There is no guessing with Ungava Adventures – we are professionals - we do it right. Answers to the Most Popular Questions Why Hunt The North Ungava Region? One- The massive expansion of the Quebec Labrador Caribou in recent years has brought drastic changes to their traditional migratory patterns. The animals now move further north, closer to the shores of Ungava Bay. At the peak of the massing, close to half a million caribou use the Koksoak-Leaf River massing area. Two- Exclusive territories (Native Controlled Lands) means less hunter traffic which translates into more and bigger bulls for select hunters. Three Same day access by 727 jet from Montreal to Kuujjuaq in less than 2 hours Threemeans you hunt from day one. Why Do Rates Vary? Price variations reflect a number of crucial factors including the quality of the outfitters equipment, the level of services provided, and most of all his hunting territories. When hunting is difficult the outfitter should have facilities, equipment and experience to provide alternative arrangements. You only get what you pay for continues to prove itself right. What Is Your Success Rate? The short answer is close to 100% shooting opportunity but outfitting like hunting itself is an art and not a science. Take away the spirit of fair chase and you eliminate the very nature of the sport. Outfitters are like lawyers and doctors - the very best have proven track records and only the foolish would gamble with an inexperienced or part time practitioner. Ungava Adventures has over 30 years of solid reputation and commands the respect of the professional hunting fraternity. Take the time to contact some of our past references and check the record books. Do I really need a guide? First, keep in mind that no matter which package you decide to select the fundamentals will be provided. Somewhat like a cruise ship there is one destination. Nevertheless, you get what you pay for. When the caribou are plentiful the playing field is fairly level. When the caribou are not cooperating a good guide and all the additional support systems frequently, but not always, make the difference. If you still have difficulty deciding give us a call. We understand that budgets, budgets time and numerous other factors may influence your choice. Rest assured if we cannot satisfy your needs we will tell you up front! What About Bringing gunS to Canada? NOT A PROBLEM! These days mention guns and registration in the same sentence and you are sure to create mass hysteria. The fact remains that we host hundreds of American hunters each year and experience no difficulties. A simple form supplied by us is all you will need. Are Quebec Labrador Caribou easy to hunt? Not always! There are in excess of a million caribou but they cover an area of over 400,000 square miles in small groups - that's less than two caribou per square mile if their distribution pattern was even - it is not. While caribou on occasion literally surround our camps the hunter must be prepared to make an effort and hunt. This is not a Canned Hunt. Ungava Adventures has the know-how, experience, and equipment to make your hunt a success. The bottom line remains you must hunt the window of opportunity we provide which is subject to weather, migratory patterns and a host of other factors. But then isn't that what hunting is all about?
