Orndorf will be perforning, true to life, in Elvis
Regalia. Chef Joseph will provide Elvis-Themed
food stylings such as Elvis’ favorite, Fried Peanut
Butter and Banana Sandwiches. Only fools will
not rush in to the Hunka-Hunka Burnin’ Love
Party on the 20th of February.

Frank and Helen at Happy Hour
Frank and Helen just love dancing at Happy Hour! We have
wonderful music and live entertainment every Friday at 2:30 PM, in
the Lobby.
Eleanor and Dora
Eleanor and Dora dance together at Happy Hour every Friday. If
the music has a catchy beat, you had better believe their toes are
tapping and their hips are swinging!
Bingo
Bingo is nothing to sneeze at here at Lake Forest
Park. Our regular Bingo players are a group of
shrewd card sharks.
When I wrote my January
newsletter article I stated
“It is hard to believe that
we are celebrating the
arrival of 2014”. Now
it is already February.
Time flies (often too fast).
February is the month for
hearts. We will be commemorating National
Heart Month and celebrating Valentine’s Day.
National Heart Month is the month dedicated
to looking after our hearts. February includes
Women’s Heart Week starting February 1
through the 7th, capped off on February 7th
which is “Wear Red Day”.
February is also the month that we celebrate
Valentine’s day. Being a history buff, I just
had to look up some facts. Valentine greetings
were popular as far back as the Middle Ages,
though written Valentine’s didn’t begin to
appear until after 1400. The oldest known
valentine was a poem written in 1415 by
Charles, Duke of Orleans, to his wife while
he was imprisoned in the Tower of London.
Americans probably began exchanging hand-
made valentines in the early 1700s. Women
purchase approximately 85 percent of all
valentines. 141 million Valentine’s Day cards
are exchanged annually, making Valentine’s
Day the second-most popular greeting-cardgiving occasion.
February is the time when we need to
work on protecting our hearts, literally and
emotionally. If you haven’t seen your doctor in
a while this is a good time to do so. Watch out
for Cupid, you never know who will be the
target of his arrows. Don’t forget to join in on
the Lake Forest Park February activities listed
on the calendar.
