Class Project Featuring: Time to Flourish Cards and Tags Monthly Series: February Designed by Gloria Stengel Graphic 45® Supplies: 2 sheets February Cut Apart (#4501031) 1 sheet February Flourish (#4501032) 1 pad Time to Flourish 6x6 pad (#4501053) 1 pack Time to Flourish Flowers (#4501057) 5 each Shabby Chic Metal Brads (#4500841) 2 tags Large Tag Album - Black (#450982) Additional Supplies: 2 sheets black cardstock 1 sheet ivory cardstock 2½ yards ivory seam binding 12” pink ivory seam binding Red ink Tools & Adhesive: Paper trimmer, scoring tool, embossing stylus & foam mat, hole punches, detail scissors, corner rounder, craft knife (optional) dry adhesive, tape runner, dimensional foam adhesive, quick dry liquid adhesive, spray mist bottle. Tips: Instructions: Card 1: “Will You Be Mine?” *All measurements are length x width. 1. Cut black cardstock 10” x 5”. Score at 5” on the long side to create a 5” x 5” top-fold card. (Designer’s Note: You can find 5” x 5” envelopes in stationary shops and various online stores.) **Use a sanding block to smooth any rough edges on cardstock punch-outs or chipboard elements. ***How to tie a loopy: Wrap a length of ribbon or twine several times around three fingers. Slide the ribbon off your fingers, pinching the ribbon in the middle. Tie a separate length of ribbon or twine around the pinched area of the looped ribbon or twine, making a small, tight knot. Trim all ends. 2. From the February Cut Apart paper, trim the Be Mine image. From the Time to Flourish Flowers set, remove three pink blossoms. Set aside. Set the other panel aside. 3. Trim the February Flourish paper to 4 7/8” x 4 7/8”. Cut in half diagonally. Trim February Cut Apart paper (reverse) to 4 7/8” x 4 7/8”. Cut in half diagonally. If desired, rub edges of all papers with red ink. (Make sure your February Flourish paper is oriented as shown to avoid your paper being upside down on the card.) 5. Trim the second triangle February Flourish and February Cut Apart (reverse) panels to 3 7/8” x 3 7/8”. 6. Trim each panel diagonally to form two more triangles. Save the extra bits to decorate the inside of the card. 4. Attach one triangle February Flourish panel to the upper right of the card front. Set the other panel aside. Attach one triangle February Cut Apart (reverse) 7. Cut black cardstock to 4” x 4”. Attach the February Cut Apart (reverse) triangle to the upper right corner of the black cardstock as shown. Attach the panel to the center of the card front. Allow the flowers to dry. Glue the three flowers together and allow glue to dry. Attach a Shabby Chic Metal Brad to the center of the flower. 8. Trim the Be Mine image to approximately 3 5/16” x 3 5/16”. Mat with black cardstock cut to approximately 3 7/16” x 3 7/16”. Using foam adhesive, attach the image to the center of the card front. 11. Glue the flower to the bow as shown. 12. Trim two strips of Cut Apart (reverse) paper to 1/4” x 12”. Lightly roll the strips to form “springs.” 9. Tie a loopy bow from ivory seam binding. Attach the bow to the lower left corner of the image. 13. Glue the two rolled paper springs behind the ribbon as shown. 14. Trim ivory cardstock to 4 7/8” x 4 7/8” and add to the inside of the card to allow for journaling or stamping a sentiment. Trim the left over 10. Lightly ink three pink flowers with red ink. Ink the edges with red ink, if desired. 3. Trim the pink striped paper from the Time Flourish 6x6 Patterns and Solids Pad to 4 7/8” x 4 7/8”. If desired, rub edges of all papers with red ink. Attach to the front of the card. 4. Trim the February Flourish paper to 5 3/8” x 1 7/8”. Mat with black cardstock cut to 4 1/2” x 2”. Attach the panel to the left side of the card. *Card 1 detail* Card 2: “For You” 1. Cut black cardstock 10” x 5”. Score at 5” on the long side to create a 5” x 5” top-fold card. (Designer’s Note: You can find 5” x 5” envelopes in stationary shops and various online stores.) 2. From the February Cut Apart paper, trim the For You image, the strip of postage images, and the Roses are Red image strip. From the Time to Flourish Flowers set, remove five (5) red blossoms. Set aside. 5. Trim the postage images to approximately 1 5/16” x 4 7/8”. Mat with black cardstock trimmed to 1 7/16” x 4 7/8”. Attach the images to the bottom of the card as shown, overlapping the February Flourish panel. 6. Trim another panel of February Flourish paper to 3 1/4” x 3 1/4”. Mat with black cardstock cut to 3 3/8” x 3 3/8”. Attach to the card front, approximately 1/2” from the right edge and 1/2” from the top. 7. Trim the For You image and mat with black cardstock. Trim the Roses are Red image strip into two pieces and attach with foam adhesive to the lower right side of the For You image. 