ROUTE 66 COURIER PAGE 6 PICNIC TYME IN THE PYNES July 20th saw a beautiful day at Fort Tuthill for the Route 66 Car Club Picnic! Master BBQ Chefs Mike & Lacey Ebersole and Randy Travis again out did themselves with some scrumptious grilling. Randy Travis, who missed the awards presentation at the Holbrook Gunslinger Car Show, was presented with his 2nd Place Stock Car Thru ’54 Plaque. ROUTE 66 COURIER PAGE 7 IN MEMORY OF BEA COYLE FOLLOW-UP TO THE WINSLOW FLY-IN & CAR SHOW The Winslow Fly-in was held July 26 at the Winslow Lindbergh Airport. While not a great car show with only 10 cars presented and no remarkable aircraft available, the oral presentations and static display boards explaining the history of the airport and the beginning of “trans continental” mail and passenger service were very well done. And the breakfast wasn’t bad. Of the ten cars which showed up, three were fellow cub member’s rides with Randy Travis with his Cadilac, Bob & Maggie Bortree with their Chevrolet, and Jerry McGlothin with his Italia. PAGE 8 CHECK OUT ANDY KEKSIS’ RIDE As seen at the August 2nd Beat the Heat Tractor & Engine Show, club members Andy and Mona’s perfectly restored 1945 Model B John Deere Tractor.
