The Demise of the Single Bullet Theory Part 2b
What is this document about:This is part of an extensive study on the Single Bullet Theory that I hope to present at the DPUK Seminar in 2013.
This part of the study, which can stand alone and which is why I felt it worthy of early release, relates to part 2a.
Part 2a focus’ on the injuries that Governor John Connally sustained. In studying that, with incredible support
from fellow researcher Gary Murr who gave me access to his research papers, I was persuaded to study whether
John Connally sustained his injuries at Z 230/246 or post Z 312.
For over 40 years Gary Murr has been of the opinion that John Connally was injured post Z 312. He asked
numerous times to have a look into this theory. I agreed to Gary’s request and informed him that I would be
approaching it already leaning towards Z 230/46 as the period. He accepted that and so I started looking into his.
What stunned me and what initially changed my mind was the incredible movement that John Connally makes
between Z 317 - Z 337. In that 20 frame sequence, just over 1 second John Connally moves from a seated
position to one where he is lying on the floor below Nellie Connally. It has been some days since I discovered
this and have made this public on a series of research forums, and yet I can find no explanation to this other
than John is reacting to a shot.
The consequence of this discovery is that I am now using the model in Josiah Thompson book “Six Seconds in
Dallas” to examine just how fast John Connally is actually moving. The results will be comprised in Part 2c “The
Mathematical explanations of the movements of John Connally post Z 312.”
The debate between Z230/246 and Post Z312
This study is critical of what has been for close to 50 years an established understanding of the assassination of
President Kennedy. True, researchers like Vincent Bugliosi and Dale Myers consider John Connally sustained
his injuries much earlier, but the majority look more to the Z 230/46 window as the more acceptable solution.
There are reasons for that and they are examined inside this document. Therefore it was no great surprise that
when this document was initially made public that it was approached with some hostility and indeed incredulity.
When I first made the document public I did not realise this truth and indeed the need for explanation for the post
Z 312 window in preference to Z 230/246. My misunderstanding was this:John Connally has always said that he heard a noise knew it was a bullet and turned on his right hand side to
see if he could see the president. Having turned as much as he could and not seeing the president he decides to
turn in the other direction. During his turn back, initially I was of the opinion that Nellie tried to pull John Connally
out of danger. He frees himself from her and by Z 312 is nearly facing forward and continues to now turn to his
left when at Z 317 he is struck by a bullet.
Therefore my revelation and the problem with the Z 230/246 window is that it is not at the end of the Connally
cycle to see President Kennedy, it is at the very beginning. Researchers consider that the turn at Z 160 is part of
the Connally turn. It is not. The real Connally turn begins at Z 230 and is interrupted at Z 317. The head shot at
Z 313 has completely distorted the Connally turn.
In this revision of the document I begin with John Connally’s recollection of what happened. From the series of
points that he makes I reduce that to a set of criteria that are his essential recollection.
If DPUK members wish to converse with me on this document, I will be happy to engage in conversations.

John Connally’s
Account of the Assassination
Governor CONNALLY. ........We had-we had gone, I guess, 150 feet, maybe 200 feet, I don’t recall
how far it was, heading down to get on the freeway, the Stemmons Freeway, to go out to the hall
where we were going to have lunch and, as I say, the crowds had begun to thin, and we could - I was
anticipating that we were going to be at the hall in approximately 5 minutes from the time we turned
on Elm Street. We had just made the turn, well, when I heard what I thought was a shot. I heard this
noise which I immediately took to be a rifle shot. I instinctively turned to my right because the sound
appeared to come from over my right shoulder, so I turned to look back over my right shoulder, and I
saw nothing unusual except, just people in the crowd, but I did not catch the President in the corner
of my eye, and I was interested, because once I heard the shot in my own mind I identified it as a
rifle shot, and I immediately - the only thought that crossed my mind was that this is an assassination
attempt. So I looked, failing to see him. I was turning to look back over my left shoulder into the back
seat, but I never got that far in my turn. I got about in the position I am in now facing you, looking a
little bit to the left of center, and then I felt like someone had hit me in the back.
Mr. SPECTER. What is the best estimate that you have as to the time span between the sound of
the first shot and the feeling of someone hitting you in the back which you just described?
