Employment Opportunity-Administrative Secretary The Town of Tofield has the following position available: Job Title: Administrative Secretary Reports to: Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) or Designate Position Summary The Administrative Secretary provides high level administrative assistance and support to all Town of Tofield departments. The support will include a full range of varied complex, sensitive and confidential office administration. Responsible for general office and accounting duties. Duties and Responsibilities • Responds to telephone, in person and electronic enquiries. Refers matters to other staff as appropriate or requested. • Balances cash daily and makes bank deposits. • Processes payments and issues receipts for taxes, utility charges, licenses and fees, etc. • Compiles, prepares and enters data into a computer from various sources. Updates the Town of Tofield website and other subsequent electronic media. • Responsible for the office management of ordering supplies, transmitting information, keeping reference materials up to date and maintaining and organizing office filing. • Prepares and circulates agenda material for Town of Tofield Council meetings. • Processes and types correspondence for Council minutes, by-laws and agreements, handles all confidential correspondence. • Acts as Recording Secretary for Town of Tofield Council meetings • Performs required duties after normal work hours. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older. • Strong working knowledge of computer systems, experience in an office setting or Municipal office setting. • Ability to establish and maintain effective, harmonious, cooperative, and productive working relationships with other employees and the public. • Knowledge of practices used in the operation of the Bellamy Computer software system. Proficiency in Excel, Word and Publisher computer programs. • Ability to work flexible hours and perform occasional overtime with some weekend, holiday and shift work as required. • Ability to report for work on time and perform the duties of the job for an entire workday. • Ability to follow Town policies and regulations. Bathgate Water Co-op Project Open House Beaver County is hosting an open house to discuss the design of the Bathgate Water Co-op project. This project will provide City of Edmonton water to residents north of Township 502, between Range Roads 170 & 174. Elections will take place at the AGM March 10, 2015. The Board consists of 7-11 members, who fill either one of the named positions or become a Director at large, which take on unique roles within the organization. The board is an administrative governance Board, meaning the Board is responsible for governance and implementation of its operation. Our Mission statement: to provide short-term food assistance to those in need. The current Policy for applicants is as follows: • Fill out the standard volunteer form and interview • Undergo a Police check (no charge, if residing in Beaver County) • Have filled volunteer hamper positions, once training has occurred. We strive for the best possible Board members by providing a clear understanding of the responsibilities involved in being part of our dedicated Board.
