The VAC will develop a list of all birds that are held on licence to hand out at bird sales. Sign up for: Price: □ Single $ 5.00 See News & Events re: Aviary Visits Due to the long discussion on the aviary visit we only had two pieces for discussion, the first was a photo of a Lutino Red-vented Blue Bonnet that was photographed in Australia a number of years ago that got members talking on mutations in the wild. This then led to Tod Osborne giving a brief overview on the Blue galah, Tod agreed that with a bit of help to put together a presentation he would do a talk at our Aviary visit in June. This will be a world first presentation on the Blue Galah Mutation. □ ASA Membership Number: Name: _________________________________________ Badge draw: Address: ________________________________ Warren Yardy Raffle: Glenys Rae _________________________________________ March _________________________________________ The usual suspects, aviary visit to/from and annual sale, took up the start of the meeting. All appears to be coming together on all fronts. A discussion was held regarding promoting aviculture through schools by way of setting up a small aviary in the school grounds. After discussion it was agreed to talk with other clubs about their experiences and look into it in more detail. Rick Irwin [Ballarat branch] provided a presentation on his experiences in keeping Amazons. In addition to his own experience he provided an overview of species/sub-species available in Australia as well as a power point display of photo’s from around the world. Of most interest was Rick’s observations on the distinct change in disposition these birds [mainly cocks] have in and out of the breeding season. Badge draw: Warren Yardy Raffle: _______________________ Warren Yardy Don’t forget Victorian licence holders need to complete their returns before April 14.