Governor CONNALLY. A very, very brief span of time. Again my trend of thought just happened to
be, I suppose along this line, I immediately thought that this - that I had been shot. I knew it when
I just looked down and I was covered with blood, and the thought immediately passed through my
mind that there were either two or three people involved or more in this or someone was shooting
with an automatic rifle. These were just thoughts that went through my mind because of the rapidity
of these two, of the first shot plus the blow that I took, and I knew I had been hit, and I immediately
assumed, because of the amount of blood, and. in fact, that it had obviously passed through my
chest, that I had probably been fatally hit.
So I merely doubled up, and then turned to my right again and began to - I just sat there, and Mrs.
Connally pulled me over to her lap. She was sitting, of course, on the jump seat, so I reclined with
my head in her lap, conscious all the time, and with my eyes open; and then, of course, the third
shot sounded, and I heard the shot very clearly. I heard it hit him. I heard the shot hit something, and
I assumed again - it never entered my mind that it ever hit anybody but the President. I heard it hit.
It was a very loud noise, just that audible, very clear.
Immediately I could see on my clothes, my clothing, I could see on the interior of the car which, as
I recall, was a pale blue, brain tissue, which I immediately recognized, and I recall very well, on my
trousers there was one chunk of brain tissue as big as almost my thumb, thumbnail, and again I did
not see the President at any time either after the first, second, or third shots, but I assumed always
that it was he who was hit and no one else. I immediately, when I was hit, I said, “Oh, no, no, no.”
And then I said,
“My God, they are going to kill us all.” Nellie, when she pulled me over into her lap -Mr. SPECTER. Nellie is Mrs. Connally?
Governor CONNALLY. Mrs. Connally. When she pulled me over into her lap, she could tell I was
still breathing and moving, and she said, “Don’t worry. Be quiet. You are going to be all right.” She
just kept telling me I was going to be all right.
After the third shot, and I heard Roy Kellerman tell the driver, “Bill, get out of line.” And then I saw
him move, and I assumed he was moving a button or something on the panel of the automobile, and
he said, “Get us to a hospital quick.” I assumed he was saying this to the patrolman, the motorcycle
police who were leading us.
At about that time, we began to pull out of the cavalcade, out of the line, and I lost consciousness
and didn’t regain consciousness until we got to the hospital. H4 132-133

Essential Points From Governor Connally’s Account
List out of sequence from narrative from Page 3 but in sequence of
happening of events
1) Had just made the turn ( onto Elm Street ).
2) Heard a shot.
3a) Instinctively turned right.
3b) Because that is where the sound came from.
4) Sound came from over right shoulder.
5) Immediately identified sound as a rifle shot.
6) Thought of an assassination.
7) Failing to see the president from over his right shoulder.
8) Turned to look over his left shoulder.
9) Got as far as being a bit to left of centre
10a) Felt impact of bullet
10b) Immediately he said “Oh, no, no, no”
11) Looked down and saw he was covered in blood.
12) He doubled up.
13) Turned to his right again.
14a) Nellie pulled him over on her lap.
14b) Then he said “My God. They’re going to kill us all”. when Nellie pulled him over to her side.
14c) Nellie comforted him.
15) Then he heard the third sound of a shot.
16) He assumed it his President Kennedy.
17) It was a very loud and close sound.
18) Immediately he saw pale brain tissue on his clothes.
19) Heard Roy Kellerman telling Bill Greer to “get out of line”.
20) Car pulled out of the cavalcade.
21) Lost consciousness.

Issues deriving from John Connally’s account
1) Clear that the sound was shortly after turned onto Elm Street.
The only problem I have hear is ambiguity. That said in a recent thread I gave reasons why I considered Z
204-207 as the point when President Kennedy received his throat wound.. That said, it is beyond dispute that
moment had taken place by Z 225.
I have no serious problems with points 2 - 8.
8) Got as far as being a bit to left of centre.
That could be Z 317. However it could also be Z 230
From what I can see there is no other frame where John Connally is left of centre.
10 a+b) Felt impact of bullet + Immediately he said “Oh, no, no, no”
He does not appear to speak after Z 230. It is much later when he Speaks. We cannot see whether he speaks
or not after Z 317.
