When it launched in early 2016 the series considerably outperformed the slot average with 3.7 million viewers (15% share) in primetime on ITV 1. A group of famous faces, who eat sugary diets just like we do, turn their backs on the modern food industry to live and work on a country farm in return for their share of healthy, wholesome food. Breaking their addiction to sugar will push their bodies to the limits. Living in a farmhouse, set deep in the English countryside, the celebrities’ roles are split between working on the farm and preparing and cooking the sugar-free meals. As the workers get stuck into their new lives on the farm, where they are tasked with milking water buffalo, rounding up pigs and poultry and fertilizing the crops, amongst other duties, the drama soon begins. With fruit and alcohol on the forbidden list, can life ever be sweet again for our six celebrity guinea pigs and what will the new regime do to their waistlines? Embarking on the radical regime are musical theatre star JANE MCDONALD, comedian RORY MCGRATH, quiz mastermind and Chaser MARK LABBETT, actress TUPELE DORGU, TOWIE’s JAMES ‘ARG’ ARGENT and dancer JENNIFER ELLISON. A Liberty Bell production for ITV 1 6 TASKMASTER In this brand new entertainment format the Taskmaster, with the help of his loyal assistant, sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper competitive comedians. Setting a series of strange and surreal challenges, the Taskmaster will push the contestants to the limits of comic invention and give them the chance to be more competitive, inventive and mischievous than ever before. With the chance to be crowned Taskmaster champion, and to win each other’s belongings, rivalry is encouraged, dodgy tactics rewarded and bribes accepted in what is set to be the most dogged, hard-fought and ridiculous comedy entertainment format on TV. Taskmaster started out as a critically acclaimed live show, devised by 2014 Foster’s Comedy Award nominee Alex Horne, which ran at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2010 and 2011. Following a successful first series, Taskmaster will return with an extended two series run in 2016. “Wildly stupid fun... a winner” The Guardian “splendidly silly new gameshow” The Times HHHH An Avalon Television production for UKTV Episodes available: 16 x 60’ 7 FORMAT KIDS WITH CAMERAS Kids With Cameras is an innovative and refreshing factual format for ITV 1. The uplifting series asks young patients in hospital to tell their stories in their own words. Over 100 youngsters were given cameras and asked to record their experiences of hospital. The results are intimate, funny and surprising. MONEY PIT Children aged 6 to 16 talk to the cameras about their illnesses, they interview their parents and record themselves undergoing treatment, eating, playing, taking medication and interacting with medical staff. Whether they are in hospital for an everyday injury, major surgery or life-threatening illness, the videos provide an intimate look and fresh insight into what it’s really like to be a child in hospital. The series is narrated by MARTIN CLUNES (Doc Martin). Money Pit is a new factual entertainment format in which a crowd of total strangers put their own money on the line in the quest to invest in fledgling businesses that could make their fortunes. But they’ll have to club together to raise enough money to get the businesses to their target - and that’s when tempers flare and the game-playing begins. Kids with Cameras started life as a Thursday night primetime series for ITV1 in the UK. In 2015 the format was remade by Shine Endemol Group company Simpel Media as a six-part series, Kids Mit Cameras, which aired on Tuesday nights at 21:30 on the public broadcaster NPO1, achieving over 1m viewers. The format is already in development in another European territory. Fast, funny and compelling, Money Pit is inspired by the growing international trend of crowd-funding. Anything can happen as the larger-than-life investors form alliances, fall out and use ruthless and surprising tactics in a race to the thrilling finale, where it’s revealed who’s got a deal and which businesses have hit their target. 8 A Liberty Bell Production for UKTV Episodes available: 8 x 60’ “As this inspiring new TV series shows, despite all these children’s problems, it is a bubble that is full of humour and hope.“ Daily Mail “The result has an unforced charm and a lack of blatant emotional manipulation that feels genuinely refreshing.“ The Times (T2) A Liberty Bell Production for ITV 1 9 FORMAT FLOCKSTARS A cast of famous faces swap red carpets for green fields in a celebrity competition format from the heart of the countryside. In this prime-time series, which had its UK premiere on ITV 1 in summer 2015, celebrities take on the challenge of sheepdog trialling. Competing in an intense eight-week knockout, the stars will be vying for centre stage with their four-legged partners to herd flocks of sheep and geese around a set of challenging courses, specially designed to test their skill, technique and discipline. Trained and guided by three professional mentors the stars must fully embrace a new way of life. Will this brush with nature become second nature to the Flockstars? Brace yourself as “it’s time to release the sheep” and see which of the stars will be able to adapt their skillset to master the most impressive of countryside sports. “It may sound as if TV game shows have finally jumped the shark – or indeed the sheep – but Flockstars is the