9. Lightly ink five red flowers with red ink. Mist the backs of the flowers with water and shape with an embossing stylus as shown. Allow the flowers to dry. Glue all five flowers together and allow glue to dry. 10. Attach a Shabby Chic Metal Brad to the center of the flower. Glue the flower to the upper right corner of the card. 11. Using the template provided, cut three leaves from green paper from the Time to Flourish 6x6 Patterns and Solids Pad. Shape the leaves, and use foam adhesive to attach the leaves as shown. 12. Trim ivory cardstock to 4 7/8” x 4 7/8” and add to the inside of the card to allow for journaling or stamping a sentiment. Trim pink striped paper from the Time to Flourish 6x6 Patterns and Solids Pad to 1 1/8” x 4 7/8” and place it at the bottom of the ivory panel. *Card 2 detail* Tag 1: “Roses are Red” 1. Score the tag at 2 1/2” from the bottom. 2. Cut the February Flourish paper to 3 1/2” x 3 5/8”. If desired, rub edges of all papers with red ink. Attach the paper to the top of the tag as shown. Fold the bottom up at the score line to create a pocket. 5. From the Time to Flourish Flowers set, remove four (4) red blossoms. Set aside. 3. Trim the February Cut Apart (reverse) paper to 2 3/4” x 3 5/8”. Round the top corners and attach to the pocket. Trace the top portion of the tag onto the February Cut Apart (reverse) paper and trim out, cutting slightly inside the traced line. Use a hole punch to cut out a hole for the grommet. Attach the paper to the top of the tag, leaving a space between the February Flourish paper and the piece of February Cut Apart paper. The tag has a slight black mat, all the way around. 6. Trim the top from the calendar image, to approximately 2 1/8” x 3 3/8”. Round all four corners. Mat with black cardstock. Round the corners of the cardstock. Attach the image to the pocket with foam adhesive. 4. From the February Cut Apart paper, trim the postcard image, the calendar image, the calendar tag, the Roses are Red image, and the Hugs image. 8. Trim the post card image in half and trim to approximately 3 3/8” x 2 5/8”. Mat with black cardstock cut to 3 1/2” x 2 3/4”. Punch a hole into one corner of each tag and tie with pink and ivory seam binding. Trim out the calendar tag, punch the hole and tie with pink seam binding. Trim out the Hugs and Kisses image. 7. Layer the blooms to create two flowers, consisting of two blooms each. Attach the smaller flower to the right side of the pocket. Add a center punched from the Time to Flourish Flowers set. Add a Shabby Chic Metal Brad to the larger flower, and attach the flower to the bottom left edge of the pocket. www.g45papers.com | info@g45papers.com pg 6 of 8 Class Project Featuring: Time to Flourish Cards and Tags Monthly Series: February 10. Trim the Roses are Red image and attach to the top of the tag with foam adhesive. Tie ivory seam binding through the large grommet. Solids Pad to 1 3/4” x 3 3/4”. Round the bottom two corners. Attach to the bottom of the tag, allowing a 1/8” space between the two prints. 9. Place all the tags into the pocket. 2. From the February Cut Apart paper, trim the February image, the Greetings image, one postage image, and the Valentine image. From the Time to Flourish Flowers set, remove four (4) red blossoms and seven (7) pink blossoms. 3. Trim February Flourish paper to 3 3/8” x 2 7/8” and mat with black cardstock cut to 3 1/2” x 3” Attach to the center of the tag at an angle. Trim pink text paper from Time to Flourish 6x6 Patterns and Solids Pad to 3 3/8” x 2 7/8” and mat with black cardstock cut to 3 1/2” x 3”. Attach panel to the top center of the tag at an angle, overlapping the previous panel. *Tag 1 detail* Tag 2: “Valentine” 1. Cut the February Cut Apart (reverse) paper to 6” x 3 5/8”. Round the top two corners. If desired, rub all papers with red ink. Attach the paper to the top of the tag as shown. Trim red check paper from Time to Flourish 6x6 Patterns and 4. Trim the Greetings image and mat with black cardstock. Attach to the center of the card with foam adhesive, overlapping the other panels. Trim the Valentine image and mat with black cardstock. Attach to the upper left edge of the tag with foam adhesive. Tuck the postage image under the left edge of the Greetings image. tag. Using the template provided, cut two leaves from green paper from the Time to Flourish 6x6 Patterns and Solids Pad. Shape the leaves and attach to the large flower with foam adhesive. 8. Tie a loopy bow from ivory seam binding and attach to the large grommet on the top of the tag. *Tag 2 detail* 6. Layer the blooms to create two stacked flowers. Shape the other five (5) small flowers and add centers punched from the Time to Flourish Flowers set. Add a Shabby Chic Metal Brads to the two larger flowers. 7. Attach three flowers in the upper right corner of the tag. Attach three small flowers to the lower right edge of the Greetings image.
