Description AND ÉZARO WATERALL ROUTE CIR PINDO MOUNTAIN WATERFALL OF ÉZARO Interpretation Institute (CIR) about the Pindo Mountain and the Ézaro Waterfall This is an ideal route to know the pleasures of the Ézaro waterfall. The Xallas River also known as Ézaro River is the only one river in Spain that flows into the sea as a waterfall. You can enjoy its hypnotism every days , 365 days per year, during 24 hours. Moreover, in summer (from 21 June to 21 September), the waterfall is illuminated, every Saturdays and days before a holy day, from 22:30 to 23:30 hours. Continuing the markers, you´ll arrive in “Pedrullo”, where you can see wall remains that surrounded the primitive structure. It´s here where Route nº1 and nº2 come together. The route starts in a square near the church in O Pindo (3,5km from Ézaro, in direction to Muros). This way is the most complex route because it is narrower and harder than the others. Near the starting point, you´ll find some water mills that are abandoned, and you´ll also find a cave where people have been taken refuge while the Civil War. This route starts in a small village, O Fieiro, located after the Santa Uxía reservoir, shortly after the lookout point of Ézaro (4,5km from Ézaro, going up to the lookout point). After cover a small stretch, you´ll arrive in “Chan de Lourenzo”, a place where you´ll fin the “Giant´s Mine” and also the remains of a wolfram exploitation. From this point, you´ll see the top of the mountain known as “A Moa”. Key points of this route: the “Pedrullo” where is located the “Saint George Castle”, the “Chan de Lourenzo” where is the “Giant´s Mine” and also the remains of an ancient wolfram exploitation. This itinerary is the most comfortable and achievable to gain access to the top of the Pindo Mountain. You´ll ascend along a forest track until getting into the stone trails. Behind you, is the “Peñafiel Castle” in whose top finds the “Bed of Fertility”. There is a detour that goes to the “Xoana´s Cave”, which crosses the mountain from one side to the other.
