My grandmother`s bracelet

My grandmother‘s bracelet
My grandmother hands her money to the cashier,
in exchange for my bracelet.
Before I am able to hand over my own money,
she snatches it politely over and starts to put it on for me.
I look at it in awe, and, when she has finished,
I run over to my mother so that she can look at it too.
Just then, my grandmother comes over and says to me,
''Wear this bracelet everyday,
to keep you away from harm and danger,
wear this bracelet everyday,
wear it just for me''.
And now, years after she has died,
years after May 25th 2008,
I still wear this bracelet to keep me safe from danger and harm,
to wear it just for her,
my grandmother.
