DIG collective 12-6pm Sat & Sun Dig Collective was born in June 2014 when four artists dug a 8 square metre hole in the 500 year old garden of a property in Hackney Central, slated for imminent demolition. Dig Collective will bring the 15 tonnes of displaced earth dug from the hole to the Festival hub at Forman's Yard. Visitors will be asked to help shift Hackney's most precious substance. The sculpture will have frames of all shapes and sizes some static, some movable and so removable to the used remotely and returned. The frame will be stretched with acetate therefore allowing people to look through and literally trace what they can see. Members of the public, artists and the Hackney WickED Development team will all be invited to look, draw, collage and contribute.
