Activities
For more than 20 years AGRIMER has been
the first French group able to manage the full
process of marine cosmetics, from fresh algae
to the finished product.
Our marine expertise makes us a privileged
partner in the development of your marine
cosmetic products, providing you with a full
service in formulation, regulation or marketing
aspects.
New products
Active Ingredients: For five years, AGRIMER,
associated with the “Pôle Mer Bretagne“,
a maritime competitiveness network of
researchers, has launched the research
program AQUACTIF, aiming to discover new
species of seaweeds and new performing active
ingredients. This very successful program
allows us to present, as a first step, two
active ingredients issued from the red algae
Calliblepharis jubata, and showing objective
dermo-cosmetic activity on collagen synthesis,
anti-inflammatory response and cell protection.
3 new products:
Enzymatic Peeling wax: This wax has a
comfortable, efficient and multi-functional
texture for immediate beauty results on the skin
complexion.
Oily Peel-offs: These specific gels, shaken with
water, create uniform and comfortable peel-off
masks for nourishing, soothing or anti-ageing
skin cares.
Mousse masks: 3 items based on a powder
having the ability to absorb 40 times its volume
in water or lotion. With only 4 g of powder, you
prepare a fresh and airy Mousse with soothing,
anti-ageing or brightening properties.

focuses the efforts of its scientists on truly

maximal differentiation with no impact on the
outside vegetal world. Diana Plant Sciences
is able to supply its customers with tailormade plant cells, combining functional potent
actives from the most rare plants and unique
composition free of undesirable compounds
(pigments, odor, toxic molecules…) thanks to:
• A unique know-how in cell line selection to single
out the best producers of the targeted actives.
This capability is supported by a proprietary
bioinformatics infrastructure to enable high
throughput screening of myriads of cell lines.
• A rare understanding of metabolic pathways
and how to unlock them to reach concentrations
of actives that far exceed the plant performance
in wild settings without compromising its natural
origin. Thanks to that unique know-how and based
on DIANA praised industrial quality standards,
Diana Plant Sciences is turning the promises
of plant cell culture technology into a commercial
reality with improved productivity, selectivity and
stability of its production processes.
environmental
From the more than 400,000 known plant
species, mankind has ever only exploited
a small percentage due to the scarce
availability of many in nature. Meanwhile, the
overexploitation of many has brought increasing
attention to the potentially detrimental impact
of human consumption on natural equilibria. By
securing commercial-scale production of high
value added plant actives in a closely controlled
environment, plant cell culture has the potential
to overcome the major issues encountered in
traditional agriculture by providing: • Natural
production without any genetic manipulation.
• Absence of pollutants in culture. • Minimized
waste from downstream processing • Drastic
reduction in consumption of natural resources.
• Biodiversity preservation with the ability to
create biomass without any harvesting.
Ingredient list
Diana Plant Sciences can develop tailor-made
highly differentiating actives from unique and
rare plants to add value to your formulations on
functionalities such as: • Anti-aging • Whitening
• Skin conditioning • Hair conditioning.

In Vitro sunscreen testing.
Activities
HelioScreen, founded in 1999 by Dominique
Lutz, is the specialist of the In Vitro sunscreen
testing. Clearly involved in this field, we will be
your best partner for evaluation of sun protection
products. Our laboratory ISO 9001 certified offers
a complete range of tests following updated
standards and official methods, specific methods
helping you in your formulation screening and
quality control (PAO). HelioScreen proposes
also all the services and the consumables
allowing the In Vitro UV testing with patented
substrate HD6, Standard S2 product, HDTHTERMASTER and HD-SPREADMASTER, UV
source calibration…Finally, at the heart of the
In Vitro UV evaluation, we also support your
development of In Vitro UV testing within your
laboratories by training and coaching.
New products
As the forerunner in the In Vitro sunscreen
testing, our laboratory developed two new
devices dedicated to the sun protection
evaluation: the HD-SPREADMASTER and the
HD-THERMASTER. First, unless performed in
the best conditions, it has been demonstrated
quite a variability in results may occur when
performing In Vitro measurement. The HDSPREADMASTER, as a total automatic and
controlled spreading robot, allows a total control
34
of spreading and ensures the reproducibility
in a very low range of variability whatever the
product. Second, control the temperature at the
surface has been demonstrated as a compulsory
condition to ensure the accuracy of In Vitro
testing. This is not possible if only controlling
ambient temperature. The HD-THERMASTER
has been specifically designed to fix and ensure
temperature all during the process.
environmental
Involved in skin protection, HelioScreen
is obviously also engaged in sustainable
development and as a corporate social
responsibility, we launched an ambitious
program: «Well Being at HelioScreen».
By means of recycling, energy saving, water
reusing, social actions, transport… We want to
grow both perennial and sustainable. This is our
vision and we will do our best as always.

