male with a lot of nice bone and gorgeous fiber and coloring. Golden Boy passed

first offspring of his dam, FLT Pink Dyamond, a large red suri female that sold at the LFA last year to Randy Cipriano.

Prime’s dam is Jackpot Maggie who herself is a halter champion and a granddaughter of the well-known Kantu and
Jackpot. His sire, Pepper Moon, is an outcross suri male with awesome suri fiber and striking markings. Prime was
shown very limitedly. In 2010 Prime won his class of yearling suri males, and was grand champion of the suri division
and received the SSLA Best of Show award at the NE Tennessee Llama Show. We also took him to the first gathering
of Friends and Champions where he won his class of two year olds and was reserve champion suri male. We have bred
him to two of our females. The first breeding resulted in a stylish male who in a very short time went on to accumulate
37 halter and 99 performance SD points including Reserve Champion Novice performance at the 2014 Gathering.
The late fall of 2014 brought the results of the second mating by producing an eye catching black and white suri paint
female. As of this writing this female was not old enough to show. I think we named him correctly because he is
“Prime”! A proven male in the arena and breeding pen!

their llama, and only those llamas announced at the sale as being available
on terms will be sold using the promissory note. 2.) Terms are only available on llamas selling for at least $5,000. 3.) At least 50% of the purchase
price will be paid as a deposit with the balance due in 1 year with 10% interest being assessed. 4.) All llamas being financed must be insured before

 Bidding: The highest bidder recognized by the Auctioneer shall be the
Buyer. Bids tendered after the fall of the hammer are not valid grounds for
dispute. If any dispute arises between two or more bidders or in the event of
doubt on the Auctioneer's part as to the validity of any bid, the Auctioneer
will have the final discretion either to determine the successful bidder, or to
re-offer and resell the llama in question. The Auctioneer's determination is
conclusive and not subject to challenge. The Auctioneer reserves the right
to reject any bid.
 Title and Delivery: Title passes to the Buyer upon the fall of the hammer.

 Registration Papers: All registration papers will be delivered by First Class
Postage when checks clear the bank. Please write your full name and correct and current address on the envelope provided for you by the cashier.

 Default of Purchase: If any person shall purchase a lot and fail to pay for it
in the manner described above, the Seller shall have, in addition to all other
legal rights, the right to resell the lot, or at Seller's option, bring an action
for specific performance, in which event the defaulting Buyer agrees to pay
all costs of such suit, together with all reasonable attorney's fees and costs.
In the event of a resale, the defaulting Buyer agrees to pay all costs of the
resale, plus any deficiency between the original total purchase price and the
total purchase price upon resale.
 Transportation: The Buyer, at the Buyer's own expense, shall transport the
llama from the auction. Any arrangement or disposition of the llama after
purchase other than immediate removal must be made directly between the
Buyer and Seller.
