Items For Care Packages

VFW Post 822 on Veterans Day,
November 11 from 6am to 12
noon. They will be collecting
items to send to the HHC 1-125
National Guard Unit that was
just deployed to Afghanistan.
They are looking for travel
size items such as individual
hand wipes, sun block, hard
candies, hand held games, deck
of cards, dice, Pringles in small
cans and band aids. Monetary
donation will also be accepted.

Ann Burton, MD Joins Dr. Bouvier’s Practice In Grand Mall
Ann Y Burton MD is an
internal medicine physician who
has recently joined the practice of Dr. Robert M. Bouvier,
PLC, in Grand Mall. Dr. Burton
specializes in adult medicine, occupational medicine, preventive
medicine, and home care.
She is a graduate of Kalamazoo College where she majored
in psychology and focused in premed studies. She completed her
training in primary care internal

Micro Brewery Expanding In Fenton
The local favorite, Fenton
Winery & Brewery (FWB), is
growing. In particular, the brewery operations are expanding,
FWB is staying at 1545 N. Leroy
Street, but adding an additional
3,600 square feet by taking over
an adjoining suite. They are
increasing production capacity,
adding a new tap room and a
banquet area.
It became apparent to owners, Matt and Ginny Sherrow,
that the current operations had

through the year. They anticipated producing double the amount
of bottled wine as last year, but
did not expect the exponential
growth in demand for their craft

The partnership involved
collecting vintage luggage to be
transformed into “Boom” cases
or audio touristers. The students were given the challenge
of utilizing older hard shell suit
cases and engineering them for
sound. This is a capstone project for the electrical engineering
senior design class. They were
placed in groups of two and give
the direction to design and build
a “boom” case. Upon comple-
tion of their “boom case”, they
will be presented to a panel of
judges before receiving their

residents. The Christmas Assistance program is intended to
help Genesee County residents
who would otherwise be unable
to celebrate Christmas.
Those in need of assistance with
food and toys will have the option of two locations to apply in

A “Fundamentals of Marketing a Business” workshop is
being offered by The Michigan
Small Business and Technology
Development Center (MI-SBTDC) at Kettering University in
Flint on Thursday, November 3,
9:00am to noon.
This workshop presents
practical applications of marketing concepts designed to
grow small businesses. It covers
basic marketing tools including
market analysis and research,
target marketing, assessing
competitors, and key marketing
implementation tools. Before
taking this marketing seminar,
it is highly recommended to
first complete “Fundamentals of
Starting a Business” and “Fundamentals of Writing a Business
Plan” seminars, also offered
through MI-SBTDC.
