“All the world’s a jest...he who laughs last, laughs best!”
Disguises, cross dressing, a late-night forest prank, plots
and counterplots – it’s a laughfest of operatic proportions!
Sir John Falstaff, a well-aged knight who thinks he’s still “got it,”
sends identical love letters to two married ladies in the hopes
of tapping into their husbands’ fortunes and restoring his
dwindling finances.
The merry wives of Windsor are quickly onto him however, and
the down-and-out Knight of the Garter is soon hung out to dry!

Promises kept and fragile hearts broken.
The young poet, Werther, falls instantly in love with the beautiful
and unattainable Charlotte; however, Charlotte has promised to marry
another. Werther tries to stay away, but his tormented heart aches to
be with her. Seeking peace the only way he knows how, he takes his
own life as Charlotte finally returns his love.
Based on the great German Romantic poet, Goethe’s
semi-autobiographical novel, The Sorrows of Young Werther.
Irresistible melody infused with vivid and lush orchestration,
results in a masterpiece that is among the most exquisite
and moving in all of French opera.
