Friday, April 13 6:00-9:00 Evanston PANT OR JEAN FITTING - Hands-on JACKET FITTING - Hands-on Tired of trying to get a pair of pants that fit? Begin the class by trying on pant and/or jean slopers in different sizes to determine what size you are at the hip and waist. Sandra will then advise you as to what additional pattern alterations you will need for a flat seat, tummy, high and full hips, sway back, full thighs, etc. You will then cut out the pants or jeans from scrap fabric (like Vogue Fabrics’ $1.00 per yard Clearance Fabrics) or from Muslin. Fit will be refined. Alterations will be transferred to create a master pattern. You now have a pant or jean pattern which fits and can be made again and again. Students should bring a Today’s Fit pant pattern purchased by your snug hip measurement. Sandra will bring all sizes of Vogue Pattern #7940 (flat front pant) and Vogue Pattern #7608 (jean pattern). In order to obtain accurate measurements, avoid wearing clothing that is too tight or it will distort your figure. All supplies can be pre-purchased on-line with student discount and picked before the class. Lunch will be provided by Vogue Fabrics so students can continue to work. Class fee: $249 Instructor: Sandra Betzina Saturday, April 14 10:00-5:00 Evanston Disappointed in fit again? Commercial patterns don’t fit - until now that is. Sandra Betzina has designed a new sizing block for Vogue Patterns called “Today’s Fit” with alphabetical rather than numerical sizing ranging from 34-1/2 to 57 inch hip. Come see for yourself. Try on the pretests for jackets. Get tips on fit, including alterations for large and small busts, narrow, sloping, or square shoulders, and rounded or sway back. Alterations will be recorded on a fitting worksheet to take home and apply to your pattern. In order to obtain accurate measurements, avoid wearing clothing that is too tight or it will distort your figure. Lunch will be provided by Vogue Fabrics so students can continue to work. Class fee: $249 Instructor: Sandra Betzina Sunday, April 15 10:00-5:00 Evanston BONUS OFFER: $75 Gift Certificate Register for both classes and receive a $75 gift certificate from Vogue Fabrics when you come for your weekend of classes.
