Monthly State of the Empire from the
Reigning Monarchs
Dear Friends, Family & Court Members:
Geez, We can’t believe that it is almost the end of October and the end of
the second month of the Reign! What a month we have had. We started
out on Sunday October 2nd for Investitures XXI at the Cabaret. It was a
wonderful fun filled night that none of us will forget! Thanks for the
shots Dennis… The Empress got a new nickname because of that. Let us
take a moment to thank Penny and the staff of Cabaret for the wonderful
space and all the hospitality. We can’t forget all the great food supplied
by our members – it really made the night. A special thank you goes out
to Empress 12 Ginger Snap and Emperor 17 Mike Burke for all the work
on the script and everything behind the scenes. You people made us look
great. And speaking of great, we can’t forget to give a big round of applause to our emcees for the evening: Empress 12 Ginger Snapp, Empress 16 Brooklyn
Steele-Tate, and Empress 21 ½ Helena
Handbasket. You all did a great job and
made the evening go flawlessly! Of course,
the biggest thanks goes out to all the members of this great organization that were in
attendance. You made this event a wonderful
success!
The weekend of October 7th found us at
Shooters on Friday night with Miss Magical
Makeover Lady Peaches hosting her first
show with co-host H.M.I.H. Dixie Crystals.
Thanks gals, it was a great show! Toronto’s
Coronations was on the 8th with our Court
being represented by Empress 20 Shanice
McCoy-Patton and Emperor 20 Dennis Declare. We have heard that you two had a
great time and did us proud! Friday the 14th
was the scene of a great show at Shooters hosted by the One-And-Only
Empress 14 Roberta Bigg and Miss Kitty Pride - Another wonderful
show with the proceeds going to GLSEN. Roberta we are proud of you –
you kept your dress on all night!!! On the 15 th Miss Kitty Pride hosted at
the C&D Café in Northside. If you haven’t been to one of our events at
C&D come check it out. It is a great venue with the most wonderful
people. Thanks to Lou and Velveeta for having us. Kitty, are you tired
yet? Empress 13 Miss Truly Scrumptious hosted our monthly Cocktails
with the Court show at Shooters on the 20th with Lady Peaches Black
and last week ended with Empress 12 Ginger Snapp hosting The “Mr.
QCL Show” at Shooters on the 21st with Mr. QCL 2011 “Jon Jon”.
Thanks Ginger and Jon Jon for a really great time. October 23rd found us
once again at Shooters for our first “Drag Mart” put together by the non
stoppable Miss Roberta Bigg. It was a great success and many thanks to
Roberta and everyone that donated items and time. We would like to take
a moment apologize to the Sunday Euchre players that were displaced by
our event with such short notice. This will not happen again.
On Friday October 28th we will be at ‘Old Street Saloon” in Monroe
for the annual “Halloween Bash” hosted by Emperor 8 Dale Pleiman and
Empress 9 Miss Booshee Rayburn. Dale always goes way out for Halloween and you are sure to have the time of your life. Believe us, it is
worth the drive! We can’t wait to see the entire Old Street gang including Freeda
Bang Kok, Petty Cash, & Dixie Nor Mous! Thanks to you three for being out so
much this month. We love you! We end the month of October on Sunday October
30th at the Cabaret for “Gay Bingo” hosted by Queen Mother Brooklyn Steele-Tate.
Doors open at 7 with the games starting at 8:00. 8 games for @10.00 and some
great prizes!

Hi Fellow Courtiers,
"As of January 2011, requests have been made to support
the Trevor Project, which helps gay youth with today's pressure of coming out. The money raised helps to finance the
counseling of these youths and helps to run the suicide hotline available to troubled teens.
On behalf of Bryan Cromwell and me, Robert Flores, we
would like to encourage all courts to help fund this worthwhile cause. We ask that you help us match or beat our
goal of $100,000 by January 2012. This project is highly endorsed by Our Queen Mother of the Americas, Nicole the
Great and also the ICC Council.
All monies raised can be forwarded to Emperor Bryan
Cromwell, bryan@cobaltlv.com along with a running total
from each court so we can keep track of our goal. Your participation is greatly appreciated and will help support our
youth.
Sincerely,
Emperor XXIX

Art by “MYRIX”
“Archetypal Faces”
Born in Kentucky and now living in Cincinnati, Ohio, Myrix is a self-taught artist, working in pencil and charcoal. His talent for creating images of hard-working men has not gone unnoticed. Galleries have shown his
distinctly masculine images to audiences in locations from San Francisco to Provincetown, from Knoxville to
Rapid City, South Dakota.
His latest passion, portrait drawing, is a series of portraits, featuring different looks of men. He is looking to
correspond with photographers and models for source material, because each portrait begins as a real person
and all are one of a kind original drawings.

Do you like being part of the ISQCCBE but not a member of the BOD
or College of Monarchs? Would you like to travel and meet people
across the continent of North America? Would you like to have a voice
in who becomes our organization's next Queen Mother of the Americas? If you answered "yes" then you are a great candidate for Parliament.
Parliament is a part of the systemic changes ushered in when Nicole
the Great ascended the throne as was the wish of our beloved founder, Empress 1 Jose, The Widow Norton. Nicole's vision is a new way
of looking at the ICS; with representation from each individual Court
making decisions. I firmly believe that this body will have a huge role to
play in this era of change. Although we are sovereign, we do have
some loyalty to our parent organization and with that loyalty comes
representation at the national level. We have a great need for someone in this position. Cincinnati's voice must be a part of this era of
change. We are trying to make our organization more visible, more
profitable for our charities, and more inclusive of every facet of society.
As we break down the barriers of ignorance we can become more effective in our fundraising efforts and our local charities will benefit. Isn't
that why we are here to begin with?
I have served as the Honorable Member of Parliament since 2008 and
have enjoyed the position and its responsibilities. In this position, there
must be a dedication the cause and to the work that is to come. I urge
anyone interested to contact me for further details at empress13truly@isqccbe.org
Sincerely,
HMIM Truly Scrumptious St. James, Empress XIII,
President of the Board of Directors
The Sparkling White Jeweled Showgirl Empress of Sophistication, Service and Style Honorable Member of Parliament 2008-2010
Thank You and Update from GLSEN!!
Roberta,
I know you will be thrilled to know about three current opportunities we have created for distribution of Safe Space Kits.
1. Tomorrow at the Youth Summit in addition to the Youth Track we have created
a Teacher Track to entice Educators to attend and learn. Any Educator who attends has the opportunity to attend the Safe Space Training and take a Kit back to
their school.
2. Also at the Youth Summit we are asking Youth to write about school staff
members who have made their school feel safer for them. We will follow up and
offer a Kit to those identified educators.
3. We have engaged in a collaborative effort to present an Administrator Summit
in early November. This is a half-day training for school administrators or their
designee. We have advertised that each participant will receive a Safe Space Kit
for their school.
As you can see, we are creating opportunities for Safe Space Kits to be in area
schools in the hands of staff who have been exposed to GLSEN training and education. We consider this optimal use of the Kits and we have more such opportunities in the pipeline. This is all happening thanks to you and your enthusiastic fundraising....many thanks from all of us at GLSEN Greater Cincinnati.
Kathy
