Director – Junior Development Director - Games Director - Facilities Director - Social Director – Finance President’s Report Election of Directors New Business Scott Strapp to present Sponsorship Opportunity Adjournment 2015 Administration - Director’s Report Nick Manz 2015 Review • Worked with executive members and Stephanie Venimore to facilitate meetings in order to create the Rugby Club’s 2015 Objective Goals • Outline objectives, targets, performance measures and action items with executive members • Utilize the club objectives as the frame work for the executive to work together towards the common goals of the club • Set 5 year goals to coincide with the Revitalization of Sherwood Park 2015 Review 2015 Review • New Online Registration with Rugby Canada through Sport Ngin 2015 Registered Players 2015 Review • Club Sponsorship Goal for 2015 was $15,000 • Senior Men Club Sponsorship $6,500 • Junior Club Sponsorship $5,750 • Women Club Sponsorship $900 ($1,500) • TOTAL SPONSORSHIP $$15,150 – Exceeded 2015 Target Moving Forward 2016 • Continue to strive to meet targets and work together to meet Club Overall Goals to coincide with the Revitalization of Sherwood Park • Facilitate Fundraising/Sponsorship Committee to increase sponsorship in 2016 by 35% Local Club Rugby Funding Opportunities • Ontario Trillium Fund • Burlington Community Foundation • Seed Grants • Larger Grants • Ontario Sport and Recreation Communities Fund (OSRCF) • Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture & Sport Senior Men 2015 Tim Morton 2015 Review • 81 Registered Members (58% Growth YoY) • 94 percent dues collected – continuing to strive for 100% collection • $6500 collected from Sponsorship (Baulmer,Wildwood,Duke,Toyota/Nissan) • 1st XV finished 3rd NRU A w/8-2 record 2015 Review • 2nd XV finished 2nd in NRU B w/7-2 record • 3rd XV competed in friendly matches on home dates when 1 and 2 XV were also home. • Participated and won in Monty Heald Tournament of Champions • Participated and won Beaver Bowl • Partcipated and came in 3rd Waterloo County Oktoberfest Moving forward 2016 • Retain and Grow membership by 15% • Enter a 3rd team in a regular league (NRU C or TRU C) • Sell off old kit and purchase new 3rds team kit • Implement Senior Member volunteer program • Expand Monty Heald Tournament to 16 teams Senior Women 2015 Kaitlyn Sharpe 2015 Review • 29 Registered Members, up 81% from 2014 • 97% dues collected, arrangements made for remainder • Finished 3rd – 7-3 record • 3 Pre-Season Games, Plus exhibit game at the Monty Heald Tournament of Champions • 1 Season Friendly • 1 Post Season Game Moving forward 2016 • Retain and Grow membership • Grow dedicated Senior Women's sponsorship program • Set up Pre/Post Season Touring Date(s) • Acquire further Coaching assistance Junior 2015 Barry Goldberg Games 2015 Morton said “Keep it short and sweet.” So I said “That’s what she said!” The 2015 season .... a bit more • Hosted tournament and won both divisions • two women’s friendlies • Women’s league for 2015 • Return of the u18 team • Hosted Kent’s Mystery Tour - they loved us • Hosted Trinidad u20’s, Buccs, PA Mitfits, Grimsby ... • Muddy York Tournament gold medal • third at Waterloo Oktoberfest • no defaults 20 Perspective • Men did good - low numbers of red card reports, • good PR at ORU and RC levels • quick thing from the NRU AGM • • • • Women did good Thirds Lots of those touring sides / friendly games played by Thirds Register by April 15th, 2016 21 On to 2016 • Plans to clean up our park, our home • Senior Exec need to drive registrations earlier • Commit to a thirds team by a due date set by the NRU • • • • • Suggest making a motion that ORU insurance run out Jan 1 keep on the NRU Exec for Women’s NRU B League Structure April tours make July Wins Burlington Senior 7’s - think 2020 and beyond referees - need u18’s-u35’s to step up • also, keep shutting up • I’d like to stay on. Grow overall Club Membership 2. Contribute; build & sustain a rugby facility that fits all the needs of the entire club membership 3. To create an overall awareness, knowledge and appreciation of rugby activities and the sport of rugby internally within the Centaurs Rugby Club & across the City of Burlington 2015 Overall Club Objectives 4. To have a focus on player development in the sport of rugby – for all player divisions resulting in both Provincial & National level players 5. To be a financially stable non-profit organization that runs effectively & financially efficiently 1. Grow Overall Club Membership 2.