11) Looked down and saw he was covered in blood
We do not see him looking down after Z 230 but he does glance down at Z 317
12) He doubled up (after the shot)
We do not see him double up after Z 230 but we do see that after Z 317
13) Turned to his right again ( after being shot )
Does turn to his right after Z 230 but does not appear to turn to his right after Z 317
14a+b) Nellie pulls him over on her lap + He cries “My God. They’re going to kill us all
In neither sequence does Nellie pull him over to her side. Certainly he is not seen talking at Z 230, Not possible
to see whether he talks post Z 317
15) Hears the head shot after being wounded.
By that definition the injury was not post Z 312
20 + 21) Car pulls out of cavalcade and then loses consciousness.
The car never does pull out of the cavalcade: it accelerates. Loosing consciousness was very moment in the film.
What can be taken from Connally’s statement on when he was shot:i. It was after President Kennedy throat/back wound.
ii. That he was able to turn to his right and then return to just left of centre. [ I place this point as negotiable
because at the heart of this argument is the belief that he could have been shot between Z 230 - Z 312 ]
iii. Was shot before the head shot. [ I also place this point as negotiable. If I am right that he was wounded after
Z 312 then the head shot had to be earlier. ]
Iv He says he speaks after feeling the impact of the bullet
v. He doubled up and looked down and saw he was wounded.
vi. Lost consciousness after car pulled away.
This is not a perfect listing. In addition it contains a very significant contradiction. Connally is clear that he was
shot before the head shot. The evidence I will present here suggests he was shot after the head shot. It can’t be
both: one is right and one is wrong. Connally also says that it was after he is wounded that he speaks. However
were he wounded post Z 312 then actually he speaks before he is wounded.
Page 6
The Demise of the Single Bullet Theory Part 2b
The Medical Evidence:In analysing when John Connally was shot we also need to take into account the medical evidence about how
he was wounded. How John Connally was wounded is equally, if not if not more important, to memory of when
he was wounded.
First Connally has had 10cm of his fifth rib smashed. H4 112
Second The Intercostal muscles between the ribs were not damaged.
H4 112 The Intercostal muscles are those muscles above and below
the rib. By making clear they were not damaged that meant that the
bullet traveled along the angle of then 5th rib. This is illustrated by
double headed black arrow.
Third As a result of the damage to his 5th rib, there were many small
sharp bone fragments which would be able to also pierce him were he
to move. H6 87/88
Fourth His right lung collapsed. Robert Shaw refers to the damage to
the lung and his need to repair it. H4 103
Fifth His trachea has deviated to the left. The trachea will always do
that when a lung is damaged. It deviates to the side of the good lung.
No reference because the trachea was never examined and mentioned.
In his deposition, Robert Shaw did expand on the bone fragments and their impact on Connally’s chest wound.
“DR SHAW. It was found that approximately 10cm of the fifth rib had been shattered and the rib fragments acting
as secondary missiles had been the major contributing factor to the damage to the anterior chest wall and to the
underlying lung.
MR SPECTER. What do you mean, doctor, by the words “fragments acting as secondary missiles?
Dr. SHAW. When bone is struck by a high velocity missile it fragments and acts much like bowling pins when they
are struck by a bowling ball-they fly in all directions.
DR SHAW. The bony fragments were removed along with all obviously damaged muscle.” H6 87/88
So a final criteria list is:i. It was after President Kennedy throat/back wound.
ii. He was able to turn to his right and then return to just left of centre. [ I place this point as negotiable because
at the heart of this argument is the belief that he could have been shot between Z 230 - Z 312 ]
iii. Was shot before the head shot. [ I also place this point as negotiable. If I am right that he was wounded after
Z 312 then the head shot had to be earlier. ]
iv. He speaks after he is wounded.
v. He doubled up and looked down and saw he was wounded.
vi. Lost consciousness after car pulled away.
vii. Lost 10 cm of his right lung.
viii. Many fragments exited his chest along with the bullet. Had to be in severe pain from this moment onwards.
ix. His right lung collapsed making breathing from this point onwards very difficult.
Therefore any window for John Connally ought to comply with the nine points listed above or, at least, most of
them.
Page 7
The Demise of the Single Bullet Theory Part 2b
A Description of the John Connally Cycle.
The “Cycle” begins at Z 230. The Z 230 Z 246 is described on P. ?
People are not immediately aware just how small the area is that
John Connally sat in. Although there was sufficient room for sitting,
it was a very different matter were you to want to move or turn in
the seat. Between the compartment divider ( highlighted in red in Z
246 ) and the edge of the seat there was just under 9 inches. And
between the right hand edge of the seat and the door there was
only 6 inches. Therefore to turn around, in the seat John Connally
was sitting in, would be very difficult.
