For a week, beginning on Sunday, July 3rd the Junior Choristers (ages 8-18) gather to sing, play, make new friends and worship together on the beautiful campus of Rothesay Netherwood School in Rothesay, NB. Adult Choristers and the Young Adults are welcomed later in the week where they will enjoy a comprehensive program of singing and fellowship. Choir School Staff Registration Process The Junior Choristers are supervised by a capable staff, including a house mother, full-time nurse and energetic and caring teenage and young adult counsellors. Other adult staff include the Administrative Director Rev. Chris Hayes, a chaplain and worship leader, a dedicated musical leadership staff, and a crafts coordinator. Behind the scenes there are many others who make Choir School a success each year. We are pleased to announce that Kevin Parks, Minister of Music at St. Andrew’s United Church in Halifax will be joining us once again as the Adult Clinician. Please refer to our website for further information regarding staff at this year’s Choir School. Activities Choir School celebrates 60 years In July 2017 the Diocesan Choir School celebrates 60 years of serving the musical education and enjoyment of young and adult choristers in our communities. Special efforts will be made to mark this milestone. Look for information on our website and in our communications with your parishes regarding special events to commemorate this anniversary. This will be a time for you to help promote the reasons why you enjoy Choir School and to encourage your friends and family to join us for this celebratory year. Young Adults We are happy to offer a unique program for young adults ages 18-29. In addition to joining with the adult choristers you will have time with one of our musical directors to prepare an anthem. You will also enjoy a social event on Saturday night. A weekend of music and fellowship awaits you at Choir School. Accommodation and meals are available to you. Check out our website for more information and the registration form for costs. We look forward to seeing you at Choir School. Although singing and Christian education are a big part of the chorister's day at Choir School, the Juniors enjoy many outdoor activities and games. A particular highlight is “circle time” at the end of the day , as well as the annual game of “dough boy” and “capture the flag”. Daily tuck (treats), movies, a talent show and other organized activities keep bodies and minds busy and nurtured. Residence and Meals Residence facilities are available for Junior Choristers on campus, however both Juniors and Adults may attend as day choristers. Day choristers participate in all activities and receive all meals on campus. Healthy and tasty meals are served in the dining hall on campus. Follow Choir School on Facebook at Choir School 2016 and on our website ~ www.anglicanchoirschool.com Upon receipt of the registration form and the $25 deposit, the Choir School Registrar will forward by email (preferably) or regular mail any additional information that you will require.
