The Otago Hospice Fundraising Golf Tournament was
held on the course on Friday 31st Ocotber. 44 Teams of
four teed off in what is believed to be the largest shotgun
start tournament that can be remembered.
It was a wonderful fundraising exercise for the Hospice
and $30,000 was raised via fees, raffles and an Auction on
the night. Phillipa and Geoff worked the upstairs bar and
Geoff believes takings of $4,300 was a record. For one
day at the bar.

Tom Campbell who used to be a member at St Clair and played for New Zealand and now lives
in the USA has recently qualified for the main web Dot Tour.
Tom’s mother is Diane Campbell who is a member at St Clair will be among many who are proud
of this achievement.

ITS Casual Thursdays—All
newcomers and 9 holers
are welcome. Thursday
after work groups of women or men can come and
learn to play by participating in 9 holes of non competitive golf. Each week
they will receive a tip or
two to help them learn the
rules of golf and help them
feel more confident every
week.
It is going to be a festive
active and fun sort of a day
in the week where all are
welcome and become introduced to the best golf
course in Dunedin .
Sharon Keith has been the
volunteer member present
also to offer tips and pointers to new golfers. This
night of the week is proving
to be popular .
The café is open till 8.00pm
Otago Medical Research Foundation Golf Tournament
The winners on the day included
Brett MCormack, Greg Flannery,
and Chris Idour .
“The course was in magnificent
condition and it rained birdies –
and the occasional eagle – as the
field enjoyed a fine start to the
Spring charity tournament season, banding together to raise
funds for the Foundation’s annual
research grants’ allocation. Just
under $18,500 was raised on the
day for Medical Research”

them stimulated and they all seem to be having fun.

Tournament Successes
Kings High Sports Day Fundraising Tournament was a hug success for the school. They raised in excess
of $15,000 on the day for the school. 38 Teams of four turned up to to play and add their involvement
and sporting enthusiasm. Dan Reddick –Principal spoke at the Prizegiving and made mention of the special relationship that Kings has with St Clair Golf Club. Neil our Professional is a crucial link in this connection and works alongside Darrin Smith very closely on a regular basis with the boys involved in junThe players who participated in the Kings High
School Golf Tournament here on the course on Friday 10th October.
This tournament was very successful for the school
and it was mentioned at the high school prize giving
as being very important to the school .

Otago Cricket are holding their golf Tournament on
Friday 14th November .
In the Annual Report just released under Marketing
and Events St Clair Golf Club gets a mention.
“ The Stephen Duff Mitsubishi Golf Day was once
again held at the ST Clair Golf Course, an enjoyable
day for all who attended. This event is a fantastic opportunity for our sponsors and supporters to mingle
with the Volts and their management in a relaxed
environment.
At this years tournament Dave McLay provided and
opportunity for his family members to play with one
of the volts. Dave was the successful bidder at the
Fundraiser Auction and paid $400 for the privilege of
this day out. We look forward to hearing all about it.
The JW Smeaton Shootout final is to be
held on Sat 29th November.