This problem is compounded when you take into account John
Connally’s size: he was over 6’1”. His legs will have been quite
close up to him. There was no room to stretch the legs out is this
seat. To the right is an example of the Kennedy
car that I am working on. I have deliberately
hidden to door to allow a better view. Although
the Jump seats are in the correct position, the
back of the seat’s base is a little high and will
be lowered later. That said, this gives a realistic
idea of just how small this area is, especially
if you are over 6’ in height. The yellow arrows
give some idea of how Connally’s legs might
have had to be positioned when sitting in these
seats.
So now when you imagine how a man over six
feet in height attempts to turn in order to see
what is behind him, it is very clear he is going to have to twist his body around. There is only 6 inches between
his seat and the door so there is not the room to do an elegant turn.
The point therefore is that during this cycle the identity of specific feature on John Connally’s face as well body
changes are not necessarily indicators of a shot having been fired and its impact on John Connally’s body. They
could also be a reflection of the difficulty for a man over 6 feet in height attempting to turn round in order to see
the passenger behind.
Page 8
The Demise of the Single Bullet Theory Part 2b
Connally
continues
with his turn and at Z
253 his effort to turn
attracts the attention of
Jackie Kennedy. She
turns her attention from
her husband onto John
Connally. Jackie does
not return her attention
back to President Kennedy until Z 291. For 38 frames,or just over 2 seconds, Jackie stops looking at or paying
attention to the president. She is not aware that during this same sequence President Kennedy continues to
slope to his left, and towards Jackie, by something approaching 30º.
So what is happening during this sequence? The traditional view is that John Connally is in such pain that the
sound of the cries of his distress distracts Jackie. There are only eight frames when Connally appears to be
saying something and these frames take place just before Jackie turns towards him. But that is not what is most
remarkable. During this cycle that John Connally makes between Z 273 and Z 290, there is a 17 frame sequence
when Connally is looking in President Kennedy and Jackie’s direction.
It is totally unclear what is happening during this one second sequence. As the inset to Z 278 illustrates John
Connally is not in distress. His mouth is not open and he is not screaming. But because President Kennedy’s
sloping decline now hides Jackie’s face we cannot see whether there is any communication between her and
John Connally. Testimony suggests there was none but it is a very strange moment. And it looks throughout in
this 17 frame sequence that there is some kind of communication going on between them.
Page 9
The Demise of the Single Bullet Theory Part 2b
So what is happening during this sequence?
Now what is true is that during this sequence, and it would be around Z 242/6 onwards, John Connally did speak.
His wife remembered his saying “Oh, no, no, no.” H4 146. This is supported by Jacqueline Kennedy “So I was
looking to the left. I guess there was a noise, but it didn’t seem like any different noise really because there is so
much noise, motorcycles and things. But then suddenly Governor Connally was yelling, “Oh, no, no, no.”” H5 180.
So we actually now know what happened at Z 246. Having heard the first shot John Connally begins to turn to
see if he can see President Kennedy. His wife remembers his saying “Oh, no, no, no.” Jackie also remembers
this. She goes further however. She states that he was shouting and it was this shouting that distracted her. It
was John Connally’s shouting that caused her to look away from her husband and look towards John Connally.
And in this very frame, Z 246, which will be dealt with in the next section, we can see that John Connally is indeed
uttering something.
So how many frames do we see John Connally’s mouth open? The answer is eight frames: Z 241 - Z 248. In real
time we are talking about less that half a second. There is a possibility that he utters something else between Z
259 - Z 261. There is no evidence thereafter that he speaks, except during that seventeen frame sequence when
he is looking at Jackie. And it is not certain, at all, that words are spoken between the two during this sequence,
but it does look like there is communication between them - even though maybe unspoken.
At the end of this sequence. Z 273 - Z 290, Jackie returns her attention to President Kennedy, and John Connally
returns to face forward. His purpose is to turn round and see if he can see the president from over his left
shoulder. He gets to the point where he is facing around 20º to his right by Z 312. During this same sequence we
see Nellie Connally helping protect her husband.
