Logan is nestled on the east side of the Cache Valley in northern Utah and is the home of Utah State
University and much of Utah’s agricultural land. The
city is steeped in history, yet today is a growing
cosmopolitan area. Providence lies one mile south
of Logan, and shares many of the advantages of the larger town,
while maintaining its more rural character.
Metro Salt Lake City:
Utah’s capitol city lies in a valley east of the
Great Salt Lake and is surrounded by mountains.
Home of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day
Saints (a.k.a., the LDS or Mormon Church), the city
is also home to the University of Utah, museums, and businesses
with local, as well as global influence.
Local activities include theater, festivals, historic tours, rock climbing, fishing, bird watching, camping, hiking, boating and more.
Salt Lake City and the surrounding cities provide shopping areas,
parks, and access to numerous recreational activities. Visit competition venues used during the 2002 Winter Olympics or take in a
game at one of the area’s four professional sports teams.
A trip east through Logan Canyon takes one to Caribbean look-alike
Bear Lake, or travel west to visit the Golden Spike National Historic
Site, the location of the meeting of the Union Pacific and Central
Pacific Railroads which completed the transcontinental rail link.

With an international airport, Salt Lake City is used by many as a
central base from which to experience the many National Parks
and Monuments, and many other activities, available in the west.
Park City and the Wasatch Back: The classic alpine area
of Park City features three World Class Mountain resorts and is
a favorite spot for winter sports, and hiking, biking, fishing and
golfing in the summer. Just east of Salt Lake City, Park City hosted
numerous 2002 Winter Olympic events, and is known as the
home of The Sundance Film Festival. An array of unique shops, art
galleries, restaurants and theaters call Park City home. The Heber
(Midway) and Kamas Valleys provide a classic Western small-town
feel along with numerous recreational and cultural opportunities.

Central Utah
Truly central to Utah, along Heritage Highway
#89, Central Utah’s pioneer heritage is revealed in
the towns, and in the cultural and recreational opportunities that abound. Historic buildings, several
of which are now Bed and Breakfast inns, are plentiful in both Manti and Spring City.
The Historic Manti Temple (one of the first built by the LDS Church),
Pioneer homes and museums, as well as those of contemporary art
are located throughout the area. Spring City’s in-town year-round
spring is a unique feature that drew settlers to the area.
Area activities include boating, fishing, camping, golf, and rock
climbing. More than 500 miles of ATV trails may be accessed
directly from some area inns. Horseback riding, mountain biking,
and winter snowmobiling are also popular uses of the trails.
Utah’s original Statehouse building in Fillmore stands today as the
oldest existing governmental building in the state.
Central Utah is also home to The Cleveland-Lloyd Dinosaur
Quarry, one of the world’s foremost dinosaur fossil sources.

Cedar City: Located in southwestern Utah, Cedar
City features a historic downtown with unique “mom
and pop” establishments, art galleries, restaurants,
and many other shops that line the quaint shopping
area. The city is home to the Tony Award-Winning
Utah Shakespearean Festival, and its proximity to Bryce Canyon
National Park, Brian Head Ski Resort and Cedar Breaks National
Monument allow visitors to enjoy the best of Southern Utah.
Also close to Bruce Canyon is Panguitch, a historic rural community with growing cultural and recreational activities. Just outside
of the Bryce Canyon itself lies Tropic, which also serves as the
southwestern end of the All-American Scenic Highway #12.

S.Central – Capitol Reef/Grand Staircase Escalante
The Grand Staircase Escalante National
Monument and Capitol Reef National Park,
plus National Forest lands may be accessed from
this part of Utah. Scenic Byway, Highway #12,
is known as one of the most spectacular drives in
the US. From the edge of Bryce Canyon to Capitol Reef, it passes
through wild canyon country with dramatic vistas. Small historic
towns along the route allow access to deeper exploration of
Native American sites, arches, fins, and slot canyons.

Southeast– Arches/Canyonlands NP
Moab: This southeastern
Utah town is known as “the adventure capitol
of Utah”, and “off-road vehicle capitol of the
world.” Moab is also home to one of the most challenging mountain bike trails in the world.
The gateway to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, Moab
also offers great hiking, rock climbing, rafting, kayaking and
canoeing for people of all skill levels.
Closest to Capitol Reef National Park are B & B’s located in Torrey
and Teasdale. Set on the edge of The Grand Staircase Escalante
National Monument, B & B’s may be found in Escalante.
Moab is located on Utah Hwy. 191 on the banks of the Colorado
River in a green valley that stands out against the red and tan
desert landscape. Nearby Castle Valley lays deep among peaks
and spires, just off Scenic Highway #128.
