Lake Norman Marina has been owned and operated by the Kale
Family since its conception in 1973. Dip and Elsie Kale started the business
and throughout the 1970’s they ran the operation while raising their three
young children.
In the beginning, most of their sales were to neighbors around the lake. They
took great care in getting to know everyone and giving them special personal
service. Dip’s personality for being outgoing and an extremely honest business
owner, really worked well for him in this small community of boaters.

After a few years, Lake Norman Marina was well known as the place to
go, for all your boating needs. Their reputation for outstanding service was
growing as the business grew throughout the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s.
And now, Lake Norman Marina has become recognized as one of the
finest marine dealerships in the country. This is due to their reputation for
outstanding service, quality boats at fair prices, and an excellent facility to
store your boat.
Dip and Elsie’s son Mark now manages the marina with the same vision and
values initiated by his parents.
Dip and Mark have been able to attract some of boating’s top professionals
to Lake Norman. The employees love what they do and take great pride in
letting you see how great a company Lake Norman Marina really is.

“I began a journey in January 1982 as the first salesman to be hired by Lake Norman Marina. My role has changed somewhat from those
early days, but the journey continues. The countless friends and families I have met over these years have made this an extraordinarily
rewarding experience. Often someone will come in and say “you sold my dad a boat when I was a kid. We enjoyed that boat
for years.” Now they want one to enjoy with their kids. Helping start a lifetime of memories is the greatest reward of this job.
Many things have changed, but one thing that has not changed is our total commitment to the Lake Norman Marina customer.”

Peter moved to Lake Norman in 2006 along with his wife and two boys. They love it here! After being self-employed for 22 years on
Cape Cod, he was ready for a change. Shortly after arriving in North Carolina, Peter was hired by Lake Norman Marina as a sales
associate. “Boating creates memories! Whether you’re pulling someone tubing or just hanging out with family and friends, a day of
boating will create memories. I think being a part of that is awesome! Here at the marina, the energy, the enthusiasm and the top of
the line brands we sell, make everyday very exciting. In my spare time, I enjoy being out on the lake with family and friends.”
JUSTIN RAMBO
Justin has been in the marine industry for nine years. From service technician to fiberglass repair
and boat detailing, “I love boats, plain and simple.” Since joining the Lake Norman Marina sales staff in
2006, he feels that “seeing my customers smiling and laughing on the day they get their new boat, it’s
an incredible feeling to know that I helped create that.”
Delivery Captain Mario Caruso Joined Lake Norman Marina in 2007
“Having enjoyed boating and water sports for most of my life, working for Lake Norman Marina as Delivery Captain and passing on
that excitement seemed a natural fit! Both my parents and grandparents are avid outdoorsmen and water sports enthusiasts and have
instilled in me the experience needed to accomplish the position of delivery captain. I recently relocated to the Lake Norman region
from northeast Ohio and have never looked back. Moving to this area has enabled me to enjoy an extended boating season and the
pleasure of working with the finest marina staff on this lake. With the support of this staff and my countless days on the water I am sure
that there is no question that cannot be answered. This all said, making a boat purchase can be both exciting and nerve-racking, but as
delivery captain I try to make the education and on-water instruction of a new boater as painless and enjoyable as possible.”