In the first draft of this document I suggested that Nellie attempted to pull John Connally towards her. I mentioned
that she does so by holding onto his sides and pulling him in her direction, as can be seen in the inset on Z 308.
That is one of the reasons why John Connally is unable to complete the turn by Z 312. I am ambivalent now on
this. Maybe she does hold him by his sides and if John Connally had received a wound to his right chest, as
described by Robert Shaw, and Nellie grabbed his waist there and pulled him towards her, there is absolutely no
way you would not see a major reaction by John Connally. There is no way that someone could grab another
who is wounded, as Connally was, and there be no visual reaction to be seen. And what this proves is that at
this point John Connally is not yet wounded. However I am now not certain whether Nellie does hold John by
his sides as she draws him towards.
She has certainly changed position, her back is now leaning against the off-side door, but I am no longer certain
what is going on.
Page 10
The Demise of the Single Bullet Theory Part 2b
The Possible Window Z 230 - 246:-
So why not this moment for Connally to be struck:One thing that has struck me since the initial version of this booklet was published is just how strong feeling is for
this moment. I got the impression it was closing on sacrilegious to suggest any moment other than this. Before I
outline what is not going for it, lets outline what is going for this moment.
First:- Connally is seen to be speaking. Z 246 looks like it might be “no” from his “Oh, no, no, no.”
Second:- Z 236 would not be an impossible position for him being struck by the bullet.
Third:- Z 240 + Z 246 show his cheeks swollen. This is in keeping with the idea that his lung has collapsed.
Fourth:- His shoulder is lower than we see in Z 236, suggesting that his body is reacting to the bullet’s impact.
Fifth:- It is before the head shot
So this sequence is not without merit, why therefore do I discount it.
First:- This moment is at the beginning of the Connally cycle. Now that is not proof in itself. There are many
contradictions in Connally’s narrative of events, so he could be confused as to the exact sequence.
Second:- If this is the moment Connally is shot, then from this point onwards Connally has the following injuries:a) he has lost 10cm of his fifth rib
b) Numerous bone fragments have exited along with the bullet through the chest wound.
c) There a number of sharp bone fragments remaining to further injure him.
d) His right lung has collapsed.
Third:- So with these injuries Connally still begins to twist round to see is he can glimpse President Kennedy.
When he finds he cannot see him he returns to face forward.
Page 11
The Demise of the Single Bullet Theory Part 2b
So why would I reject this moment?:• Aside from the incredible pain he would have suffered from the wound to his chest, his right lung has collapsed
and therefore Connally is now going to have a major breathing problem.
• So at this point when he is just starting to make the first of two turns - one right, one return left - he has just
sustained a 10cm damage to his 5th rib and has had his right collapse. And yet in a very confined space he is
able to twist his body right and left with no sign that he is in the distress he ought to be in.
• Between this point and the head shot is a 4 second period during which we see no significant reactions to these
wounds. I contend that we ought to. Infact I would go further. I would suggest that had he been wounded there
is no way we would not see expressions of intense pain and distress.
• Although there are five criteria that support this moment, the damage he has sustained along with his
determination to turn to see the president make it clear he is not injured at this point.
• Put simply, it does not seem humanly possible to do what he is required to do ( under the connditions he is now
required to do them ) and that is why I reject this moment.
Page 12
The Demise of the Single Bullet Theory Part 2b
The Possible Window Z 272- 278:-
During the conversation, following the first draft of this paper, a number of alternative windows were suggested
and it as was asked why they would not be suitable points when Connally received his wounds. Such an example
is the one above.
The critical reason that this moment is not suitable is the wound entry angle. The wound entered just below
the right arm pit. If you look at the inset on Z 272 you can see that the way Connally is turned would make it
impossible to strike him. From that position the shot would have to come from Old Red or possibly even the Post
Office.
And therefore just on that point alone, there is no way Connally received his wounds at this window.
Page 13
The Demise of the Single Bullet Theory Part 2b
The Possible Window Z 289-292
During the conversation, following the first draft of this paper, a number of alternative windows were suggested
and it as was asked why they would not be suitable points when Connally received his wounds. Such an example
is the one above.
The very reasons that required Z 272 to be dismissed, are also the very reasons this window must be dismissed.
Again the only possible sites for a shot at this moment is again either Old red or the Post Office.
And therefore just on that point alone, there is no way Connally received his wounds at this window.