Develop the knowledge of Monoi de Tahiti and inspire new beauty and well-being rituals.
Activities
Monoï de Tahiti is the first cosmetic product
to have obtained an Appellation of Origin. Since
April 1992, Monoï de Tahiti ingredients and
production process have been strictly defined
by decree: “Monoï de Tahiti is the product
obtained by macerating Tiare blossoms in
refined coconut oil. This oil is to be extracted
from mature coconuts gathered from Cocos
Nucifera trees growing in the coral soil in the
geographic area of French Polynesia exclusively.
Only «Tiare» flower buds from the Gardenia
Tahitensis species and of Polynesian origin are
acceptable. Founded in 1992 by the members
of the “Groupement Interprofessionnel du
Monoï de Tahiti”, the Monoï Institute
brings together the best specialists in the
natural resources of Tahiti and Her Islands. It
is also a portfolio of original brands created by
the actors of the sector. Their presence on the
SpaceUBI France will be the opportunity for the
professionals of the industry to exchange and
to explore new ideas whom we are in search of
a raw material, of an original Monoi oil or of a
brand to be distributed.

environmental
From ancient Tahitian rituals to the little cult
bottle on the trendy beaches of the world,
Monoï de Tahiti, like Tahitian Tattoos,
expresses all the strength and modernity
of a mythical culture. Long before Western
countries came to rediscover the importance of
a holistic approach to body and soul, Tahitians
produced a natural sense of well-being, grace
and beauty. Today, Monoï de Tahiti has
become the ambassador of this culture. It acts
as an inspiration for the most prominent brands
in the cosmetic industry - they carry the Spirit of
Monoi and spread a unique “art de vivre”.

• Purification by chromatography at industrial
scale.
The company operates 12 R&D and manufacturing
sites worldwide and has 1 200 employees and
annual revenues of approx. EUR 300 million.
environmental
Sustainability arises from the consideration
of a process as a whole, from the actual
manufacturing steps all the way to the treatment
of waste and the optimization of energetic
efficiency (our Leverkusen site is certified ISO
14001, and ISO 50001 is under preparation).
NOVASEP actively promotes sustainability
by optimizing the processes we develop. For
instance, the solvent used for chromatography
purification can be recycled up to 99.97%; using
highly energetic intermediates often minimizes
the reaction time, the energy required, and
the waste. When possible, processes are also
optimized to limit changing the solvent between
steps, and concentrations through membrane
technologies save the energy required for
distillation. Sustainability results from a case
by case study to find the most appropriate
and optimized manufacturing route for a given
molecule.

New products
PolymerExpert introduced a new and
improved family of patented thermo sensitive
polymers: ExpertGel. These systems are able
to reversibly change their physical state upon
a change in temperature. Diluted in water,
they behave as a liquid at room temperature
and gelify when the temperature decreases.
ExpertGel products are capable of acting as
SPF booster in sun care formulations due to
their unique gel forming abilities. One problem
with ordinary sunscreens is that the UB filters
can penetrate into the skin, leading to reduce
efficiency and adverse reactions. ExpertGel
forms a thin barrier gel on the surface of the
skin, preventing penetration of the UV filters
into the skin, increasing sun blocking efficiency
and reducing toxicity.

Quantitative and qualitative studies on cosmetic and toiletries products all over the world.
Activities
We have been undertaking qualitative and
quantitative studies (consumer tests, tests of
packaging, tests of concept, Focus Groups,
phoning or internet surveys), for over 50% of the
world’s leading manufacturers of cosmetic and
toiletries for the past 15 years.
We run our studies in France and in Singapore
with our own panels but also all over the world
with our partners (Europe, USA, China, India,
Japan, South America…).
The tests and surveys we conduct have for main
purposes to objectify consumers’ evaluation of
products, to understand the consumers and
their expectations and to anticipate markets’
tendencies.
To achieve these results, we can rely on strong
arguments: a perfect knowledge of the market,
comprehensive databases, an adaptable
organization, a rigorous quality process, a
proven reactivity and a great experience in the
field of analysis.
