Lambic is a very distinctive type of beer brewed in the Pajottenland region of Belgium and in Brussels itself. It is consumed after refermentation which results in derived beers such as Geuze or Kriek. Compared to traditional lagers this lambic beer makes use of spontaneous fermentation by exposing it to wild yeasts and bacteria said to be native to the Senne valley in which Brussels lies. This specific process will give the beer its distinctive flavour.