Page 14
The Demise of the Single Bullet Theory Part 2b
This is an interesting sequence ( Z 312 - Z 315 ). What is worth looking at is the changing
expression on John Connally’s face. In this frame, the first in the sequence, John Connally’s
mouth is open. It may be a consequence of his turn to the left. However it could also be that he
is saying something at this point. It is ambiguous.
It appears that Connally’s expression has intensified in this frame. If it has it could be that it is a
reaction to the head shot that has just taken place.
Worth noting that even during this point John Connally is still turning to his left.
In this frame, as well as the next, an insert has been placed of John Connally’s face. There is a
very evident change in his expression. It is a much more pained expression than we see in the
previous frame.
In this frame we see an even greater expression of pain on John
Connally’s face. So what is going on. It could be a reaction to the
head shot and all the brain matter raining down on him. However, it
could also be that a fragment from the head shot has impacted with his wrist. This will be further
commented on, on page 22: “Extended comments on the Z 312-Z 339 Window.”
Page 15
The Demise of the Single Bullet Theory Part 2b
From this frame, Z 316, onwards there is a rough attempt to make some analysis of John
Connally’s movement from this point until Z 339. The two fixed positions that are being used
is the right hand corner of the back seat and John Connally’s right shoulder. Each page of four
slides has four lines yellow, green, blue, red in sequence for the four slides. Yellow is the earliest
slide; red the latest. From Page 17 onwards the Z 316 yellow line is used as a benchmark for the
other sets and, on those pages, the Z 316 yellow line is white.
Though analysis may change in future, as things stand at the moment Z 317 is considered the
zero point. The significant movement that John Connally makes, and which makes this author
believe he is reacting to a wound to his back, starts from this frame. This will be discussed
further on P. 22 Extended comments
This is an extremely blurred frame and judgement for the positioning of the line on John Connally’s
shoulder is something of a gestimate.
Like Z 318, there is also something of an element of a gestimate here for exactly where the
shoulder is. However the author believes the position of the line is close to Connally’s shoulder.
That said, looking at Connally’s position between Z 317 and Z 319, it is clear some movement
has taken place. At Z 319 John Connally has moved a significant distance to where he was just
two frames earlier.
Page 16
The Demise of the Single Bullet Theory Part 2b
This is the first set of slides that has the Z 316 white position line as a reference.
Again this is a blurred frame and that may have impact on precise accuracy. That said, compared
to Z 316 there has been a significant movement forward.
Compared to Z 320 there has been little movement. This sequence will be further discussed on
P. 22
Compared to Z 321 there has been little movement. This sequence will be further discussed on
P. 22
Compared to Z 322 there has been movement backwards. This sequence will be further
discussed on P. 22
Page 17
The Demise of the Single Bullet Theory Part 2b
Although this frame is blurred, it is clear that John Connally has reached the compartment divider
and there is now no further space for him to move forward.
The reason why there is a small difference in line length between this frame and Z 324 is likely
because being unable to move forward in Z 324, John Connally is now beginning to move left.
He will continue in this direction until the end of the sequence.
Starting at Z 325 John Connally has begun to look down. This was something he said that he did
after he received his wound. As far as movement is concerned, John Connally is in approximately
the same position he was in at Z 325.
Again a very blurred frame which makes marking as well as analysis. Although it is difficult to be
precise, it is most likely that Connally is continuing to move to his left.
One thing that can be said is that between this frame and the previous one, is that Connally’s
head is lower in this frame. That can be said because we now see more of Nellie’s head. It could
be that during this frame is Connally is continuing to double up.
Page 18
The Demise of the Single Bullet Theory Part 2b
Although there may not be a significant change in the degree of movement, there is a further This is a very blurred frame. However it can be seen that John Connally’s head has bent further
movement leftwards. The reason for this statement is because we can see even more of Nellie’s forward as if to look down on his chest. As pointed out, this was something he said in testimony
head. Note:- It is often commented that the reason for this sudden lurch by John Connally to the that he did.
left is that Nellie Connally is pulling him out of danger. If you look at this sequence beginning at Z
325 you will see that she is looking forward. She is not looking in his direction.
Again a blurred frame, maybe representing a bullets being fired. Note:- the flash on the right
hand side. It could be the result of glare, but it could also be a reaction to the shot striking the
windscreen frame. Note:- that Z 331 is a very blurred frame. In this frame there is seen a further
lowering of John Connally’s head.