first really good idea ITV have had for some time. Brilliant title, cracking concept: like One Man and His Dog, but with national appeal.” Sunday Telegraph 10 A Liberty Bell Production for ITV 1 Episodes available: 8 x 30’ TV BURP ITV’s number one rated comedy show Harry Hill’s TV Burp ran for over 11 years from 2001 to 2012. Clumsy lust, instant pregnancy, and genuine disaster provide the foundation for this flaming hovel of a relationship. In a mess of events always in danger of slipping out of their grasp, Rob and Sharon must also learn to deal with her largely awful friend (ASHLEY JENSEN, Extras, Ugly Betty); his eccentric Bostonian mother (CARRIE FISHER, Star Wars); and attempt to navigate the choppy waters of their ever-more-complicating lives. Man Down will return to Channel 4 for a third series later this year. Series two saw Dan come to a conclusion: he must change. Still trapped in a teaching job he despises and rejected by the girl he thought would solve everything, Miss Lipsey (JEANY SPARK, Wallander), he turned his attentions to self-improvement. His friend Jo (ROISIN CONATY, Impractical Jokers) threw herself into consecutive doomed projects and remained blissfully happy with near-constant failure, while Brian (MIKE WOZNIAK) was distracted by an unspoken event that was rocking his steady world, meaning Dan had to fend for himself. His always kind mother (GWYNETH POWELL, Grange Hill) and petrifyingly blunt aunt Nesta (STEPHANIE COLE, Open All Hours) knew he needed help – and his pupils agreed. Did this series see Dan move on, avoid complete humiliation and evolve into a functioning member of society? No... no, it didn’t. “Greg Davies’ madcap sitcom scales new heights of brilliance.” The Times “Dan is a brilliant creation, a towering oaf whose self-delusion and gift for setting off minor disasters remind you of the greats – the Fawltys and the Brents.” Radio Times 14 An Avalon Television Production for Channel 4 Episodes available: S1: 7 x 30’, S2: 7 x 30’, S3: 6 x 30’ NOT GOING OUT COMEDY & ENTERTAINMENT MAN DOWN Not Going Out is a multi-award-winning sitcom written by and starring LEE MACK, the British Comedy Award and BAFTA winning comedian. Cast from previous series also includes BAFTA award-winning comedian TIM VINE and MIRANDA HART (Call the Midwife, Miranda). “The main reason to watch Not Going Out has always been because of its absolutely ingenious one-liners, puns and double entendres… Not Going Out remains a rare thing - a brightly lit British studio sitcom that is actually worth staying in for.” Metro “It’s extremely well crafted, smart and warm.” The Guardian An Avalon Television production for BBC One Episodes available: 58 x 30’ & 3 x 45’ Christmas Specials 15 STARTS ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 15 AT 9.30PM Based on the award-winning comedy of JOSH THOMAS, and inspired in part by actual painfully awkward events, Please Like Me is a uniquely honest comedy drama series about growing up quickly. Josh has had a few eventful years. Moving back in with his bipolar mother just after she attempted suicide wasn’t quite the way he’d imagined kicking off his 20’s. Getting dumped by his girlfriend on the same day she told him he was gay wasn’t part of the plan, either. So by the time he found and lost his first boyfriend, had his heart broken by his hot flatmate, delivered a eulogy for his beloved great aunt, gained a surprise baby sister, checked his mum into a mental hospital and then fell in love with one of the patients, he became pretty unfazed by life’s challenges. Please Like Me has been lauded by critics around the world. It has earned nominations for the International Emmy Awards, the Rose d’Or Awards, The GLAAD Media Awards, the Logie Awards and for nine AAACTA Awards, winning trophies for Best Comedy Series and Best Performance in a TV Comedy. “It’s sweet, sharp, sad, funny and astute in its observations of modern life, social mores and family interactions.” The Age “One of the best shows on TV.” Time 16 “It’s comedy gold.” Entertainment Weekly Episodes available: S1 6 x 30’, S2: 10 x 30’, S3: 10 x 30’ A Pigeon Fancier / John and Josh International Production of a Participant Media Original Series in association with ABC TV TRYING AGAIN COMEDY & ENTERTAINMENT PLEASE LIKE ME SEASON 3 Trying Again is an original British comedy co-created by Emmy and Oscar award nominated writer SIMON BLACKWELL (‘Veep’, ‘In the Loop’) and actor and comedian CHRIS ADDISON (‘The Thick of It’). But it’s not easy when you live in a small town, where everyone knows everyone’s business, and the past is breathing down your neck. Trying Again is a romantic comedy of errors about love, loss, friendship and nearly flinging it all away. Awkward moments between a brilliantly talented cast make the show truthful, painful, and full of very funny stuff. “The supporting cast was excellent and the script fizzed with wordplay and pop culture references… Warm, witty, winningly old-fashioned and flat-out funny. I’ll be trying Trying Again again.” The Telegraph “It’s a rom-com with edge.” The Independent Episodes available: 8 x 30’ & 1 x 30’ special An Avalon Television production for Sky “A delight.” The Times 17 COMEDY & ENTERTAINMENT RUSSELL HOWARD’S GOOD NEWS Each week, multi-award winning comedian, RUSSELL HOWARD offers up an energetic look at global goings-on and finds his own uniquely upbeat angle on the news, from over 60 International news channels, 140 newspapers from around the world and over a thousand news clips.