This is such a blurred frame it is quite possible that the red line is not quite accurate and that is
why we see such a change in distance.
Page 19
The Demise of the Single Bullet Theory Part 2b
Again a blurred frame and so locating the line might be misleading.
This is beginning of a sequence when it is possible to be more confident on the placing of the
line. At Z330 on P. 19 it appeared that Connally, although lowering his head, was still basically
sitting up. This is the first frame when we can see him beginning to fall onto the floor.
Note:- Again look at Nellie. We are being told that she is pulling him towards her and out of
danger. It is clear that she is doing no such thing.
In this frame we see a continuing of Connally’s falling towards the car floor.
It is very difficult to see exactly what is happening here. There is a black shadow between him
and Nellie, and it is not quite clear what that is. However there is a lot of pink in the image. It is
possible that Connally’s face has turned more towards to Zapruder’s POV at this point. Between
Z 332 and Z 335 it is clear that Connally has moved lower onto the floor. The red line is longer
than the yellow line.
Page 20
The Demise of the Single Bullet Theory Part 2b
Although, again, a blurred frame it appears that Connally is continuing his movement down in
the direction of the floor.
This is the first frame when we see the affect of Connally’s movement on Nellie Connally. John
Connally’s movement left has forced her to move backwards to allow his forward movement.
This is a movement we see her continue for the last three frames. It is possible that during this
sequence Nellie is indeed helping John move out of danger. However this is not something she
has done in the previous frames. John Connally’s movement is all on his own.
Again a blurred frame that makes analysis difficult. However John Connally appears to continue
his downward movement and Nellie continues moving round towards the back of him.
This, the last frame in the sequence, shows John Connally virtually on the Nellie’s lap face down.
And Nellie appears to be bending over him.

Extended comments
on
the Z 312-Z 339 Window.
The Z 312-Z 315 Wrist wound:Part 2a documents the wound to John Connally’s wrist. Single Bullet Theory supporters would have us believe it
was a through wound. It never was. The wound was on the right lateral side on the right hand. It was just below
the thumb and the exit was on the middle of the Volar side midway and just up from the wrists crease. Therefore
it was a sort diagonal wound starting just behind the thumb and exiting on the middle of the Volar (palm) side of
the wrist just up from the wrists crease.
That mean there are very few places in the entire Zapruder film when a bullet, or fragment, could create the
damage we see and especially in this exact location.
At Z 312, Connally’s right wrist is held up with the thumb area facing him. It is not impossible for a fragment
from the head shot to impact with this area of the wrist. This would help to explain the changing expressions of
distress that can be seen on his face through this sequence. Z 312 - 315. In addition a bullet fragment was found
in the jump seat between the seat base and the back of the seat.
It is not being said here that this was the moment the wrist was damaged, but it is being said that it is a serious
contender. Both the wound and the position of the wound precisely aligned to be damaged as documented.
Z317:Aside from tuning towards his left there does not appear to be any forward movement that John Connally makes
until this moment. This is why it is referred to as the zero point. The degree of movement is being judged from
this point.
What is being demonstrated in this sequence is a very rough guide to movement on John Connally’s behalf.
Part 2c will apply a much more scientific analysis to this movement to see whether this rough guide has any
merit. One point this commentary has demonstrated is that the argument that what we see in John Connally’s
movement was caused by his wife is assisting him to get out of danger. Until Z 336 onwards it can clearly be
seen that she is taking no part in this movement. Thereafter, it is quite possible that she does have a part to play
in John Connally’s movement.
The Z 320 - Z 323 sequence:In this rough analysis it is very difficult to say exactly when John Connally reaches the car divider. What is clear is
that forwards from Z 223 Connally stops moving forward and begins to move leftward. The assumption therefore
is that somewhere in the Z 320-323 sequence John Connally has reached the divider and is unable to move any
further forward.
When was John Connally wounded:Having carried out this study, I can only see two possible moments when the chest wound could have been
inflicted. Note:- I did not say wrist wound for the reasons mentioned above. Those two moments are Z230-46
and Post Z 312. On pages 11-12 I set out the reasons why I feel Z 230-246 cannot be the moment. If I am right,
as I believe I am then that only leaves one moment. That means that John Connally had to be wounded post Z
312.
